Fabian, I am with you, I loved this group. I loved their pop mixed with classical riffs. I loved them so much that I married a Swedish American lady with platinum blond hair. I loved her till she died, then I was lost for a long while.
Dancing Queen is the second happiest song in the world and it takes only 17 seconds to fall in love with this song 😁 But for me it's on the first place 😂🥰😍
No one hit wonders!, 10 years of magnificent hits, only the Beatles have sold more records, go down the ABBA rabbit hole, you’ll be there quite a while.

Latecomer here - besides all the stuff mentioned here, Björn & Benny wrote the musical "Chess" along with Tim Rice, and later wrote the musical "Kristina from Duvemåla", based on classic Swedish novels about Swedish immigrants leaving for the US in the 19th century during a famine. All of which have amazing songs. Chess has the more famous "One Night In Bangkok" (performed by Murray Head as "The American" - the plot of Chess is about the Cold War chess rivalry between a Russian and American chessplayer on and off the board), but also two absolute epics - "I know him so well" (sung by the spouses of the main characters) and "Anthem" (sung by the Russian character, best performance of that can be found on UA-cam performed by Tommy Körberg, a Swedish singer/actor).
Laughed at the one hit wonder comment 😆 the are legends, there are several documentaries made about and with ABBA. They are praised by the greatest artist in the world. The were a hit machine. Watch ABBA the movie.
They were definitely NOT one hit wonders. Haha 😂 They were one of the biggest bands of the 70's and this song was very very popular. ABBA were an iconic band. 🎵🎼🎶
Abba for me is the greatest group ever. I find it amusing that muricans don't know that . I can't really choose which song I love most I'm their catalogue. Heard that they're coming up with some singles Hope it's soon.
The musical Mamma Mia is one of the worlds most popular musicals and has been seen by more than 65 million people. It is based on 20+ Abba songs that are cleverly put together so that the existing lyrics fit the (rather silly) story. It had premiere 1999 17 years after Abba disbanded. Two movies have been made 2008 and another 2016 with maybe 10-15 other songs.
What the Beatles were to the 60's ABBA was to the 70's. Nothing one hit wonder about them. Google them. Except you will get lost in them. They were as big as the Beatles in Australia. Catch their live performances. This song is classic.
They have so many more fantastic songs, every album of theirs are worth exploring - pop perfection in many ways. And the two female singers sound amazing.
THIS IS MUSICAL ORGASM. MY FAVE BAND SINCE 1974. TRY OUT THIS SONG: THE NAME OF THE GAME, FROM THEIR 5'TH ALBUM RELEASE TITLED: THE ALBUM. ABBA, THE PERFECT BLEND OF POP, ROCK, FOLK, REGGAE, CLASSICAL, FUNK, COUNTRY AND DISCO MUSIC. SOUNDS AS FRESH AS EVER, AND WERE WRITING 2021. AND NOW THEIR BACK, WITH 5 NEW SONGS, TO ARRIVE LATER THIS YEAR, AS WELL AS AN ABBA AVATAR CONCERT MOVIE. SOOO LOOKING FORWARD TO HEAR THESE GIRLS HARMONIZE AGAIN. U HAVE A GREAT DAY🤩🤩🤩🤩
I read somewhere that when Frida heard the track for this song, she started crying because she thought it was so beautiful. And yes, Benny is awesome! Add to that the fact that Benny and Bjorn wrote the music and lyrics to just about EVERY song they ever did and had to look up words in the English-Svenska dictionary - well, that just blows me away! But Frida and Agnetha's singing and harmonies is what really made it rock. I love your reaction to this!!! I would love to know what you could teach us older folks about newer music - you rock!
This song was #1 on the billboards top 40 in 1978, this is the song that put abba on the the map. One guy I seen in a documentary said it was easier to name the countries it wasn’t #1 in then it was to name the one where it was.ABBA has sold over 400 million albums, and they are still making between 500k to 1 million dollars a year off their albums
its a huge hit, perfect pop song, abba wre so gd at producing hit after hit, vey wre huge in v 70s/80s, ws kinda like beatlemania. thats how grls looked in that era, its passed everything does. its about a teen nymph who goes out looking 4 casual sex, wraped up in a fmily type atmosphere n pop.
Fernando, Super Trouper, gimme gimme gimme, SOS, Knowing Me Knowing You just to name a few. Check out the movie Mamma Mia (another song) It's a musical with ABBA music.
It’s definitely amazing to discover Abba 👍! I am 55 and I am lucky enough to have met them because my mom and dad were fans. My mom had a press pass so I got to see Abba on September 30/1979 in Chicago!!! I personally know all four members so I promise you they will notice you discover dancing Queen ❤️🎶
This song take me back to my schooldays in the 70's - 80's. I have posters on my wall with them and listen to their music on tape and vinyl. They have maid a lot of hits - there is diffecult to choose from. I was grazy about Anna-Frida - who also maid a solo album - with a great song: There something going on. Great reaction, Fabian :) ALL of their songs were HITS :) In Europe they are iconic. I grew up with them but listened to other music back then like the Rolling Stones, The Doors, Jethro Tull, Fleetwood Mac, ELO, R&B, plus many others. But of course, my first love was Elvis :))) Weird combination, I know. But I also loved Mozart, Rossini, Mahalia Jackson, etc...LOL. But now that I`m older, I appreciate ABBA even more :) Back then, they were a little bit too "Lala" for me. But now, they bring back many pleasant memories :)
Abba once came to Britain and did a concert at the London Paladium which had 20,000 seats. 3.2 million people applied for tickets. They couild have filled Wembley like Live Aid every week for a year.
second-best-selling band in history, 380.000.000 albums sold (some years ago) 22 world hits in 8 years' time. They are the most versatile band ever (hits in every style or blend of styles). So not really a one-hit-wonder lol. They are a pop phenomenon. They had ± 115 songs, and they could have 60+ hits in my opinion if they released more album tracks as singels
Fabian, you made me dig through my CDs until I found "ABBA Gold" (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ABBA_Gold). Oh, in case you don't know what a CD is, ask your grandparents. 😀

