Makati has more Japanese than in any part of Manila (except Cebu). The Ayala area is interconnected and a couple of minutes walk is Salcedo and Legaspi for weekend markets and Little Tokyo where most stores are run by Japanese. Enjoy your stay. You deserve a follow and hope you grow more followers here.
I became nostalgic at around 3 minutes in. Glorietta 3 was part of my walking route since I started working in 2014. I used to be on the night shift at an office in McKinley Hill before the pandemic. When work finished, the company shuttle would take us from office and drop us off at the Dolphin Park entrance of G4. Then it was one continuous walk along the second floor of G4, G3, G2, The Landmark, then the footbridge crossing over to Greenbelt. I would walk under the 10 a.m. sun 😅 towards Makati Cinema Square and hang out at the turntable and record shops, sometimes do several rounds at the Armscor or Jethro gun shops, or spend a couple of hours at Kodanda archery range. Then authentic puttanesca or assassina at the Italian resto and catering shop on the second floor if I hadn't already had brunch back at Glorietta Food Court. Then either catch a PNR train for Alabang, or walk the length of Buendia and catch a bus for Las Pinas at Taft Ave. Haist, so many memories 😅😅 Thank you for showing us around.
One Ayala is new and it's more of an office space and terminal with some stores to buy and eat before going home. Walking around it is jarring and quite nostalgic because the building that used to be there is one of the iconic hotels in metro manila in the 90s. That hotel used to have a bakery that sells a lot of great pastries especially ensaimada. Ah memories.
That's my neighborhood :) I've been a Makati resident for 25 years and yes, you are correct - Makati Central Business District for me where Glorietta and Greenbelt malls are located is a safe area to live or stay in if you are visiting Metro Manila. I've lived in Quezon City too but it doesn't compare to Makati when it comes to pedestrian safety. Very walkable. The food in Kenshin is good! 😊 I often order food delivery from there.
You missed the GUNPLA and TAMIYA place in Glorietta. Lot's of people are building and racing their Mini 4WDs again. Tables are always full during the weekends. Thank you Japan for the Plamo hobby!
That redlight district (Burgos) is infamous as opposed to being famous. The locals shun the area due to it being a place of you know what. There bars that are famous that a lot of locals visit. If you walk further on Burgos St you will reach the Rockwell Center which is upmarket and trendy.
Japanese people are very kind to Pilipinos , they're helping us to improved our economy and military modernization , like warships , Coast gurd , Submarines , Jet fighters , missiles , main battle tanks , small tanks etc . now our Armed Forces was strong with almost complete defense weapons .
Weather here in the Philippines can sometimes be too hot specially at noon and during summer season. I suggest using an umbrella with uv protection as it really helps to keep you cool when walking around. Also consider carry a handheld fan. Hope you enjoy your stay here in the Philippines.
9:37 You were very close already to Little Tokyo, buddy. But looks like you went farther to Dela Rosa St then turned left to VA Rufino. Next time, you could just walk through the park and emerge on the opposite side Gamboa St then just cross Amorsolo and turn left to Little Tokyo.
Thank you for showing a beautiful place in the Philippines, because here in Japan everything is shown on t.v. are all dirty places so the images of Filipinos living here in Japan are not good in the eyes of the Japanese people and I feel so hurt because some of the Japanese people are so belittling Filipinos here in Japan. 😔
Nice❤ presentation 🎉btw my first very beautiful grandson ( one year old) is half Japanese my daughter is a beautiful Filipina who was reared in NorCal. So I was bent on viewing your vlog ( Aregato 🎉);Anyways my extended Japanese American family are all attorneys, District Attorney y university professor etc❤🎉 y their English proficiency humbled mine because I am an immigrant but I speak a couple of languages y little Filipino dialects 😂…Arigatou gozaimasu❤5
3:50 Very perceptive of you to make that comment. It is really sad that they’re phasing out such an iconic vehicle and at the expense of jeepney drivers. The government is only subsidizing a measly 5.7% amount of the new “modern jeepneys” which cost 2.8M pesos (7.15M yen)
FYI- There's an old lady in Tawi-Tawi, South of Philippines. She's Japanese and stayed in Ph., for as long as she had known. People knows her there! She still speaks Japanese! People in Tawi-Tawi loves her! At her age of 80? she still cooks and looks like, she's in her 60's! Philippines, will give U the Positive Spirit, If U like people! People R very helpful! Go South If U can and explore Philippines! Make sure to be Safe and ask a local person in the South to guide U. Since, U R A Foreigner, especially going to Tawi-Tawi! That area is closer to Malaysia and Indonesia. Lots of pirates coming from Sulu Islands? going to Malaysia and Indonesia. No Wonder, these countries, doesn't like Filipinos (Budyaw)? Malaysia and Indonesia, will persecute Filipinos, that R going to their country Illegally! Anyway, be SAFE!
This isn't a good impression of how the Philippines is like.. Staying in Makati and BGC only provides foreigners with a gentrified bubble of cities that have no resemblance of how or what the Philippines is really like.. and all you need to do is literally step one foot out of these cities to see how it really is to be in the Philippines.
Japan numba 1! 🇯🇵
hahaha
All the places you’ve been are my usual go to places. Thank you for that wonderful feature!
Cool. Thank u for comment😊
new subs from the Philippines. I love your vlog!!! Bless you !

By the way there’s Little Tokyo also in Makati, I wonder how the Japanese food there are accurate to the authentic one
The foods I trided were pretty much same with Japanese one!!!!
@@DK_TRAVEL. I see, that's good to know
Try to visit the new Japanese mall in BGC
I should have visited there🥲
Arigato gozaimasu! Come back soon!
For sure!!!
You look cute 🥰 ok take care wherever you go. ❤️
Thanks!!
I would say BGC so far because I haven’t known about Makati so I need to make sure to stay there and look around more😅
Btw, thanks for the comment!!!
@@DK_TRAVEL. なるほど、マカティとBGCの町は急速発展しています。半年前あちこちのリフォームとかが多いですので、また来年フィリピンに戻ってくれれば、同じところにまた違う形式が見えるかもしれない。
With that outfit walking around Makati under the sun, I would probably sweat a lot or collapse. How come you didn't sweat at all? 😅 Anyway, be safe!
Thanks!!! I was so sweat actually hahaha
Burgos St. is the "" red light district"" of Makati. It comes to life at night time.

Thanks!!!!
The part where you have a lot of nightclubs is Población
Thank you for the info!
boracay or coron palawan ❤
There's a Japanese Mall in BGC area
Thank you for sharing!
New subscriber here❤
Thanks my friend!
🎉
SM Aura next
Got you!
Makati CBD is more beautiful and diverse than BGC. BGC is too artificial to lots of Filipinos
😊
Both are good in different ways
That's why it's called "Green" belt 😊
Visit me at Popeyes Ayala Gloriettta 1 😅😅
Thank you! Next time for sure!!!
You love Philippines i love japan
Yesssss👏

Kabukicho
hahaha😊
Try renting a condo at BGC for $300 a month...❤
For sure, next time😊
Homeless people there are harmless, you have to watch yourself for pickpockets especially in the big cities
Thank you for the information!
Real Ube is becoming rare like truffle. The ube that's commercially available are from another variety that is cheaper.
Akitaya should pay you! Now, everyone will go there!😂
I'm happy if people know about my hometown food😊
Great observation.....Thanks and have more fun in the Philippines.....
Thank you for the comment!
