Having Leigh Diffey announce Harrison Burton’s first Cup win gave me chills up my spine because Jeff Burton announced his son’s first win. I’m glad to witness to see Wood Brothers to score their 100th win even though I’m not a big fan of the current playoff format with the win and your in since I personally think that Bubba Wallace and Ross Chastain deserve to make it over Harrison Burton even though I am not discrediting Harrison’s first win.
But the constant overtime finishes are a bit of an annoyance. I believe that this was the 4th straight week of having a cup race finish in OT. But, at least it wasn't a "dick" finish like Richmond. Plus, Diffey was serving up some barbecued HYPE in the booth. Can't wait for more chaos at Darlington. Also, Cody Ware and Parker Retzlaff... Where did they come from!? I completely agree with you. This race was absolute MANIA.
It was a pretty awesome race. And yeah, when the Suarez fire happened, you just knew it was going to be an exciting night. I hate it for Josh Berry, but very happy for the young Harrison Burton.
7:37, I'm just now realizing this. How was it even a controversy in the first place? They said they were investigating if burton advanced his position but he was clearly the leader when he went below the yellow? How tf does that even become a consideration
@@karendarrenmclaren Gilliland's dad won one Busch race and made a NASCAR career out of it and even started his own team. He was a no name until he won at Kentucky then everyone wanted to hire him.
That was one helluva kick ass race! I LOVED it! Makes me excited for Atlanta in 2 weeks and Talladega in the Chase! Gonna be fun! I’m happy for Harrison but simultaneously I’m gonna be realistic and admit he has no business being in the Chase along with any other underdog drivers even if it’s someone I root for but regardless how I feel about it, I will always love feel good underdog stories! And thank the Lord McDowell and Berry are OK! The latter of the 2 scared the HELL out of me! I like that NASCAR tried that right side window rail in attempt to keep the cars on the ground but to nobody’s surprise, the shit didn’t work. Stuff like this is why I LOVE Plate Racing! Harrison Burton: 25.88 avg fin (worst among all full time drivers); 34th in points (worst among all full time drivers). Also Harrison Burton: wins at Daytona; is now qualified into the 2024 Cup Series Playoffs 2024 NASCAR Cup Series Chase for the Championship Ladies and Gentleman!
If NASCAR does not change the underbody of this car we are going to see one of these cars in the catchfence soon. I do not want to see that with this car.
I enjoyed the race as well too from start to finish glad that both cars that were flip Michael McDowel and Josh Barry are fine they may never prevent cars from flipping that's inevitable with cars going 190mph but they can improve it by doing modifications here an there.
This is a really good race, where the context of the race brings it down significantly. Can't wait to have one of the worst RO16s to ever occur, between Suarez, Cindric, Dillon (if NASCAR didn't remove his eligibility for Richmond), and Burton. The Brock Beard video pretty much sums it up; the Harrison Burton win pretty much got overshadowed by the playoffs, and unlike how it was with McDowell's, Stenhouse, and even Suarez's win this season, it wasn't like it was with a driver who was even close to 16th to begin with. Honestly, the 400-miler with the Next Gen seems to be the better race with the Gen 7. Must be the summer heat. Or the stage lengths. Curious to see how this package handles Atlanta, and Talladega (which has suffered a lot with the Next Gen). I know people complain about not being able to really make moves if you're in the back, but honestly, that's just plate racing. I recall plenty of both Truck and Xfinity series races in the last decade and a half being the same way
For me personally... it would have been the best gen 7 race if Kyle Busch won after having terrible luck since the season started, overall not bad, cool to see a driver get their first win, although I also saw Tyler Reddick win his first race... and Crybubba wallace but that wasn't exciting... Overall Kyle winning being better is just my opinion, but gosh damn this race had me on the edge of my seat for almost the entire race.
Have to disagree other than Steve Letarte NBC whole announcing team need to be replaced they totally SUCK. Thanks for keeping your video under 15 minutes and getting right to the action.
Shot out to mic Duffy if that is his name calling the race play by play seems like they put the right guy doing commentary, and let's not for get Jimmie Johnson on his take on the race as well doing some commentary too.
That's what bummed me out about Kyle not winning, Kyle is very close and yet a driver who had never won before is locked into to the playoffs, and if not Kyle, others also had a chance and they either got screwed over or couldn't make it.
Yeah that's true but still y can't blame Harrison Burton for winning Daytona and now being in the playoffs and I get that you don't like the playoffs but still NASCAR will never get rid of the playoffs system that we have now so you might as well get used to it.
Harrison Burton is the flukiest driver to qualify for the playoffs of all time. Congrats to Harrison getting his first win but the playoff qualification just doesn’t sit well with me. It is what is NASCAR wanted this kind of stuff.
Harrison burton got the worst win in nascar history he is last in the regular season points and makes the playoffs goodbye nascar me another Busch fans will never watch race again

@@PaperBanjo64Fingers crossed that Darlington ends with a regulation finish.
@shaneharrisnj3484 at this rate I would be shock if the rest of the season ends with a green-white-checker finish.
It's had it all already, fights, flips, first time winners, epic battles, I just wish it was a gen 6 car season.

Harrison Burton is the perfect pick for Spire to have in their #7 next year
He is dead last in points. Showed no speed for three previous years. Miraculously won by coincidence.

Harrison Burton is a NASCAR Cup Series Winner before GTA 6
NASCAR's gonna have to do way more to figure out how to stop the cars from catching air
They're not going to stop, and everyone needs to accept that. You can't exactly break the laws of aerodynamics.

Yes
I mean tbf we've been so used to Ryan Sieg since like 2011 so it's basically an instinct to say "Ryan" when referring to his brother.
