And CS Lewis‘s wish when his time came to pass from this world, to do it unnoticed! He didn’t want any big fan fair anybody making over his accomplishments; he wanted to exit quietly, and God granted him that wish because John F. Kennedy’s death was in the Spotlight when CS Lewis entered eternity✝️

I greatly appreciate your finding these Bp Barron presentations. It's tough to get a grasp on all that Barron has done.

The reading of Lewis’ « The Problem of Pain » brought me to see the Bible as God’s narrative to man in His struggle to reveal Himself to him story by story and man’s expression to God in his struggle to reveal what it’s like to live in a broken world as his creature made in His image. For the first time, I saw God’s incarnation as a most logical chapter in a cosmic sized story.

I think his secretary, Walter Hooper, was the one who ensured that Lewis will never be forgotten, snd Michael Ward too! Lewis now has his name in Wetsminster Abbey!♥️♥️♥️♥️

J.R.R Tolkien was a Catholic story teller and I may be wrong, but I think it was he who demonstrated the power of the story to run parallel to the Christian story, to CS Lewis. Further, the Christian Story is not a fantasy (as some might conclude in the word ‘story’) but is rooted in THE ultimate reality (it has roots, it does not solely float about in the subjective imagination) - it is a method we can use which allows us to draw true parallels between God’s will and ours and understand what is essentially beyond us and yet still accessible. It opens the mind to the real reality.

Peter Kreeft once said God left Lewis an Anglican so he could put a Catholic behind enemy lines. His works are brilliant, and I think Screwtape is my favorite. The version online where John Cleese reads the Screwtape Letters is inspired.

I have been and am a constant and extensive reader of CS Lewis and he is a Christian model for me in faith. I am catholic. A question for you Bishop Barron and I hope I will get a reply: It is an eternal mystery to me why CS L didn't capitulate to Catholic belief; what could have stopped him of all people. He had the intellect, theological learning and above all, MIND, . If not him, then apart from an Aha moment for the stream of believers through God' grace, then what hope for so many others, The other remarkable Protestant I would put into this category and ask the same Q of, is the Chair Emeritus of Mathematics at Oxford, the wonderful John Lennox. Would greatly appreciate a response on my email Bet regards

I would recommend the following book: ‘C.S. Lewis & The Catholic Church’ by Joseph Pearce (Saint Benedict Press 2013) which deals with C. S. Lewis’ reluctance to become a Catholic even though his works have encouraged many people to convert to Catholicism and his beliefs and writings are very Catholic in nature.

    "Singing for Life
A civilization of five millennia-a path leading back to heaven
So rich and splendid, impressing even Gods
Ancient wisdom-a way shown by Gods
Modern notions and conduct are following demons
Atheism and evolutionary theory are spreading poison
Tradition abandoned, like a lake dried-up
Most people are Gods incarnate, coming to await the Creator
Returning to heaven is your true joy
For the sake of salvation we dance, moving our hands and feet
And play each musical note with compassion
’Tis the Creator who asks me to sing of salvation
    January 26, 2010, in London"
Master Li Hongzhi (Hong Yin VI, from Falun Dafa teachings)

Aldous Huxley also died on that date - another great writer who also had much to say on the numinous.

No,, Barron never said that. He talks about the hope we may have, but people keep conflating that with saying all will be saved.

I’m not trying to get everyone’s panties in a bunch; I’m just asking an honest question: I’ve heard that Bishop Barron has said that everyone goes to Heaven and no one goes to hell. Is that true?

No. That isn’t church dogma, and Bishop Barron is a very faithful Catholic. I.E. I’m positive he never would say that.

And it's not even a good book ! Based mostly on ancient fiction etc !!! Full of contradictions and everybody can interpret it as it suits them ! Oh , and don't forget ,if the explaining get ridicu ules then it's only meant as a "metaphor"! How convenient !!!!
