@@suetaylor5186 That's very kind, but I'm also very good at getting distracted... so I tend to take 2 weeks to get a video out; if I could concentrate well I should be able to manage one a week. That's the target; not all of them mudlarking videos though.
Yay! My favorite mudlarkers collecting together :-), what a treat. And what a great hunt, can't wait to see what Nichola found. Your finds were awesome! Thanks for sharing.
What could be better; two of my most favorite you tubers at my favorite spot! Thank you, Tom for having Nicola over on your stomping grounds, look forward to seeing her again with you! And yes, she did indeed seem happy! 🤗
Yes, there was a bit of a flood a few days earlier, which carved out a lot of new things for us to find... we did have to brave less than pleasant weather to get in there early, before others. 🙂
The family name for the estate you talked about was Mergatroid? I’m sure I spelled it wrong. . Sounds like very unpleasant unhappy people. There is an old saying “ Heavens to Mergatroid!” I wonder if it’s any connection?
Spelled: Murgatroyd. Apparently, the saying was made famous by Snagglepuss cartoons, and might be based on the Gilbert and Sullivan Light Opera Rudigore, which has 8 members of the family in it (7 of them are ghosts)... the family name is local to this area, so tangentially it is related, but not directly.
Dear tom burleigh, i found out about your channel through your recent joint venture with pipe extractor extraordinaire nicola white. I find your mudlarking adventures thoroughly enjoyable : pace, tone, nature, history, human demises and animal bits etc. they are like little capsules of contentment with bursts of wonder. You have inspired me to pay a visit to the river which flows very close by : there has been two floods this winter so , to reprise your own words, let's go and see what the river has found. Until the water levels are safe, i will take some time to work out exploration strategies and suitable apparel, not least some no nonsense footwear. Thank you for all your endeavors, i wish you some lovely muddy promenades in the future.
Delightful finds and I love Nicola and her Mudlarking adventures. Oh, I would love to tag along and nab up a few trinkets and cool bottles,I reckon. Those pipe bowls....wow. Got to go on over and watch Nicola's vlog now from this awesome, cold & rainy day.
Nicola is so good at finding the pipe bowls; she seems to spot them from 10 ft away, in a cluttered field of detritus or through murky water. 🙂 I hope she can come up again sometime, and that I can head down to London too eventually.
This is the hunt I watched on Nicola's video that brought me to your videos. Your videos are really different than other mudlarking videos I have seen, but I like them. Thank you.
As an Australian deep in the grip of drought and bushfires, I am praying for rain and green hills like in this video. Enjoying the peace gentle rain brings.
I'm praying for rain for Australia too, it's deeply horrifying what's happening, and I hope it changes for the better soon. I'm glad my videos can provide a bit of escapism from that. 🙂
Lovely Lark! Tom, you and Nicola, in spite of the rain and mud, seemed to have a glorious outing. I love the reference to "hypothetical craft projects" and a few other Tom-isms that I will have to rewatch to retrieve...your wit, as always, adds to the joy of joining your tours of the River. Thank you.
Thanks Salish Sea Quest, I'm glad you enjoyed it. We did indeed have a pretty glorious outing, and hopefully Nicola with visit again before long; and I might head down to London this year too. 🙂
Found to your channel through Nicola's video. And subscribed right away. Like your peaceful voice and way you show the items and the river sounds. Best wishes from Germany!

Hi Tom! Loved seeing you and Nicola out finding treasures! Oh the tiny bottles! There were so many things to see, thank you for taking me along! Until next time, be well.

Hi , this is Katie from Greece , i like the fact that you do as much as you can to recycle AND you keep your eye out for things not belonging to the environment (like drugs) . I love your videos and some of the Americaqns i follow along with Northern mudlurkers , nice duo picking as theyh go , if i wern't disabled , i'd be trying my luck out on old Greek dumps my self , i like this sort of sport. Saving things if i can etc . Tha nks for your videos.
Hi Katie, thank you for your comment, and I'm sorry you're unable to get out for similar small adventures. I'm quite lucky to live where I live, most of the areas I go are fairly unrestricted; but the history we have here cannot compare to the many thousands of years of amazing history you have there in Greece. It would be wonderful to get out searching there... but it's very strict, and I doubt I could ever get permissions. Oh well. I'm glad you enjoy my videos and the small amount I can do for the environment.🙂
Another great video with inspiring content 👍. Gabapentin (I’m sure your aware) is a class 3 scheduled drug and it’s advised not carry without a valid prescription. It’s amazing gesture to have removed it considering how harmful it can be. Great work for us and the environment 🙂.
