    Hey just wanted to say good job on the video. I have a 1990 D21 st.cab 4x4. I just wanted to say that the only difference is that the bottom bolt has a factory welded nut on the bracket.

    Great video. Just wanted to add that on my 95 model the bottom bolt was 19mm instead of 17mm. The nut was still 17mm tho.

    Can I install 2.5" rough country Lift shocks on a

  • @deadsypadilla

    Compress new shock with hands on top and body weight...on flat floor. When compresst, use a strip of duct tape to hold the shock compresst. Around plastic boot to shock. Around - not up and down. It held fine and always put top in first, through bottom.

    • @SuperchargedPathfinder
      @SuperchargedPathfinder  5 років тому

      True. I use a pry bar to force the shock down after getting the lower bolt started.

    • @deadsypadilla
      @deadsypadilla 5 років тому +1

      @@SuperchargedPathfinder You simply turn shock upside down on a board, easily compress with body weight- use duct tape around the shock boot to shock to Hold compression. Put top in first- so, from the bottom, put the compresst shock into top bolt mount and use Jack to ease the bottom bolt in. There's more: Nissan has a small Jack, with long skinny bar. Use a cordless drill on low, to raise and lower. Put the tire you take off under the frame- if something fails: the truck tire will stop severe accident. I use glue lam header boards. 6-2"x6" glued together for fall insurance.

      Depends on the shock. Kyb monomax shocks dont compress under my body weight.

    PS - mine is. 92 D21 with original shocks that need replacing! Any recommendations on shocks? Which were the ones from the green truck?

    • @SuperchargedPathfinder
      @SuperchargedPathfinder  7 років тому +1

      Green has KYB Monomax shocks front and rear. Red now has Green's old shocks which are KYB Gas A Just. Both are excellent shocks.

      Hold the upper tip of shock with needle nose or other vise grips if the shock begins to rotate while loosening / tightening the upper nut.
