OMG Google cheese sauce. Make it. Let it cool. Double Ziploc that shit and carry it. With you! Or buy Velveeta! Fuck! So painful to watch! Luv the content anyway 😉
LOL. I'd like to think he shrieked and panicked in his human tortilla bed/hammock contraption and the string above his head gave and he feel to the ground but decided to edit that out because it's not "hobo Zen".
Steve, Chef here... So, you had a decent chance at making a sauce believe it or not. The quality of the cheese you get from a convenient store was probably the biggest culprit. Shredded cheese actually is coated in a thin layer of starch. The problem is the ham expels water, and the cheese expels oil. Those two aren't friends without the aid of an emulsifier. Believe it or not there are many pantry staples that can be used to emulsify. Any easy on in this instance would be mustard. Another option would have been to use the ham as a "bread" and make grilled cheese. Then simply slap it onto your tortilla and walla. Good Content. Thank you!
Sorry to hear that ..Sometimes things happen for a reason,I lost my job quite a few years ago now and it actually was the best thing to happen,a bad thing can sometimes lead to better times .I hope things go well for you in the future 👍

Found your content randomly last year and I’m very glad I did. You remind me of the days as a kid where I would pack a sandwich in a bag with a buck knife and spend the day following the brook behind my house until it got dark. There is a child like wonder to your content, and I’m sure that everyone else that watches feels the same. Thank you Steve, you bring joy and tranquility to more people than you think.
Great Video .. When I was homeless back in 1990, I slept under bridges at night by using roadside hi vis orange plastic barrier netting strung up with paracord to make a hammock, with a blanket lining in it, it was fairly warm, out of the way of people and reasonably safe. Then in the day I used it to hide my rucksack up under the bridge when I needed to go into the local town. The older style iron railway bridges were best and had gantrys and walkways you could get up onto to string the "hammock" on.
Speedy recovery and many prayers for Crazy Neighbor! They say that motorcycles are dangerous, but I bet he didn’t think it meant dangerous while not riding it! Hope he gets well soon so he can join you on some of your winter adventures. Well wishes from Fayetteville, North Carolina
I love how Steve is himself. He doesn’t try to be someone he isn’t and that’s what makes him the best UA-camr just doing what he loves and sharing it with us. ❤
Exactly. There have been so many channels I have followed that I believed to be unique & authentic, only to completely sell out and become artificial. Steve & his channel/content are refreshing in all ways!
My rescue Dalmatian has horrible storm and nighttime anxiety. I watch Steve when I am up with him and it actually calms him down. So crazy it works, but I am forever thankful to this guy. We are majorly missing Crazy Neighbour 😊
The part of me that's half Mexican & lives in Arizona was screaming at the TV, "Run the tortilla over the flame!" Homemade tortillas warmed up on a gas stove with real fire was a thing of my childhood. Thanks for the content Steve & I wish the Crazy Neighbor a lightening fast recovery, I dig it when you guys do work together 🤙🤙
I discovered that point for the first time last night after watching a foodie show on SBS television channel. San Antonio was the city - showed the history of Tex Mex as well. Showcased the old fashioned way of how the real corn is used to make the real tortillas and over the flame - the real corn test a winner.
I thought exactly the same thing. I also think he should have just roasted the ham in the pot and added the rest as is. That would have tasted better. But hey, this cheese paste is also definitely tasty when camping. Everyone as he likes.
@@BonesyTucson just make sure you don't leave it there. I usually heat one part for about 5 second then spin it and continue doing that and then flip it over and repeat on the opposite side. It really depends on what type of tortilla and the size.
Steve’s videos have frequently been my way of unwinding and getting ready for bed. His constantly calm demeanor and the way he can make a comfortable home anywhere he is puts day to day “problems” into perspective. It is with great humility that say the perfect thickener for the ham and cheese soupy filling was the extra tortillas. Torn up tortillas or crushed tortilla chips break down quickly in liquid and will easily thicken soups or sauces. Tortilla chips also work as excellent fire starters.
oh man. I needed this video today. The mosquitos, the spiders, the rain, and Steve enduring a night out under a bridge made me reflect on my work weeks ups and downs and general feel bad and it all seemed a little less awful. I guess we all have to endure and learn to laugh at (or at least smile wryly at) "the we're doing our best but there's only so much we can control" stuff that happens in everyday life. Thanks Steve. For the reminder that there's always some good/nice along with the tough parts of life. Also sending out good thoughts to Crazy Neighbor (and his Lady Friend and his family) for a quick and full recovery.
i like the fact that not only do you clean up after yourself, you also do your best to clean up after the people that camped at places before you, it really shows how much respect you have for the outdoors and the places you camp,
I'm a hard-core rules & regs person when it comes to the outdoors, but Steve's approach to stealth is so wholesome, and he applies the meaningful rules to what he does, so he always leaves a site better, even if no one ever knows it is an occasional campground lol! I really want to stealth some day, we'll see if I ever get the guts lol
I've always had a rule that I follow when I go out camping or even just hiking or canoeing. I have to pick up a minimum of 3 items before I leave. On a few very rare occassions, I've had to leave nearly or completely empty handed.

