the Swiss girl has a more neutral french accent than the French one

Nope

Lets start a war in the comment section!
I swear its a good idea. Totaly not gonna make the original commenters phone blow up... (sarcasm)
I come from a place in France famous for no accent. And I kinda agree in this video.
The French girls have a little cute accent in her voice that I can't rely localised and the Swiss don't have (at least for the few word we heard) the typical Swiss accent.
But they are all cute at the end.
The only difference among is just Sophia😂 ,she from US and american english , the other two , Belgium and Switzerland are the same sound
Isn’t French taught in Belgium and Switzerland regularly?

not just taught, but spoken@@MS-vk9ph
Sophia was very lucky that this show wasn't the hammer version🤣Marie would have been busy🤣, by the way, Sophia is always so ANGELIC😉
she's the therapist :D
Too right , the hammer or Sophia`s head would of been worn out !!!.
I’m American but I have never heard anyone pronounce the T in Saint for the brand. I had never heard of the brand Jacquemus before this channel but most Americans where I am from pronounce the name Jacques like Jock so I think that would be their first assumption. That being said I met a lady where I live now in the Midwest whose daughter’s name is Jacque and I read it at first as Jock only to find out her name is pronounced like Jackie. So I think some Americans might pronounce it like Jah kee.
I'm French and I've never heard of Jacquemus before. I looked it up and it looks like it was only launched about 10 years ago.
People til that loves ancient french and ancient english pronounces all letters includes the final T, it's not common but exists.
5:07
that was personal.
that was felt by every single one of her ancestors.
I'm so American I've never even heard of Givenchy or Jacquemus. I only know Hermes as the messenger of the Greek gods. The other words have some parts that are also English words (Saint, Christian), so we tend to say those the American way, and then make a half-ass attempt at saying the other part in a pseudo-French way, which usually results in French people being very upset and asking for the Statue of Liberty back.
Poor people moment 😅
You've never heard about Givenchy? Wow
@@ommsterlitz1805 Yeah, it's too bad there's not a French fashion house focusing on flannel shirts, blue jeans and steel-toe boots like I wear to work, although I'll admit I didn't look very hard for one.
I'm left to get the holes in my blue jeans the old-fashioned way.
@@EddieReischlBlue Jeans are literally a French invention lmao
@@ommsterlitz1805 That's interesting. I would have guessed Levi Strauss or someone like that.
Sophia is just amazing 🤗
The french girl has a very slight foreign accent in every of the videos. I am not sure she should teach others.
She emphasis the en-an sounds a very tiny bit at times, the way english speakers would. Swiss girl has a proper pronunciation.
i agree
She probably lost her accent living abroad.
Are you dumb ? Their are many accents in france
My mum is fully french born & grew up there but when she moved to the uk after years her accent died a bit so i think thats probably the same case for her but i also agree w u bc w my mum having a weak accent it made it harder for me to understand perfectly whenever id go to France
Many words of origin when they go to another country or language they change their pronunciation, this explains the "American sound" of these French brands
Would have been far more interesting with just one french speaking person and three non-french speaking person.
Yes, I am French and I agree with that. There is no point here because all the people in the video use the same French with different accents on the sentences only, except for the poor American girl. I don't really like the way this French girl talks about her accent. She was all alone and it looked like she was being made fun of during the entire video. Not very nice. Maybe people don't see it but... it's a common thing in France. Making Americans look stupid when they try to pronounce French words. I do not like it.
Sophia is my lover, her laugh is very beautiful!❤
all of u 4 r so beautiful, love you guys.
Je dois avouer que la jeune femme belge est absolument charmante. Elle dégage une certaine grâce.
Cela fait plaisir de comparer avec nos voisins de Belgique et de Suisse, que, d'ailleurs, je salue.
Why wasn't there anyone from the UK and Australia also included in this video, especially someone from the UK since it's close enough to the other three European countries.
"we don't have words in the US with a C and a Q"
Hold my acquisition...
She's not acquainted with those words...
I mean it's words that comes directly from French 😅
We had a hearing before a grand jury and then a trial in Wisconsin and begged the jury to show Sophia mercy. She was acquitted.
@@EddieReischl I'm deeply relieved.
Sophia is like an awaken dream. So beautiful!!
I love Sophia. I might not know her but I think I'm inlove with her personality and voice.. 🥰
Who'd have thought that neighboring countries with a high percentage of French speakers pronounce french correctly!