Yes, I thought I recognised the name as one that's sometimes abused, but I couldn't remember the full details. Anti-convulsive, which gives a pleasant euphoric high when combined with something else I can't quite remember. Probably not hugely toxic when spread out over a river system, but could have killed some wildlife near where it first breaks open. Glad you enjoyed the video and my small efforts to take the harmful things out of the environment. 🙂
Oh my gaawwwwwwwd!!!!!!! I CANNOT believe the wonderful little lead bits (among many other things) you two found on this day! (I really can't believe you didn't take that seltzer....) I think the small, clear round scent bottle was fixed to a necklace. I also love the contract between the two of you as you react to finding lovely things. Really quite striking. Honestly, I think if you found a diamond-studded gold necklace, you'd say- 'Ah, gold. I think I'll take it home........' then be off to find a bottle or rubber stopper. And honestly too, that's part of your charm. And your 'persona'. Outstanding outing! Thanks for bringing us all along with you.
The Seltzer bottle had a really large crack in it, and was so badly scratched up it couldn't have been cleaned up nicely... I don't think it would have survived being taken along with other bottles. I hope you enjoyed the video regardless 🙂
Wow! What fun. A great amount of wonderful finds. Good thing you are in great shape to do all this walking and treasure finding. I think there is so much there you could return many times and find a lot of treasures. Again thank you for bringing us along.
Yes, I have in the past returned after a few days and still found lots of things that I must have missed the previous time. Alas, I'm not currently in great shape; a persistant chest infection has been sapping my fitness for two weeks now... I'll need to work up to gently to being able to cope with this place again. Glad you enjoyed the video., it was a very fun day. 🙂

Additionally, what a delightful surprise to see Nicola with you. 😊😊This video made me laugh, made me smile and made me talk out loud to the screen (you really 🤣😂🤣). I would love to go there with my sister Margaret, when she visits from the States in June. I love your two beautiful little blue pots and the other one which is aqua blue. So precious! I know you have little free time, but I’m ever hopeful and patient to wait for you to sell your surplus finds. Thanks so much Tom for such excellent footage, commentary and sounds of nature. 💦💧💦💧💦💧💦💧💦💧💦💧💦💧💦💧💦💧💦💧
You've been such a great support to me through the history of this channel, I'd happily share the location with you if you and your sister would both like to go to it. The cliff might not be safe to get to, but the beach is if you don't mind brambles and nettles too much and a km walk from where cars can be parked. I'm glad you found this so enjoyable; and hopefully I can equal that level again for you someday... probably not easy, as the dump site was on top form, and Nicola is a rare visitor (she does want to return though). 🙂

Tom, I just subscribed because your calm demeanor and delightful voice are a rare treasure these days. Love the video!
Thank you and welcome, I hope you get a great deal of enjoyment from my future and past videos. 🙂
Lovely to enjoy the day with two of my favorite mudlarks. Cheers!!
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it. 🙂
What an amazing day you had with Nicola! I love her videos. Tom, you have a very calming voice. I bet you are not rattled easily. I really enjoyed your video. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks Alijax767, it was lovely meeting Nicola, and I learned quite a lot from her. I'm glad you enjoyed the resultant video 🙂
That mouse is adorable. Amazing it was in tact. And a second Elephant!
What a great outing Tom with some great finds thank you for taking us. Xxx 🇮🇲
Thanks Margaret, I'm glad you enjoyed it 🙂
So many wonderful things to look at. I loved this video, and it made me more jealous than usual. Thanks, Tom, and Nicola!
Aw, sorry to cause jealousy, but I'm glad you enjoyed the video 🙂
U found such a huge assortment of goodies and treasures. It's a place that's going 2 keep turning up such a variety of different and unusual things 4 years 2 come. Fav vid as always Tom. 👊💖
Thanks Lisa, yes, it really is an amazing site... and will be as long as the river doesn't change course again. 🙂
I had so much fun with you both. My eyes were going a mile a minute. Soooo many goodies you found. It's just endless. I love your little glass bottles and bottle stoppers. I'm so glad Nicola found a pipe she doesn't have, how odd looking. Very enjoyable, Until we meet again.
