The problem with GoPro have corrupt video and dropped frames, so many UA-camrs have this problem. Video quality in good light is good though. Maybe DJI has better software.
Great review as usual. My question will be about the settings. What audio settings did you have when comparing? The low light of ace pro 2 wins and I am surprisingly to see how insta360 improved their day light image quality...Gopro is just too warm and kinda over exposed on the face.

Thanks man. Love your videos. Everything is demonstrated clear. Back in the day, i bought my Hero 7 black based on a video you made and been a subscriber ever since. I think you left out the weight issue which can mean a lot, especially when mounted on a helmet.
At 1:38 you can really see how overexposed GP13 is when sunlight hits a face. Ace2 and Action5 are pretty close, but I still lean toward Ace 2 because its colors are way more natural and pleasant. Action5 makes skin tones look a bit red and too weirdly smooth
The thing for me about low light with these isn’t night time darkness but rather deep shade. The GoPro so easily falls apart if you’re just hiking in a forest. Lots of noise and blur issues from the stabilization fighting the frame rate. You really need to customize the settings to make it useable, and it still might not work out. I’m really curious how the others would hold up doing things in deep shade. I think they’d have to do dramatically better. Maybe not osmo pocket 3 good, but they have to be better than GoPro.

Why? Other than low light ability (yeah, because everybody buys action cams to shoot in a pitch black room), what do you think is so bad about the gopro when compared to the others?
@@MTB_FPV I did and I ask again. Other than low light capabilities, how is this end game for the goprk. You might prefer the ace pro 2 or the OA5 but that's personal preference.
I had some bad video quality issues with the Osmo Action 3, especially when using it to video outdoor concerts. The 4K/30 just seemed to lack sharpness and detail when cropping or zooming in. Any thoughts on how the 5 performs in regard to these areas or would one of the others work better? I primarily video hikes and outdoor events. Thanks!
The image quality is a bit better by ACE pro 2, but I prefer AC5 pro because of the dual screen and ease of use. Besides, ACE pro 1 is still very good, I think those who already own it do not need to upgrade to ace pro 2
Looks like there’s some problem’s with the ace pro 2. Everything related to the camera is out of stock everywhere in the eu, across all major camera stores. The plot thickens!
I'd like to see a slightly larger sensor in an action cam, similar to the Osmo Pocket 3's. That would boost low light performance, where these action cams usually fall short. Regarding the DJI, I don't like having to side load their app. Their app needs to be made available through the Play Store.
No 10-bit color, weighs heavier than competitors, no larger sensor, no cloud storage /upload and delete option like go pro, and this year one less "budget model" released. No significant updates from insta 360 at all!
Great review as I’m looking to purchase a new camera as my 8Black is getting tired, we will be using it in a Boat fishing application and concerned about the waterproof of each of the unit as I don’t recall it being covered, we will definitely be doing some night fishing in low light as well as Dawn, Dusk and bright sunny days!. Leaning towards the 360 but I need it to be waterproof. Thanks~
Just finished watching the video and I think I'll have to give to the Dji action 5 for this one. I have a gopro hero 10 black and its fine for me due to the fact I bought early release and have had a few problems with it. I have not used it much early in my career so i have been running some test and recently gave it new update. The footage seems to shakey on my hero 10 but am not sure if its due to the fact I bought it early and have not gave them enough time to work out the kinks but it looks like dji has always been consistent with there hardware. I think for my next purchase it will be DJI but i will try the gopro later down the line since its always been part of my arsenal.
I don't hate the flip screen but having owned the Ace Pro, its just way to LARGE and heavy... all action cams have grown in size over the last 5+ years, but I feel with Ace Pro they crossed an invisible line that really makes it not ideal for mounting etc. The Action 5 Pro is the smallest of the big 3 and has way better build quality and the front and rear touchscreens are a nice touch.
Unfortunately, if you use multiple cameras in log and color grade the Ace Pro takes a hit without 10 bit color since real professional cameras all have at least 10 bit including your 2 main competitors. The Ace Pro needs to remove the “Pro” from its name. GoPro needs some feature upgrades, but for daytime cinematic results, it still rules. And I don’t mean the 13 because the 12 is the same camera without a few auto lenses.
why dont they give us something like Action 5 AF (with 1inch and autofocus). Let it be less durable, it's ok if you dont use it in real action. Pocket 3 has it and the footage looks the best, but i dont like the body of pocket 3 (fragile gimbal, rptating screen, built in battery).
In my country, the action 5 pro sells for 425 usd and its predecessor sells for 355 usd (excluding extra battery pack and SD card). GoPro 12 sells for 420 usd (the dual battery pack version) and GoPro 13 with no extra battery sells for same 420 usd. Osmo action 4 adventure pack sells for 450 usd. Which camera and which package should I go with if I want to shoot videos longer than 120 minutes without heating and battery drain issue.
just the mount for tripod/selfie-stick ... why not the standed 1/4 screw? biggest thing for me, low light handling. i thought DJI image/color handling had a slight edge over Insta. but overall, Insta. those were little trade-offs. but the app made the huge difference that DJI and even GoPro gotta catch up.
I think it’s worth waiting for gopro 14 with the new processor it will be on par with acepro 2 low light performance 1:1 shooting is a great selling point for gopro and it can acquire even larger fov with new processor. I still believe GoPro and dji have more natural tone Not sure GoPro will introduce the new chip next year or they will wait for gopro 15
I wouldn’t expect anything special from GoPro. They’ve disappointed time and time again. What was their upgrade this year? Sell you a bunch of extra accessories? Whoopty doo. I’m not impressed!
Hmmm, in comparisons when the 1 came out it exposed best in direct sun. In some of those shots the 2 looks a lot more blown out than the action 5. I've had shots with the 1 in forest when shadows are perfectly exposed but the sky behind is nice and blue, not over exposed at all. So I wonder if I'd still get that with the 2.
I've still not giving up the hopes on my GoPro 11. With GoPro Labs I can get 200mbit bitrate and goods stabilization on videos in the darker environments. But I need external light when it gets dark to make full use of it as the picture is pretty dark due to both my iso-limitation and shutter speed limitation.