Sophia sis, If you're reading this hii✌️
Love Sophie
Sophia is so cuuuuuute
If they got North American French speakers on they would probably see a bigger difference since the vowel sounds in North American varieties tend to differ quite drastically from European French.
I don't suppose that there are any French-speakers from Louisiana (or northern New England) who are wandering around Seoul and could take part in these French language videos.
That would be really interesting.
That be interesting or creole
@@nightlyrowentree6047 Also French from African and Arabic countries.
@@AT-rr2xw ohh yess
There is a "French brands" video each 3 months. See you in december.
French language is always the fanciest and very hard to pronounce for Vietnamese people, so I'm kinda surprised that she said American language is more sophisticated.
Fancy😂😂😂 you always have to spit when you try talk the kkhh 🤮
@@wafae-2746 Oh I agree with that, the specific pronunciation you talk about is not that fancy🤣🤣
But despite of that pronunciation, still, French's the most romantic and fanciest language.
As a French person, I am very surprised to learn that French seems so chic to other countries because French is basically a "boring" language when you pronounce it. We don't have any accentuation so when I hear English or Americans speaking with their round or drawling accent, I find it sexy or sophisticated. Italian is really classy for us to hear and Asian languages or Russian are really very exotic for us. French looks fancy but it is very "flat" compared to Spanish which is really very close but punctuated with pretty accents.
@@bambiclumsyfawn you are right its boring and a bit ugly sometimes( (when there are a lot of r in the word or sentenze)
Shopia and Lucie are so adorable.
Hi everyone,
I think that saying "the french/swiss or belgian accent" is a kind of restriction for the whole country.
I am from Switzerland and there is plenty of different accents, and that's the same for Belgium and France of course.
It would be a better comparaison to see all Swiss accent, then frenches and belgians to see the difference
I wish, instead of having an American, they had a Canadian from the French speaking regions of Canada! 😍
I have a cousin from France (Strasbourg) and he is always shocked when he hears how people here in Croatia are pronouncing French brands such as Citȑoěn, Pežo, Řeno, Bȕgati, Alpina, Ližijěȑ, etc.
I miss Cali and Christina
In the US I usually only hear the proper pronunciations for French brands… but then again I live in the Northeast… specifically NYC. 🤷🏻♂️
It's not very true. I'm French and in NYC I never heard a French prononciation of French brands but it's ok. We understand perfectly and it's really cute so... never mind. It’s very Parisian behavior to make fun of Americans accents. But since the rest of the French can't stand Parisians, we don't care about their opinion. ^^
US is a French speaking country😂🤔🤯
That and they're still calling Switzerland "Swiss".
Suisse@@module79l28
They must have included us because of all the F-bombs we drop.
In Canada they speak French too.
In Louisiana, yes.
All of the words emphasize either R or L. All non-english speakers have a harder time with R and L because we don't use a glottal stop or roll R, and L is basically the exact same tongue placement and mouth shape with only a very tiny change in tongue placement. That is why Asians often switch the R and L, because they learn the same sound for both and it's confusing.
All words with R or L sounds will always sound different in American accented english.
The french girl doesn't sound french ahahha but the swiss girl does !
The next time you do another German brands pronunciation video make sure to include Puma, Siemens and Hugo Boss, which you keep leaving out for some reason.
Too easy
To mess with them, they should throw in Knipex.
Cantik banget cewek Belgia 😍
Idont know how the american lady came up with that pronounciation of jacquemus.i have never heard any english person pronounce it like that n they might be confusion if to pronounce the s but they usually pronounce it the way it is written the way the french soeakers pronounce it with a english accent of course
I THINK BELGIUM AND SWITZERLAND SOUNDED SIMILAR...DIFFERENCE WAS JUST WITH SOPHIA SOUND
Hermes origin and inspiration is technically Greek, so maybe we should ask them how they would say it.
You have to make a plastic hammer block with all the Americans and Anglophones all guessing Latin and Greek and Hungarian words, but taking a hammer, no hammer, no video please on all channels, world friend, awesome world, gigle global earth.
Kisses to the sweet and cute kittens, affection 😘😘😘😘😘❤️❤️🤗🫂💋🌷😊👍🥂🥂
French is also spoken in Switzerland so that was a weird choice.
and also in belgium
"Hermes" (from the Greek god also known as Mercury) is pronounced "air-MEECE" in Greek.
Louis,Louis,Louis,Louis!😋😋😋
The Stooges?