Thank Sandy, I'm glad you got so much enjoyment from it 🙂
Wow! Tom & Nic together. What a treat. Great finds.
Thanks Kathy, it was certainly a treat to meet and lark with Nicola 🙂
Just pure heaven... Glad you shared it with Nicola! Super cool finds😀
Thank you, I'm glad the site was being ultra generous for Nicola's visit 🙂
Brilliant to see you and Nic joining forces on yet again another good mudlarking adventure and so many interesting finds, I loved the toy animals 🐘🐃🐁
Thanks Mandy, I'm glad you enjoyed it. It was a wonderful day; meeting the person who inspired me to make videos and larking alongsid her. And the dump has never been better. 🙂
Tom Burleigh of course I love all your individual vids, but it's great seeing mudlarkers joining forces, well done to you all, I would love to do the Tyne with people 😀
Oh joy ❤️ here you are once again with your deliciously dulcet voice and charming scenery and splendid treasures and an exciting bonus - the effervescent Nicola, whose charm and voice as captivating as your own., what a fabulous pair, thank you 😊
What a splendiferous complementary comment, thank you 🙂
"Oyster mushrooms! They're good but these have been on a horrible diet of junk food!!"
❣️Oh Tom Burleigh❣️
2 of my favourite mudlarkers together ...what a lovely way to end the weekend..
Thank you, that's a lovely comment 🙂
You are like a calming mist, your tone completely mesmerising and your discoveries and commentary always interesting , when I see advice of a new video from you, I close off my world and promptly enter your world - and end up completely and utterly relaxed 😌thank you, thank you Tom also for the sound of the rain...

Thank you for your lovely, supportive comment. I'm hoping to do some crafting videos too, (using some of my finds) when this pandemic starts to settle down, (currently locked down away from home, where my craft supplies and finds are). It's an experience that will dramatically shape the near future, and perhaps some beautiful creativity and positivities will sprout from the terrible situation now gripping the world. I hope you're doing well, and that you, your family and friends all make it through this safe and healthy.
❤️Love & Light!☀️

@@tom_burleigh Thank you Tom..I am sorry to hear you are locked away from your family ..I have been painting and crafting as always..It's a little tough as I can't go very far to rock hounding ,or upcycleing..( My children say junk or garbage picking lol!)But I'm in the suburbs so plenty of rocks to paint and branches to be found in like close patch of woods. Loving the codd bottle and footwarmer. Can't wait to see Nicolas xxx lovely as ever Tom...we want more!
Thanks Sue, there's always more being worked upon... I'm just very slow. 🙂
@@tom_burleigh No your just fabulous x
@@suetaylor5186 That's very kind, but I'm also very good at getting distracted... so I tend to take 2 weeks to get a video out; if I could concentrate well I should be able to manage one a week. That's the target; not all of them mudlarking videos though.
Yay! My favorite mudlarkers collecting together :-), what a treat. And what a great hunt, can't wait to see what Nichola found. Your finds were awesome! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Donelle, I'm glad you enjoyed it so much. Hopefully won't be the last collaboration with Nicola... she seems keen to come again. 🙂
What could be better; two of my most favorite you tubers at my favorite spot! Thank you, Tom for having Nicola over on your stomping grounds, look forward to seeing her again with you! And yes, she did indeed seem happy! 🤗
Thanks Lisa, it was a grand day all in all... and she does want to come again sometime 🙂
Variable capacitor. I went to the radio electronics club in the school.
Thank you, it is only in later life that I have become interested in electronics and how things old and new work. 🙂
Wonderful to see Nicola tagging along with you! A great outing! The dump did not disappoint this day! Wonderful finds!
Thank you so much, I hope you have fun and find some good things in your local river, and that you stay safe 🙂
This dump will be full of lovely bottle and other suprises. Love the small bottels, especially the blue one's.
Thanks, yes... it is full of so many surprising little treasures. 🙂
Enjoyed thoroughly 👌
Loved the video Tom ❤👍
Awesome finds ❤ all of them; loved the unusual pipes too.
Thanks so much for sharing 😊👍
Thanks Deb, it was a good day full of fun finds 🙂
Excellent video!! You found some incredible treasures...I always love the toys and bits of dolls as well as the bits of statues!! 👏👏👏
Great video, really interesting , and nicola found some nice things as well, good viewing,
Thanks Christine, I'm glad you enjoyed both videos 🙂
Lovely Lark! Tom, you and Nicola, in spite of the rain and mud, seemed to have a glorious outing. I love the reference to "hypothetical craft projects" and a few other Tom-isms that I will have to rewatch to retrieve...your wit, as always, adds to the joy of joining your tours of the River. Thank you.