The Ace pro 2 has the best picture quality, the Action 5 pro is the lightest and most convenient, and the GoPro 13 is the GoPro 12 Plus
Thank you for the balanced review.
Best Image are on daylight Hero13🎉 Anyone who says otherwise is paid.
It’s the worst mate. And I don’t own any of those, not even planning to buy. It’s just off. I guess it’s down to personal taste
Great video and everything is explained very well.
Thanks!
Yeeees! The video I was waiting for, I just wish Insta Go camera was in this comparison too.
I was waiting for insta ace pro 2 to release. I had to choose dji osmo action 5 pro for my holiday.
I don't regrate after seeing your video.
I have the DJI osmo pocket 3 and the osmo action 5 it works perfect together and the mic is superb
2:30 insta is better here.
The image quality is a bit better by ACE pro 2, but I prefer AC5 pro because of the dual screen and ease of use. Besides, ACE pro 1 is still very good, I think those who already own it do not need to upgrade to ace pro 2
Nice video as always! Cheers!
Looks like there’s some problem’s with the ace pro 2. Everything related to the camera is out of stock everywhere in the eu, across all major camera stores. The plot thickens!
Does the Ace Pro 2 have live streaming via the Insta app or some way?
I'd like to see a slightly larger sensor in an action cam, similar to the Osmo Pocket 3's. That would boost low light performance, where these action cams usually fall short. Regarding the DJI, I don't like having to side load their app. Their app needs to be made available through the Play Store.
@@johnbranham9756 DJI Mimo app is in the iOS Play Store.
Thanks~
Should should make of all three with just 4k for your base comparison. C
Was the low light shots on DJI using super night mode?
Super night mode is also crazy feature you should've mentioned.
As usual top 🔝
Thanks 🙏
I’m happy the dji holds up, the design is 100x better than the ace. The flip screen on the ace is so clunky and corny its so bad
Exactly that it is too big a screen and too big a camera
I don't hate the flip screen but having owned the Ace Pro, its just way to LARGE and heavy... all action cams have grown in size over the last 5+ years, but I feel with Ace Pro they crossed an invisible line that really makes it not ideal for mounting etc. The Action 5 Pro is the smallest of the big 3 and has way better build quality and the front and rear touchscreens are a nice touch.
That flip screen is a prime candidate for getting damaged in action!
@@QuicknStraight yeah the dji is the only way to go
i agree with this, i cant put acepro 2 on my helmet, flipping the screen?, meh
Unfortunately, if you use multiple cameras in log and color grade the Ace Pro takes a hit without 10 bit color since real professional cameras all have at least 10 bit including your 2 main competitors. The Ace Pro needs to remove the “Pro” from its name. GoPro needs some feature upgrades, but for daytime cinematic results, it still rules. And I don’t mean the 13 because the 12 is the same camera without a few auto lenses.
Which audio was better between the DJI and Insta360?
I don't know. I think DJI. Looks like the best and it is the newest
I wonder what the Ace pro 3's going to look like
kill the flip screen, whole point of an action camera.
Just bought Action5 but might test the Ace2. I need to know two things. Battery life on Ace2 and how does the Ace2 look at 2X indoors.
DJI is 20% cheaper and better in a lot of situations Authentech lies about
Seems it would be hard to compare stabilization when 1 camera is much further off the center of the handheld post. Moving much more
why dont they give us something like Action 5 AF (with 1inch and autofocus). Let it be less durable, it's ok if you dont use it in real action. Pocket 3 has it and the footage looks the best, but i dont like the body of pocket 3 (fragile gimbal, rptating screen, built in battery).
I’ve been asking for this for years.
Do we need to pay subscription to use the Insta360? Which one of these is the most durable since they are all "action" cameras?
No subscription needed to use insta360 cameras nor editing software
just the mount for tripod/selfie-stick ... why not the standed 1/4 screw?
biggest thing for me, low light handling. i thought DJI image/color handling had a slight edge over Insta. but overall, Insta. those were little trade-offs. but the app made the huge difference that DJI and even GoPro gotta catch up.
I think it’s worth waiting for gopro 14 with the new processor it will be on par with acepro 2 low light performance
1:1 shooting is a great selling point for gopro and it can acquire even larger fov with new processor.
I still believe GoPro and dji have more natural tone
Not sure GoPro will introduce the new chip next year or they will wait for gopro 15
I wouldn’t expect anything special from GoPro. They’ve disappointed time and time again. What was their upgrade this year? Sell you a bunch of extra accessories? Whoopty doo. I’m not impressed!
It's not about the processor, it's about the fact that GP keep recycling the same 1/2.0 sensor, while DJI and Insta use 1/1.3.
Good to see an honest review! Guess DJI wins this year.
Colors on GoPro so bad
The AcePro is not durable. The screen will crack if you use it for motorcycling.
Nah, with GoPro it's all in the settings bro. Not a good review...
I have been a go pro user for years, I really like that insta pro. But at 70 dollars more, I just can't justify it.