From a time where women singers did have to display everything on stage to get people to listen to their show...First saw them at the Eurovision Song Contest...I was hooked from then on. Soprano (Agnetta)and Mezzo-Soprano (Frida) Some years ago here in the UK, they had a show where some of today's top singers/groups tried to sing ABBA songs..They failed. Fun fact, they filmed Does Your Mother Know with this song, same location.
Almost all ABBA videos were made by Lasse Hallstrom, a director who was later nominated twice for an Oscar for "My Life as a Dog" and "The Cider House Rules.
Sadly, they were never as big in Sweden as in Germany, Japan, Spain, and Australia. But this American loves them and listens and sings along still... rock on, dude!
I was a teenager when ABBA came out. They won a competition called 'The Eurovision Song Contest', and from there, continuous fabulous songs. In the Eurovision Song contest they were singing 'Mama Mia', and naturally won. That was in the 70's!!!!!!!

Few people dances or cries of joy when listening to Beatles or Queen - so I rank ABBA as the most complete music generator of all times because they are from another country and musical tradition than the mainstream music industry
yeah..1 hit wonders....1 after another after another after another...19 consecutive hits, from a group that had a higher income than Swedens GDP 7 years in a row.
We would all go to a neighborhood bar after work on Fridays, this song would come on and all the women and a few men would get up and dance. You just can not sit still to this song. Perfection Fun, joyous, timeless.

I just binged your 5 ABBA reactions. Loved your videos! Continue down the rabbit hole, it's a deep one. ABBA's music is magical, in my case it's literally been therapeutic. No matter what worries you have, ABBA takes them away.
40.000 views of "Dancing Queen"!!!
one of the most views of ABBA
and your first reaction to ABBA since a year ago ... Congratulations!
The blonde is perfection.
If you go on the ABBA journey then you are in for a great ride. So many hits and so much talent from the 4 of them.
This is one of the greatest songs of all time. It is timeless.
No one hit wonders!, 10 years of magnificent hits, only the Beatles have sold more records, go down the ABBA rabbit hole, you’ll be there quite a while.
thats the plan
Their songwriting just got better and better they were phenomenal, that ruled their time at the top, just as the Beatles did their time.
OMG a one hit wonder...😂yes, if the sky is green, and the grass is blue....
the uncertainty was pretty clear dont get your panties in a wad

This song is pure ecstasy and the most perfect pop song I've ever heard. The song was built on top of the R&B early disco sound of George McCrae's Rock Your Baby.
They have a plethora of hit songs. Super group and still now.
Thanks for the ABBA. The are in the top 5 selling groups in the world. So so many genres besides pop. You'll get tons of request so just follow them. These guys are music royalty and rightfully so.
Abba never imo did a bad song. Every song they created had something about it that made it memorable. It’s really incredible how many amazing songs they produced. My favorite is “The Winner Takes It All.” Very emotional song.
The Winner takes it all