Thanks Salish Sea Quest, I'm glad you enjoyed it. We did indeed have a pretty glorious outing, and hopefully Nicola with visit again before long; and I might head down to London this year too. 🙂
@@tom_burleigh Would enjoy any larking you and Nicola would plan...up North or along the Thames. Something for all of us to anticipate!
Found to your channel through Nicola's video. And subscribed right away. Like your peaceful voice and way you show the items and the river sounds. Best wishes from Germany!
Thank you and welcome, I hope you can get a lot of enjoyment from my videos. Best wishes from UK. 🙂
I would be giddy with all those bottles - I would have my arms full of wonderful finds! 😊
What an exciting adventure, even on a rather glum day! You and Nicola make a good contrast, Tom, your calmness and her enthusiasm work well together! You both had a very productive day!😊
Yes, it was a wonderful day meeting a very special and inspirational mudlarker, I'm glad you think the contast worked well. I'm looking forward to seeing Nicola's video of the day now 🙂
What a terrific haul! Thanks for the awesome video ❤️
Thanks Michele, it was indeed a great day, perhaps my best at that site. I'm glad you enjoyed it.🙂
Lovely to see and hear your mudlarking adventures Tom. Thank You!
Thanks Teresa, I'm glad you enjoy them 🙂
Thank you Tom, I'm recovering from the flu and you (and Nicola) are just what the doctor ordered! Love your finds this time :)
Thanks, I'm glad my video can make you feel a bit better, even if it's temporary. 🙂 Recovering from a nasty chest infection myself, and sadly my videos don't work for me.
Hi Tom! Loved seeing you and Nicola out finding treasures! Oh the tiny bottles! There were so many things to see, thank you for taking me along! Until next time, be well.
Thanks Beth, I'm glad you liked it so much. 🙂 I hope you're well too, until next time and beyond.
Excellent finds! A wonderful walk.
So fascinating to go on your mudlarks. Wish I lived near old bottle dumps.
If you live near any town, there's a fair chance of there being a dump site nearby... though some contain dangerous things, so research is key to safety. 🙂
Wonderful video Tom, great finds and company. Thank you.
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it. It was indeed a good day for finds, and it was great meeting Nicola and mudlarking with her. 🙂
History relics treasures more history adventure learning with people of like mind dose make my Sundays so enjoyable. A bonus is watching listening to you & Nicola the history a joy but I find both the tones of your voices so relaxing you Tom straight to point type the excitement joy Nicola when discovers but both so elegant which makes both your videos a joy to watch brillant collaboration guys top job loved it.👍☘🇮🇪Godbless/ peace🙏✌

How i wish i was there!! With such delights....wonderful finds! And so happy u took Nicola with u...she was my first subscribed mud larker...anyway thank you for sharing 😃
Mine as well. So interesting the history left behind. I wish I had such a place to hunt for treasures.
Thanks Chris, it was wonderful meeting her. She was the first mudlarker I saw on youtube too 🙂
Hi Tom, Oh the many treasures, stir the imagination of the past owners. Can't wait to see some of your creations from your finds, I like the macabre too, fun to create! Your voice is one of the most soothing I've heard, you could easily read to lively children, & get them to sleep in no time! Just loved going with you & Nicola, looking forward to your next outing, thanks for all the fun!!!
Thanks Carol, I'm glad you enjoyed it so much. Alas, my voice doesn't always work on Children, certainly not with my niece and nephew... they get too into the stories, and never fall asleep when I'm reading to them. 🙂
@@tom_burleigh that's because your stories are as interesting as your mudlarking, or else I would fall asleep!!! LOL!
Great viewing keep up the great work so good to see you both on one video
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it 🙂
Hello from Kansas I'm glad to have found you . I love watching Nichola and Sci -Fi and so look forward to watching yours.
Thank you, and welcome. I hope you get a lot of enjoyment out of my past and future videos 🙂
Thanks for the cool video Tom.
