iFixit more companies should do this! And upgrade optical quality. Because this phone suffers from success - the shallow DoF makes AF awful, and I bet they could fix that too. But it should be helpful in low light!

Sollous I’m sure it’s possible but probably at the expense of image quality. I heard of some people modding that same periscope camera in the P30 Pro from last year but I haven’t seen much improvements that made it seem worth it. Only ever came across one article on some oddball website a few months back, and the before and after modding photos that were in that article looked to be only minimally less grainy than taking a photo with the before modded camera then zooming in on that photo. If I can find that article again I will post it here if you like so you can see what you think of the difference in the before and after photos (I’m am in no way a photography expert so there may have been a few more differences than what I could tell from my untrained eyes lol)
Of course it's possible but the gap between samsung and other competitors would be huge so they improve their hardware slightly so the choice of people would be hard.
Omid Rastin Not really. Huawei used this periscope setup last year And the 108mp sensor for the main camera has been used in a few phones before Samsung bought any (Samsung doesn’t make their camera sensors, they buy them like pretty much everyone else does)

Regarding replacing the screen , genuine service packs come basically like @2:20 but without the battery and has been like that since the s8 so don't have to worry about removing it from the midframe like you did at the end of the video. You say you hate taking them off when you don't really need to, making a screen replacement just a case of plonking the boards and other small parts from the old screen to the other. Part from that though I enjoyed the video :)
Samsung could have made the body thicker, making the back flush with the current camera bump, allowing a bigger battery. And possibly allowing easier repair access. Instead they went with marketing hype; 'it's a thin phone' {small print} except for the camera bump. What a wasted opportunity.
Good stuff iFixit but along with the short teardown vids make a longer one with step by step details then link to the description After the teardown do a 'fix' version bringing the device back in full working condition. That'd be great.

Nah thanks, i’d rather personally drag my balls across glass, nail them to a board of wood, and then slowly poison myself to death before i even consider the S20 as an even relatively good phone. The S10 is better than this sorry POS in pretty much every way. It’s sad to think how in 2017 Samsung was completely destroying apple in design and quality, but now it’s the complete opposite.