Lay all your love on me

Eight Studio Albums a whole array of ABBA gems
Man I love ABBA . THE BEST MUSIC EVER
ABBA had many big hits. My favorite was "Does Your Mamma Know?"
cool cool
Laughed at the one hit wonder comment 😆 the are legends, there are several documentaries made about and with ABBA. They are praised by the greatest artist in the world. The were a hit machine. Watch ABBA the movie.
They were definitely NOT one hit wonders. Haha 😂
They were one of the biggest bands of the 70's and this song was very very popular. ABBA were an iconic band. 🎵🎼🎶
i get it i get it lol
@@FortWorthFabian 😂
Abba for me is the greatest group ever. I find it amusing that muricans don't know that . I can't really choose which song I love most I'm their catalogue. Heard that they're coming up with some singles
Hope it's soon.
They had loads of hits!! world famous group, timless songs! Check out their gold compilation allbums
good to know
Best Pop-Song of all times
The musical Mamma Mia is one of the worlds most popular musicals and has been seen by more than 65 million people. It is based on 20+ Abba songs that are cleverly put together so that the existing lyrics fit the (rather silly) story. It had premiere 1999 17 years after Abba disbanded. Two movies have been made 2008 and another 2016 with maybe 10-15 other songs.
oooooo
This song became the template for virtually all European dance music to follow. Even to this day, the ABBA influence is clear.
What the Beatles were to the 60's ABBA was to the 70's. Nothing one hit wonder about them. Google them. Except you will get lost in them. They were as big as the Beatles in Australia. Catch their live performances. This song is classic.
thanks
Love from Sweden to Australia for disproportionately liking our music. You guys have great taste.
Abba is one of the best selling Bands of all time
Winner Takes It All..................
It must be the official video 🤪
They have so many more fantastic songs, every album of theirs are worth exploring - pop perfection in many ways. And the two female singers sound amazing.
Great group. Love the song.
Aaaaaba. Two married couples.
ssweet
U HAVE A GREAT DAY🤩🤩🤩🤩
'Are they a one-hit wonder?' - Tea spat everywhere, thanks!
"This song is never gonna die. It's flawless victory." Love how you articulated that.
Your intuition is spot on....This is one of the greatest pop bands of all-time.....they were huge megastars with a ton of smash songs back in the day
One of the biggest selling bands in the world 🙌🏽
This song was #1 on the billboards top 40 in 1978, this is the song that put abba on the the map. One guy I seen in a documentary said it was easier to name the countries it wasn’t #1 in then it was to name the one where it was.ABBA has sold over 400 million albums, and they are still making between 500k to 1 million dollars a year off their albums
Dancing Queen was #1 in Billboard US at April 6 (1977)
Frieda was the only one that looked like she was having fun.
its a huge hit, perfect pop song, abba wre so gd at producing hit after hit, vey wre huge in v 70s/80s, ws kinda like beatlemania. thats how grls looked in that era, its passed everything does. its about a teen nymph who goes out looking 4 casual sex, wraped up in a fmily type atmosphere n pop.
Fernando, Super Trouper, gimme gimme gimme, SOS, Knowing Me Knowing You just to name a few. Check out the movie Mamma Mia (another song) It's a musical with ABBA music.
One hit wonders???!!!!!😂😂😂😂😂😂 That's priceless man. Welcome to the ABBA can club.
I hear ya, I hear ya. Take your moment and let it sink in!
I'm from denmark - neighbor country to Sweden. I also the swedish duo: Svenne and Lotta from the 70's. Lotta have a great voice.
I remember hearing this on the radio in the 70's. . Love Abba. React to winner takes it all by ABBA.
Like An Angel Passing Through My Room & Winner Takes It All Cassandra & My Love My Life & The Visitors & SOS & Slipping Through My Fingers & The Piper & Move On & Soldiers & Waterloo is ABBA's Eurovision Song Contest Winners 1974
Great reaction, Fabian :)
ALL of their songs were HITS :) In Europe they are iconic.
One hit wonder!! 😀😀😀. They have so many hits! Congratulations!
Another rabbit hole for you to go down... I hope you do! They're the BEST!
yessss
They were definitely a very popular band/group when I was living in Europe, hit after hit!!
This song will never die beutifull soulful 😊
