  • Part 6 of the series Church History
This is an intensely listenable look at the the Christian Church down the ages, providing powerful messages for our own times. Many church members know little or nothing about the story of Christianity between the New Testament period and today. They therefore may not realise how much they have been influenced by traditions developed during that time. These can have both a negative and positive benefit. Negative, because ‘those who forget history are condemned to relive it’. Most of the mistakes we make and errors we fall into have happened before and we can learn from our forefathers to avoid them. Positive, because we have such a rich heritage it would be folly to ignore. We can draw inspiration and examples from the spiritual giants who went before us and, after all, we can look forward to meeting them personally in glory.

Such a strong similarity between the social times of the 18th C and the beginning of the 21st.
Those of us in the hot water in our faith need to recognise that we most probably are able to cope with the heat because we’ve allowed the temperature to be increased as we cope with it over time. To that end we should recognise that situation for others to be able to mature as the Spirit grows with them.

Brother Pawson is a great scholar. His teachings on every book of the Bible is excellent. Now Church History from a very practical viewpoint. Not just facts but how they affect the Body of Christ today. One small error. Zinzendorf lived in Berthelsdorf. When the Moravians came to him, he built the village of Herrnhut for them to live in. Today the main road goes thru Herrnhut and Berthelsdorf is off less than a mile to the East off the beaten path. Zinzendorf is buried in Herrnhut.