Hi Steve. Ahhh your friend Scott seems like a really nice guy. This looks like a nice bridge to hangout under. But I guess I'd be concerned about people passing through because it's so close to the road. People love bridges on them and under them. Love the rain, nice sound effect. All you needed was a can of refried beans or just beans. Wishing Glenn, your Crazy Neighbor a full recovery and hope we see him soon.

Thank you from Halifax Steve. So very sorry for your recent losses. A tough year. Your videos are so refreshing, funny and down to earth. Not wanting to give advice, you do you. I have, however, been using the Hennesy deep jungle hammock for about 5 years now, so I thought you may appreciate the feedback being a hennesy head. It has that double layer of fabric at bottom where the reflective sleeping pad fits in between the layers. Otherwise, I tend to lose far too much bum heat. It does help a lot. Also, metal rings on carabiners (2 small aluminum rings from MEC OR wherever per carabiner) attached to your tree straps works amazing to hang hammock. It creates a self locking tension system in two seconds. No knots required! The tail end goes around the 2 rings once and then down the middle of the two pieces of rope that was just created from the loop going around carabiner. just . Just pull the line for tension. No need to do anything else. Locks on own.Makes for easy adjustments as well. Ypu only need enough slack on line when starting.I am sure there is a video on it somewhere out there on the www. Keep up all your great work. It's also very easy to pee overboard from hammock into a dedicated wide mouth water bottle with simple practice, it becomes a game changer. The mummy sleeping bags are also horrible for the hammock. Noticed you commented on the mummy in a different video. Thanks again for all you are doing.
I feel like I'm right there with you Steve, but then I remember you're by yourself filming this. I hope you're doing well and still enjoying being out in nature. Love your channel. All the best to ya man.
I liked the almost spooky vibe this one had. Dark and stormy night? check. Satanic graffiti? Check. Sparking utility pole? Check. Weight lifting spiders on the edge of a marsh? Check and check. This would have been a good Halloween episode.
Next time, once the initial food gets hot on the burner, take it off and add the rest of the cheese and stir. Emulsions don’t like to get too hot or they break! And if it cools down too much and stops melting, throw it back onto the burner for a few seconds. Love your videos!! ❤
I've been loving the NS Series, Steve! I wish I could make it out for the meetup but have some plans already this weekend! Fun fact, when the power poles around here buzz and spark like that it's because of the damp salty air, it makes it easier for the electricity to jump around, you'll especially notice it when it's really salty fog off the water. All the best to Crazy Neighbour for a speedy and comfortable recovery!
Glad to hear Glenn is healing. I love the videos with you guys together. Sorry to hear about the loss of your wife. Just found out today when going through your videos. You are a strong man continuing on after losing your wife.
I love how you still have a smile on your face even when this all went from bad to worse and with the other stuff you have gone through recently including the crazy neighbour news you told us about in this video, you still look on the bright side and take it on, take life on by the horns and enjoy whatever comes! Remember, pain is part of being alive. It is a good thing in a way, it can unite us. We all feel it...

