This actually rebukes the rationale Samsung said when addressing the lack of the headphone jack. There's DEFINITELY space on the bottom to fit a headphone jack.
Samsung never said there was no space for a headphonejack, I think they are just starting the transition later than Apple did. Don't like it though, so I'm gonna stay with my Note 9.
Why is the lack of headphone jack affecting the repairability score? You may not like the lack of it, but why does its absence make repair more difficult?
Not sure but I think it's because they're saying the USB C port will be used more often as it doubles for charging and listening to audio. Meaning it will wear out quicker and require more frequent repairs than last Notes.
And from design aspect the 3.5mm jack is much durable compared to type-c i guess, cuz never have i had any issues with my headphone jack even though its used way more than the usb port.
@@TFQ1 had to replace headphone jacks at my shop more often then charging ports, but because of headphones getting stuck in the jack when they're yanked not really the port's fault. Most charging port repairs are just people who gets some gunk stuck in it and it takes a few minutes to scrape out.
In my old samsung i usually use usb port like twice a day for charging and aux like 20-30 times a day after a year its my usb port which failed and i felt aux port is generally more durable than usb port. sometimes cotton gets into my aux jack from my pocket but that u can easily remove by yourself using a toothpick or a safety pin.
I have seen so much Samsung Galaxy Note 10 unboxing good the way you do it way you open this phone the way you show the all the parts of the cell and it is incredible I really love you.
I disagree with the mention of the lack of a headphone jack in the repairability score. The two things are not related. A headphone jack may decrease the lifespan of the usb-c port, but it will not affect how easy it is to be replaced.
1:12 there's an area of copper exposed that matches the shape of the area where the soc looks to have some grayish looking thermal material 1:14 as opposed to paste. This contacts the large copper sheet on the underside of the screen. I'm assuming this to be the "world's slimmest vaper chamber" they were touting. Pretty cool design really....that is if it's effective of course.
@Courtney King Not true at all. USB PD 3.0 outputs 15V/3A. No single LiPo battery can accept 15V charge directly without conversion so the phone needs to converts that to (ie 4.2V) internally. Expect higher heat output when using 45W charger, it will heat up by design.
One plus 7pro uses the lens to scan fingerprint. That's why that's the fastest fingerprint right now in the market. Samsung should've used that instead of ultrasonic
thank god they made the type-c modular. cuz in s10 it was a part of the whole mother board, thanks for the inspiration apple!. And also the usb-c is gonna wear out much faster than before as theres no headphone jack.
I meant s10 none modular design was inspired by apple. The type-c of s10 is stuck onto the mother board which means if your type c port broke then u have to change the whole motherboard. Something which apple has being doing with their phones. Thankfully Note 10 made the type-c port modular when they removed the headphome jack as type-c will wear out even faster now.
One quick question Whil installing the UV screen protector, excessive glue just got into the side frame and S-pen slot. Will it create any mess? Please advise
I just bought note 10 plus and was searching whole net and cant find complete answer now is it bad or defective if mine note 10+ has hair thick gaps between screen and frame and frame back glass ? I can slip very thin paper but nothing bigger is that with every phone who is big and has curved screen i hope u wil answer

I was waiting for Jerry to rig it 😂
Zach
Jerry, has posted his tear down of the Samsung note-10 5G
@@rodneyanderson7488 thats durability test and not teardown.
Me too
i was about to comment this !!!
where's the S pen...? and the S pen holder area?
0:40 It’s the white rectangle on the left
0:49 the white strip on left of the battery
How dumb can one be...
I've never been so unexcited for a note launch
This actually rebukes the rationale Samsung said when addressing the lack of the headphone jack.
There's DEFINITELY space on the bottom to fit a headphone jack.
I agree. Earphone jack or at least a second USB-C port.
Samsung never said there was no space for a headphonejack, I think they are just starting the transition later than Apple did. Don't like it though, so I'm gonna stay with my Note 9.
Unlesss they remove the s pen its a little cramped. I assume the s11 will have a headphone jack
@@peachulemon it won't
This is a lie
Jerry Rig needs to use that IsoPropyl Alcohol thing for the battery... He goes full in using his pry tools, since samsung doesnt give a pull tab.
And that what makes it funny for me its not a down side
@@baselsamer5915 No, because you throw it away before the battery dies out? Our planet feels ashamed for people like you!