Thanks Ray, I'm glad you enjoyed it. 🙂
So many wonderful things.....so exciting ...thanks again for another video where yet again I wanted to pick up soooooo many of the things you discarded as you went along ...😂
I truly enjoy watching your videos I love the sound of your voice your amazing when you find things your taste is definitely different than most people's and I like that keep on doing a good job
Thanks Teresa, I'm glad I can be appreciated for my differences; it makes sticking to them and not trying to copy anyone else worthwhile. 🙂
Your videos are my first foray into mudlarking lurking. Fascinating.
Thanks Tom wonderful wonderful trip regards Sue in nz
Thanks Sue, I'm glad you enjoyed it 🙂
Tom is a new discovery for me, sent over by Alex and Gayle. You had me hooked with the elephants. And yes, your voice reminds me of a wonderful mixture of Anthony Hopkins and our American Bob Ross who had a very soothing voice. Thanks for a fabulous walk with you!
I would be in heaven at that location, wonderful finds Tom and Nicola. Both have been my inspiration to lark around suffolk. Thanks both
Thanks Tina, I hope your Suffolk adventures yield up some good finds too. 🙂
@@tom_burleigh plenty of hours spent larking, and each find is treated as treasue 😍
I loved the little knobbly pot/vase!
Gosh, it's so antithetical to my tastes; I wasn't sure if it was even likable, let alone loveable. It's good to know there's a person for every pot/vase thing. 🙂
Tom Burleigh . What can I say, I love the unusual and weird 😁
Came over from Northern Mudlarks ... subscribed! Look forward to more of your videos!
Welcome to the channel, and I hope you can get a lot of enjoyment out of my videos 🙂
Thanks!
Thanks so much Jeannie, this is very kind of you. 🙂
Oh !! I absolutely loved this video !! Such Fun !!
Thank you, I'm so glad 🙂
Hold the phone, Tom !! What a spectacular assortment of awesome finds ! Good job.
Thanks, it was probably the best day of finds I've had so far at that site. 🙂
I've genuinely missed your soothing, dulcet tones and your curious finds of course and what a return ... to feature everyone's mudlarking hero Nicola! I bet you were well chuffed to have her company ; )
Thanks NutsAbourNature, it was certainly a great day meeting Nicola and larking with her. I'm sorry for the delay in the usual schedule, there was another episode done and ready, but I accidentally uploaded the wrong file before going off for Christmas and New Year, so it's postponed now till after the next video. 🙂
Lovely finds! Great collaboration!
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. 🙂
My two favourite mudlarks in one video!
I hope you enjoyed watching almost as much as I enjoyed meeting and mudlarking with Nicola 🙂
That site is simply amazing. You could go back after every storm, as more will be revealed. Great to see you with Tideline Art’s maven, as you are both so creative!
Thank you, and yes, I was incredibly fortunate to stumble on that place on my second filmed outing; it's been the gift that keeps on giving. It was great meeting Nicola, and she is indeed a wonderful maven 🙂
Looks like the workings to a music box for the metal thing. I really enjoy your video, soothing voice and enjoy your talks
Another superb adventure there Tom ,such a great selection of yesterdays throwaways ,now todays treasures ,,great to see Nicola with you ,excellent Regards from A & S Dorset.
Thanks A & S, I'm glad you enjoyed it, and I'm looking forward to watch your latest video, which I know has been out for 2 days but I haven't had a chance yet to watch. 🙂
@@tom_burleigh no worries Tom every one is busy sometimes .I'm going to hopefully do a Vally river walk soon !
I just happened upon this gem of a video. I’m so pleased to see two of my favorite vloggers in the same vid🥰.
(I really can't believe you didn't take that seltzer....)
I think the small, clear round scent bottle was fixed to a necklace.
'contrast', not 'contract'.
The Seltzer bottle had a really large crack in it, and was so badly scratched up it couldn't have been cleaned up nicely... I don't think it would have survived being taken along with other bottles. I hope you enjoyed the video regardless 🙂
Tom , this is the second time watching and I still excited every time you go to this dump site!❤️❤️❤️🇨🇦
Yay, I'm so glad that my videos stand up to repeated viewings 🙂
Wow!
@@tom_burleigh pray you are well soon.
I can't wait to go there. I'm just waiting for it to get a little warmer. I will keep you posted. I love this video, so many goodies. 😍
Lovely adventure with two of my favorites!💕
Thank you, I'm glad you liked it 🙂
Wow oh wow, Tom! 😱😱This has got to be my favourite video. 🤩🤩. It was absolutely thrilling to see all the things that you discovered.
Great finds Nic and Tom!