@@crazyneighbour2429 As long as it's a good recovery. I broke a foot and dislocated a shoulder last winter. My advice is keep doing your PT exercises, even if they hurt. Drink more water than beer (till your healed at least) and rest more than you think you should. I re-injured because I went back to my old routine before my body was ready. So, slow and steady is probably better than a speedy recovery. Sending thoughts of complete healing your way. 🥰

After my wife and I finished the video late last night I was typing up the message above. She asked who I was talking to and I said "Steve of course". I never thought he'd see it. Thanks again Steve. ☮️❤️
Noticed you are still wearing your wedding ring. Kudos to you. I'm still wearing mine and the spouse has been gone for 23 years. They are gone, but never, ever, ever forgotten.
What happened?
Our thoughts and prayers for Crazy Neighbor for a healthy speedy recovery. We love you 'CN' ! Thank you Steve for letting us know. And thank you for another great video. Thanks buddy!
Hi Billthomas Thank you for the comment
@@crazyneighbour2429 hey buddy I hope you are doing better. Like I said we are praying for a speedy healing g for you brother. Hope to see you out there soon with that crazy dude you hang with nailed Steve. Love you both brothers!
"These spiders are huge, they've got like, biceps," cracked me up. Glad to see you out and about, hope Crazy Neighbor has a swift and complete recovery!
The “wouldn’t be surprised if I heard one walking” part got me! 😂
That was Halarious!! 😂
Prayers for Crazy Neighbor and his recovery! Hope he will be up and back on some stealth camping trips soon!!🙏🏻🙏🏻
I love that Steve measured the cheese with his heart. Truly relatable content.
Hi Steve! Caring thoughts and prayers with a Step 2 , lovingly, for Crazy Neighbor. And so proud of you Steve for taking the bull by the horns and getting back up and enjoying life. ❤️-Susan Marie
Best wishes to Glen. We all need a crazy neighbour in our lifes.

OMG Google cheese sauce. Make it. Let it cool. Double Ziploc that shit and carry it. With you! Or buy Velveeta! Fuck! So painful to watch!
Luv the content anyway 😉
@@jeremy4375Jesus, calm down dude
LOL. I'd like to think he shrieked and panicked in his human tortilla bed/hammock contraption and the string above his head gave and he feel to the ground but decided to edit that out because it's not "hobo Zen".
Steve,
Chef here...
Thank you!
I absolutely lost it when he just went for the entire bag of cheese. Thanks for being awesome, Steve, glad you're back!
So gross 😂
Water and cheese doesn't really mix. Milk would have been a better option

Wow that’s a lot of damage for a fall . Watching Glen camping with you is amusing. I wish him a speedy recovery ❤️🩹. Wonderful video as usual Steve . I’m always excited to see your videos when I get notifications.
Sorry about your crazy neighbor 💙
Hope he feels better soon
Happy to see you out camping 🤗😊
Sad to hear but even with a full recovery He certainly wont be able to climb mountains, his age means He would be more prone to damage.

Thoughts and wishes for a speedy recovery for crazy neighbor. Oh, and Steve you are still awesome as per usual.
Hello njd Thank you
Having "stealth camped" a bit myself over the years i love this content. Great humour so i catch myself chuckling often. Definitely one of my favourite channels, no weird unrelated sponsors, just one guy (mostly) cool content, humour, a few beers AND never gets caught.
Genuinely cracked me up with the wraps debacle 😂 Also, as someone from England, I just wanted to state again how interesting and fascinating your work is from the perspective of seeing your part of the world through a unique and real life lens!
Meeting Steve and having lots of step 2s with him and his wonderful famely was amazing .but seeing him camp under the bridge,my best friends and I hung out under when we were young is just so epic 🍻🍻

