Mostly it depends what sort of things they experienced in childhood other than being ignored by the parents. But in such cases mostly insecure-avoidant attachment or disorganised attachment are common.

Actually I am passionate about this topic because I had an avoidant attachment in the past and I am working with a really good therapist who helped me heal a lot and become primarily secure which has helped me a lot. I can still have few moments where my fear of vulnerability comes up at times but I am much better at handling it now.