@@N0Time it was a70s disco song
I’ve never understood why the French language has letters that don’t get pronounced, coming from an angle of Germanic languages where basically every letter gets pronounced in some form. Seems rather confusing.
French ortograph comes from latin, but since the pronunciation is germanic, letters remain for grammar.
Example : marchanD*
-> marchanDE (feminine)
Is there a difference between Wallonians and Flemish people when they pronounce the names of French brands? Also is there a difference between Swiss French, Swiss Germans and Swiss Italians in the way they pronounce the names of French brands.
I can’t say for the Flemish, but Swiss Germans and Swiss Italians might say those words a bit differently, but usually we’re very good at pronouncing French/German/Italian words. As a Swiss French, I even say VW “vévé” as I mix “faouvé” as German-speakers would say and “védublevé” as French would say.
well flemmish people use alot of french words in their dialect so no we do not pronounce french brands or names differently
Widowmaker?
I think Sophia was set up. lol
They should put the Brazilian girl there for them to see how different we pronounce those brands
🇨🇵VS🇺🇸🇧🇪🇨🇭⁉️😲😲😃😃😁😁
Hi i'm a fan❤❤❤🎉
Hi
HELLO
HIII
Next time try,
Native French
Canadian French speaker
Belgian French speaker and
African French speaker
I think the french girl as arabic origins because the way she said “ car” in “cartier” is too strong and too much back in the throat. ( the normal prononciation is actually the way the girl from Switzerland said it)
Cuando había que adivinar quién de ellas era la francesa, yo justamente la descarté por su pronunciación en la "a", especialmente en la "an/en". Cuando dijo que era ella la de Francia, simplemente pensé que era del sur.
She doesn't look or sound arabic. She's too hot and arabs are ugly? But she has a foreign accent. May be she grew up in korea.
She looks 100% French especially the face and eyes, her accent remind me of Bourgogne or Savoie
@@CT-7567R3XArab too ugly? Wtf, you obviously never saw Arab girl because the wearing niqab huh?

La suissesse a la meilleure prononciation, très pure prononciation
You need a Cajun and Quebecois speaker.
France, Belgium and Swiss are all next to each other so you've heard the correct pronunciation before. Next time use someone from South Africa and maybe Australia or New Zealand.
World friends 😃
프랑스 발음하고 비교할려면 미국, 독일, 스페인이나 북유럽, 호주 사람을 불러야지 벨기에, 스위스 사람을 왜 섭외해
제목에 프랑스어권 국가에서는 프랑스어 발음이 나와 있기 때문에 독일이나 스페인에서는 프랑스어를 사용하지 않는 것 같아요
I know this is meant to show more awareness about how brand names in French are correctly pronounced, but the French girl herself sounds as if she’s mocking or being sarcastic when she corrects the American girl. Also, may I add, they should have added, for instance, South Americans or Asians too to show more range.
The content you guys had where an American was the lead and different Asians translated American words to their language was genuinely more fun and everyone was more receptive towards their differences.
Au contraire, I thought the French girl was very polite and respectful of Sophia's accent, she wasn't condescending at all, she actually said Sophia's accent sounded more sophisticated.
American Who love to think negative.....
@@boboboy8189 I’m Filipino.
@@karllogan8809 I took it as that, because of the way she constantly laughs at how different the American accent is from the European girls. My cousin thinks the same too while we watched this by chance last night. I'm open to the idea we could've misinterpreted it though. I’m just reading her facial expressions, her gestures, and tone in her reactions. Idk if it’s just the French way or hers alone, but that' s how it sounds/looks to us.
@@allways_alexa I think she finds Sophia's accent while trying to pronounce French brands interesting and amusing in a nice way, not annoying or bothersome, but that's just my take.
She said it sounded sophisticated and the Swiss girl thought it was sexy.
American people ALLLLLLWAYS have problems with “R” sound in EEEEEEEVERY single language. 🤷🏻♂️
Interesting, but we have a hard R in our words and pronounce the R while many other languages don't or do an intrusive R where there is none.
@@80sGamerLadyTrue. Americans are more likely to pronounce Rs than other native English speakers so I don’t know how this person came to that conclusion solely about Americans . 😂
American can speaks R, its Just they didnt know how to spell like the rest of the world is
This is so dump video - you clearly can hear that for Belgian and Swiss girls french is first language. Obviously there is no big difference 😄
I think she's trying to be way too polite 😂The American pronunciation is not sophisticated at all, it's super duper ghetto 🤣
Ghetto? 🤔
These videos are boring