I lost my wife about 2 years ago, my sons and I still go camping alot in her memory. Thank you for your videos and I am so sorry for your loss... different sites down where we live in south mississippi. USA. ..
I am truly very sorry for your loss, my friend. I’m happy to hear that you continue to Hunker Down in her memory. Keep it up! Thanks so much for watching and also commenting. Cheers :)
Crazy Neighbor, we're praying for you. I'm sure you'll downplay it, but that injury is one of the worst. Hope to see you back soon! Steve, also praying for you during this time with the passing of your mom. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your life. We're here for you.
Cheers to crazy neighbour 🍻
“Something’s crunchy in there” love that part! Thoughts and prayers for crazy neighbor and a speedy recovery free of any complications.
I was thinking it might have been one of those spiders.
He did look up under the bridge after he said that! Lol
When he said that I was thinking OMG ! The spider fell in the pot !
We loved to follow the streams to see where they lead to . We'd spend all day just following along ! Good old days !
this is totally me!! I agree, and thank you Steve!!
Nice camping with you Steve! I hope Crazy Neighbor has a quick recovery, best wishes to him.
You know it’s a good Camping with Steve video when it immediately starts with “I’m getting dropped off by a bridge” 😂
Better than “dropped off a bridge”
Loved the episode! Always a pleasure tagging along on your adventures Steve. - I wish Glen a speedy recovery.
I love how Steve is himself. He doesn’t try to be someone he isn’t and that’s what makes him the best UA-camr just doing what he loves and sharing it with us. ❤
i totally agree. he's the genuine article.
I wish I could be 10% Steve's chill and earnestness
Exactly. There have been so many channels I have followed that I believed to be unique & authentic, only to completely sell out and become artificial. Steve & his channel/content are refreshing in all ways!
He's good people 😍
@@StarswakeYes, he certainly is!
Wishing crazy neighbor a pain free and speedy recovery! We love your videos! Hunker down with a step 2!!
Your camping culinary adventures never fail to delight. 🤣
Seriously. Steve's videos are always a riot, but if he does a "Best of" reel for this year, I nominate this as "Least Appetizing Meal"!
My rescue Dalmatian has horrible storm and nighttime anxiety. I watch Steve when I am up with him and it actually calms him down. So crazy it works, but I am forever thankful to this guy. We are majorly missing Crazy Neighbour 😊
Steve is pumping out the content much appreciated
Hey Steve! Glad to see you back in the swing of things. I'm so sorry to hear about "crazy neighbor". I will be praying for his speedy recovery.
I'm a gringo and I always heat my tortillas over an open flame on the stove.
I thought exactly the same thing. I also think he should have just roasted the ham in the pot and added the rest as is. That would have tasted better. But hey, this cheese paste is also definitely tasty when camping. Everyone as he likes.
I didn't know this, I never did before 'cos I thought the bread might get all sooty from the flame. Will try this for sure next time I'm out :)
Thanks Steve. For giving us top tier content for years. We love you
Absolutely agree, from the wet coast of Vancouver Island 🍻
i like the fact that not only do you clean up after yourself, you also do your best to clean up after the people that camped at places before you, it really shows how much respect you have for the outdoors and the places you camp,
I'm a hard-core rules & regs person when it comes to the outdoors, but Steve's approach to stealth is so wholesome, and he applies the meaningful rules to what he does, so he always leaves a site better, even if no one ever knows it is an occasional campground lol!
I love this shit. Thanks for letting us live vicariously through you.
The amount of riveting on that old bridge is amazing! Back when labor was cheap, and technology was expensive… Great episode, as always!
Ummmm they had no technology when this was built! No cell phones, no computer, only a operator who asked what line you wanted lol.

Great video as always Steve. I'm sorry to hear about crazy neighbor. He's a beloved part of the channel and we are all wishing him a swift recovery.

Good evening Steve. Just seeing your wonderful smiling face is a source of enjoyment for me. So sorry to hear about crazy neighbor. Praying for a complete and speedy recovery 🙏. Any day is a great day that we can spend with you. Thanks very much you are greatly appreciated. ❤
Wishing Glen no pain and a speedy recovery.

Those tend to be my favorite camping with Steve episodes, because he's living my dream of just... Setting up camp in creepy, unusual places.

@@clear.z oh yeah, you're right. I forgot he mentioned that.
