CORRECTION: Ryan Blaney won Stage 1, not Kyle Larson
I was going to say
It was a good race. Can we talk sometime?
NBC having a post race a 1 hour long. Me: am a in reality?
NBC is back baby! I ESPECIALLY cannot wait for Leigh Diffey. Remember, Rick Allen is only calling this race and the next 5 races. Leigh Diffey won’t debut until after the Olympics.
He’s gonna bring the energy
Much better tv coverage than Fox Sports
Todd Gilliland had a career night and I couldn't be more happy as a fan.
Iowa 🌽 proved tonight they deserve a cup date. Love this race. Everything was fantastic but the dumb Hemric caution that killed the awesome strategy. Thank you Rusty for this great race track.
As a Richmond defender, the first 6 seconds was disrespectful Jett...
come on mannnn🤣
Sorry 😬
Man NBC Killed it they covered nascar better than Fox Sports
Correcttion... Larson didn't through it away.. He was taken out by a driver driving above his talent level. Should have never happened
Larson is a too smart to have put himself in that situation...driving into the middle of a tight three wide. He had the best car. A little patience, and he would have passed those guys on the next lap.
@@LyleFrancisDelp i think larson was js tryna enjoy some actual good short track racing tbh
Yeah, I Agree.
NBC, Should SERIOUSLY, Broadcast The ENTIRE, NASCAR Cup Series Season, With The Budweiser Shootout At DAYTONA, DAYTONA 500 Qualifying, Speedweeks, The DAYTONA Duels, And Lastly, And ESPECIALLY, The DAYTONA 500.
You gotta understand Larson is not Larson if he isn’t aggressive that’s his whole thing it’s easy to Monday morning quarterback but he has to be him
I genuinely did not expect this race to be really good especially with the repave. Really good race and one of the best short track races of the NG era. Also NBC absolutely killed it. It made a good race into a great race.
Larson didn't throw away the race, low talent needs to loose his ride for a good driver Suarez wrecked him. Larson flew back threw the field all the way back to the front and would have won. I saw on other videos people blamed Hamlin and said he caused the wreck, I can't stand crybaby whiner Hamlin but he didn't cause or start the wreck. I'm a Chase Fan GO Chase #9
Iowa was a fun Race different groove drivers can use NBC coverage is an breathe of fresh air and kyle throw away another one
I agree NBC did a great job compared to Fox .
What a race, eh?!? And thank gawd for NBC! I missed Dale initially, but after a while, I really enjoyed the booth.
CORN!🌽🌽
I appreciated that NBC didn't wait a million years to show a replay whenever there was an incident
I'm a big Larson fan, but alas, it as his own fault. Saurez is not in over his head. He's a capable driver, but everyone can get loose in a fast, tight three wide situation.
Larson is too smart to put himself in that situation. He drove into the middle of a tight three wide, on a corner...fully knowing his side draft on Saurez would have taken the air off his side. Kez pinched down...a totally legit move to defend. And Saurez got loose, and had to move up.
A little patience, and Larson would have passed those guys on the next lap anyway.
He had the best car on track.
8.5/10 race. Was fun watching all the comers and goers. Glad Suarez got a top 10 at the end of all that
NBC > FOX
Larson once again forced a bad situation because of impatience.
He had the fastest car and should have won this race, but he forced his car into the middle 3 wide at a bumpy track where cars get sketchy in the corners. Suarez got loose, and there was no room for error, and that was totally on Larson. Sad to see people immediately blame Suarez and use this as an opportunity to knock him.
Nah Suarez fan here that was 100% his fault.
I’m not denying that Suarez is at fault but multiple times Larson has put his car in situations that increases the chances of him getting in a crash. He had the fastest car, why are you trying to force a lane in the middle on a restart when you don’t need to. Even Larson himself acknowledged that after the race
Blah blah blah...way too many words to describe nothing issues...
New drinking game for this podcast - everyone takes a shot each time Keselowski’s name is misprounounced.
The pit stop before last Blaney took 4 when everybody else took 2 that’s why he took 2 when everybody took 4 on the last pit stop
Truex was in the back all day because he got a speeding penalty on pit road and went three laps down after a drive through penalty . It took him several laps and cautions to get back in the lead lap and he finished 15th . I'd call that a good finish after a rotten day .
I wouldn’t be so critical of Larson considering with these cars everyone is more aggressive on restarts because there are better passing opportunities and people were pushing 3 wide all day long on the restart now if Larson would of tried passing 4 wide then I could see the over aggressive issue there but Larson is just a naturally aggressive driver and I do agree that it does come back to bite him sometimes but I don’t think this was out of the ordinary of what we saw at that point in the race
One reason why I think this was a good race cause Nascar let teams have an hour practice. Teams really got to study n work on their setup n cars for Iowa.
Nascar has to drop FOX immediately i dont care about harvick and bowyer they suck at play by play and mike joy isnt the same and the quality of fox is foggy compared to ultra hd nbc
NBC did a bad job of the NASCAR race coverage
Richmond/Rockingham combo
Rockingmond?
Richmondham?
idk
Man that was fun! Besides a couple of cautions that weren’t supposed to be cautions. But yeah, fun race!
It's to bad aero and clean air still decides winner outcomes at short tracks and road courses instead of who has the better cars
Hope Iowa gets the 2 Richmond dates
I know he did not just say he is looking forward to New Hampshire 💀
Yes I did
I love NBC!
I helped a neighbor bet on the race and he picked Larson and boy was it looking good until he wrecked the SOB especially since I told him that had he won, he’d look like a genius. I was so upset when I heard he wrecked. Can’t say I didn’t try. As my parents taught me, it’s like food: You never know until you try. Sounds like Iowa put on a helluva show tonight for the inaugural Winston Cup Race! Makes me happy!
Well my prediction couldn't have been more right honestly. Blaney won Stenhouse finished top 5 and Haley top 10
First Top 10 of the season for Stenhouse if you exclude the Superspeedways
Larson didn’t throw it away, he got dumped by someone who is driving over his head
