I bought ego mini bike about a month ago I’m nearing 400 miles and use four 12.0 batteries the third in the cargo and the fourth in a camel pack. I’m 240 dry and I don’t live in a flat area, hills everywhere most are decent and give the bike one hell of a work out. Keeping this in mind With my weight and only two 12 amp hour batteries the bike can only get to 26 mph and with the steepest longest hill I ride about 1/4 mile the bike manages 24 if I start out at the bottom it takes a minute to get to that speed. If I ride on a route with least hills as possible carrying all four twelve’s I can squeeze 39 miles on a single ride. If I navigate my routes on the most hills possible I can squeeze about 22 miles on four twelves. If I carry one twelve and two 7.5’s in a camel pack that brings my total weight to 278 lbs adding this to the weight of the bike itself with three twelves I’m sure the total weight is passing 500lbs I’m very impressed with what this mini bike can do!
Love mine so far. 50 miles on it. Impressed with the build quality. The range is the only thing that seems to be inflated. I'm only getting 20 miles or so with 2 12 AH batteries.
Once they release the new technology in batteries it's going to change everything! Smaller very inexpensive fast charging and long rides for going long distances won't be a problem.
Thanks for the test. I just got the Greenworks 60V minibike with the 8.0ah battery's and so far about 7 miles was as far as i could go on a single pack at a time but i am about 216 pounds so almost at the max weight. that was mostly gravel and dirt terrain for me, I am sure smooth level surface would do better. Someone also told me to try using both battery's together even if I am just in eco mode.
I bet swapping the brake fluid reservoirs out with some motul rbf600 and maybe the front forks with better maybe heavier maxima fork oil would make a big difference.
Can you lock the battery compartment in case you have to park the bike for a few minutes? I’m assuming so if the backup storage battery compartment can be locked (or appears to be lockable from the video) at 4:36.
I have a mower from 2014 a first gen also one I bought in 2019 I believe it's a 2018 I have two weed wackers and a hedger also a backpack blower I will eventually make my way to one of these.
Just wondering. How much do you weigh? I am 132. Just checked... Rider weight has a fair effect on range. I have almost the full line of ego. Z6, edgers, whackers, power plus with all the attachments, light, inverter and saws. I have a ton of the batteries from 2.5 to 10 ah. You said it takes 12ah. I assume the 10 will work as well right? Only ask because I like it and can get the one for 1200 with no batteries. Worth it?
@@electricisbetter . I fI heard you correctly in the video, you claimed that as large as a 12AH battery would fit? Would that be 2, 12 AH batteries that could fit in there with a 3rd, 12 AH battery in the storage area?
Man I used to ride for days on a 2-3hp minibike up the 35-40mph aunt chased Me to verify topspeed no suspension scrub breaks I feel like society has stepped back some
How far we've regressed that our standard for a motorcycle is that it be able to go 20 miles... :( Even mopeds from the 1980s could go 30mph and go about 120-150 miles per tank.

Thank you so much. You have single-handedly provided me more information than anything I could find so far on these mini bikes.

I know it's not going to happen, but if these were $999, I'd own one in a heartbeat. $1999 is just a bit too much for me.
I feel the same I love the bike but the price turns me off there are so many better bikes that are similar but better in every category dang near.
The price for the bike only is $1400...
Yes! If I had 2k I would buy two!
...oh, wait.....never mind
Don't look at the price of replacement batteries then. 😉 I know the big batteries for that thing are around $350... each. You need two.
I wonder if my kobalt 80-volt batteries will fit in that thing?
FINALLY A RANGE TEST! Thank you!
Throw a couple more 7.5s in a backpack and you’re golden!

Nice review.. i like this bike and am trying to talk my Dad into getting one so he can ride with us.

Hmmm, ego fans are 20 inchers ....🤣
I love this bike just wish it was less on cost. Do you need a license or tags from dmv for this bike

Hey is it possible to use 2 10amp batteries to improve distance?
Will higher AH batteries physically fit in the bike's battery socket(s)?
Yes!

Bought mine tool only. I use a 7.5 and a 5.0 battery. In sport, in my hilly little town, I get like 9 miles till one green bar on each battery.
All my batteries don't have any of the bars on top just to let you know of the age I just used my weed wacker blower and mower on Sunday may 19th 2024
Would love to see what it can do with the 2 12ah

Not a motorcycle, and nobody was quoting a standard but you...just so you could trash talk.
put some street tires on that and it will be dead silient.