Zack may want to give this one a clear back. Looks pretty good inside.
Even the iFix it guys didn't liked the removal of the headphone jack.

Yup what that guy said, no headphone jack means more wear and tear on that poor little usb c port :(
And from design aspect the 3.5mm jack is much durable compared to type-c i guess, cuz never have i had any issues with my headphone jack even though its used way more than the usb port.

Well done iFixit
world's best TEARDOWN channel, love your all videos, it is very educational
Bass pick used to take apart my phone, excellent. great video,Thanks.
What a wonderful jumper! This video lets me know that circuit design of Iphone is so good.
So that's what 1,100 dollars gets you 😂

The teardown looked so natural...!!!
Ur better of with the previous model...
Why is it mother/daughter board and not father/son board? The oppression of man must end now!! :-P
Cuz father is an S-Pen.
You need to switch frames even more fast, why wait for the whole 0.3 sec?
Great teardown and explanation - well done iFixit 👍😀
Jerry won’t be happy 👀
Vapor chamber is very interesting on this one 👍🏽

I'll stick to my Note 4 with open back cover , audio jack and even infra red port.
That slow ass phone

Zak be late. He did break the S Pen in half though.
If disconnecting a few cables gives it a lower repairability score, then we're fckn doomed as a human race.
What do you call those circular things clamping down the motherboard? I’ve been locking for those for awhile. 1:31
Just look for "circuit board clamp", they serve the same purpose, hold down the board with minimal force and no conductivity.
AMA Thanks will do!
Yay goodie. The lower the score the more you can charge for repairs
nice work, keep it up.
I guessed that you would use heat. Where's my prize at ifixit?
Wow, you're faster than jerryrigeverything!
"Edit"
No heat pipe like the note 9. Curious how the thermals compare, especially with 45 watt charging.
I guess its there, they simply didnt show it to us. Even i wanted to see it, to know how big and well designed it is
1:12 there's an area of copper exposed that matches the shape of the area where the soc looks to have some grayish looking thermal material 1:14 as opposed to paste. Is it possible to swap the chips to upgrade storage from 256GB to 512GB?

I heard the reverse wireless charging is faster is it?
How do I replace the buttons? The power button on mine fell off somehow.
Cool internals
One plus 7pro uses the lens to scan fingerprint. That's why that's the fastest fingerprint right now in the market. Samsung should've used that instead of ultrasonic
where is the coolant liquid?
I was expecting a big battery size than that
Can't wait
My note 9 has pen envy.
Think of the headphone jack and not having a hole in the screen (which in turn reduces screen real estate), and you should be OK.
Where is the old voice.... She was a charm of the video
Where's the vibration motor? I've noticed an improvement on my Note10+. Is it similar to the iPhone's?
The only negative things I see are, No headphone Jack, and the screen replacement.
Is the rear camera glass cover replaceable? Or is it part of the rear panel/Cover
What music for backgroud?? Sound nice
My note 10 + screws literally won’t spin how do I get them out withought stripping the screws

Which is better between snap dragon and exynos processor?
in raw performance: Snapdragon, on power Efficiency: seems to be on par
Does the lack of a headphone jack really contribute to repairability?
So there is space for an headphone jack
weren't Samsung the ones who took the piss of apple for ditching the headphone jack
Charging port is modular, yay for consumers unlike S10+ where it is soldered on the motherboard.
The USB-C port on the Note9 is completely modular, even more so than the Note10.
Even that Samsung is trying to copy the iPhone's Internals on their phones
Stacked motherhood?? Well they dont have a choice until they make printed motherboards
Some iphone internals r made by samsung no wonder y they look same to u
You beat Jerryrigeverything to it.
Disconnecting em connectors like a little lego
where to get note 10 plus parts?
I'm actually shocked that they sold more than the Note 9 on release
Not that of a surprise. One device vs. (technical) 2,5. And there's now a smaller one many people asked for.