Fabian, you made me dig through my CDs until I found "ABBA Gold" (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ABBA_Gold). Oh, in case you don't know what a CD is, ask your grandparents. 😀
"Is this the only hit they have?"
Oh man, haven't laughed that much for a long time ;-)
My ABBA favs are from their late albums "The day before you came", "The way old friends do", " Our last summer", "Happy new year", "Slipping through my fingers"; "Like an angel opassing through the room", "When all is said and done" .....
Nice reaction! The most iconic pop song ever. Suggestion, The Winner Takes It All. Greetings from Brazil
This song makes everyone smile! Ive watched several reviews and everyone smiles! It's great.
And Fabian, I Soo love Your amazing honest reactions as You discover these Legends. Abba is the best. Thanks for these videos,☝️☝️😊🙏
In the pop song genre, this song is the GOAT, IMO.
Benny andersson is a kind of nestor in Sweden music, He start in the sixties with the group Hep Stars, After ABBA he do a folkmusic record and start BAO Benny andersson Orkester He and Björn Ulveus even work together whit the Musical "Chess" and then another musical "kristina Från Duvemåla" He even works with some others, like Avicci.
ABBA is Gold and pop platinum 💥
When I hear that song. I think of heaven.
I was 10 or 11 ....we had school discos and ofc Dancing Queen was going hot...followed up by SOS and I kissed the teacher....I also had the LP ofc and still do.
They were HUGE in the 70s. Listen to Super Trouper, SOS, The Winner Takes it All, Mamma Mia, and so many more!
They were one of the biggest selling bands of all time. Have you ever heard of a Broadway musical called "Mamma Mia" It's a play showcasing all their music. Check out a song called Gimmie Gimmie Gimmie a man after midnight. 👍
Makes me want to put on my roller skates and go skating, like we did in the 70s to this song.
Sorry, but as a Swede I have step in with a correction here. The song they competed with and won ESC with was Waterloo and not Mama Mia.
Mamma Mía was released in 1975 and #1 in UK 1976
ABBA win the Eurovision Song Contest in England 1974 with "Waterloo", it was the first #1 in UK
@@795annie Sorry Annie, it was a LONG time ago!!
@@deborahdennehy9937 yes, indeed it was :)
I wasn’t actually born when they won (neither was my older sister to be honest) but some things you have to know about ABBA if you want to call yourself a Swede I think ;p
Amazing abba, ✌️✌️✌️💖
This was their only #1 hit in the U.S., worldwide the had 21 #1 hits. The first A in ABBA is a short a sound as in 'at'.
The greatest irony of all: Dancing Queen, the greatest disco anthem of all time actually plays homage to rock music in its lyrics.
They have maid so many songs, my favorites is: 1) Chiquitita, 2) Lay all your love on me, 3) Fernando, 4) Does Your mother know, 5) Thank U for the music (I call it a : New Year song. 6) Eagle.
We were spoiled with good music then.❤️❤️❤️
Would LOVE to hear you react to Abba “Gimme Gimme Gimme” followed by Madonna’s sample of that in “Hung Up”. Abba never let others sample their songs except for this. 🔥🔥❤️
Haha, now I understand why you are talking about one-hit-wonder in your other ABBA-videos. When I was a little girl (still a long way to go until 17😂) ABBA was in nearly every TV-show. I loved them!
For Björk, this song is the best pop song ever.
"Gimme, gimme, gimme" is their greates bop in my opinion, especially if you're into disco.
Few people dances or cries of joy when listening to Beatles or Queen -
so I rank ABBA as the most complete music generator of all times because
they are from another country and musical tradition than the mainstream
music industry
yeah..1 hit wonders....1 after another after another after another...19 consecutive hits, from a group that had a higher income than Swedens GDP 7 years in a row.
They have a new song out after 40 years and the song is just as good as their old stuff...
We would all go to a neighborhood bar after work on Fridays, this song would come on and all the women and a few men would get up and dance. You just can not sit still to this song. Perfection Fun, joyous, timeless.
This song was the song played in grade six dance contest between me and a really rough ass guy!! He won ..great memories one time where this big time wall flower shone!! NOoooo they aren't a one hit WONDER they are an institution!!!
The song never gets old ever you are right on point!!!
