You should make a series about like, learning the hussie style! It would be genuinely so helpful for so many MSPFA users, and Homestuck fans as a whole I think!
I totally agree. As one of the next generation homestuck fans, I like watching how the shapes are formed and slowly adjusted to *the* homestuck style. THE SHOES ESPECIALLY.
I know this video is focused on the art, but hats off for “billionaire slayboy, famous villantropist” that’s fcking hilarious and has endeared me to this character immensely despite his smarmy looks. Would definitely watch if you did more videos about your characters 💛
violently convulsing and shaking. what the fuck. why do the lines turn out like that this shit is some fucking mad wizard fuckery i cant take it anymore. the earth i stand on fucking crumbles while i wither and you thrive. god damn it all. great vid and you talk very clearly! i wish more vids were like this cause this has taught me alot. thank you
the way they look depends on the art program. in this case she's using photoshop which kind of has a wack pen. if anything, though, it really comes down to the pressure control and the physical way the artist draws so yeah
I hope (and I know you do) you know that this type of video is not only helpful, but inspiring. Your artwork and dedication is outstanding and being able to watch this for free and for you to show us is something i'm grateful for. In short words: You rock, dude. Keep the good work up.🤘🏻
immediately subbed. this video helps with the style and is wonderfully put together. it's great advice and i want to say it's almost inspiring? your artwork is absolutely amazing and captures the style in a way that feels so close to canon while still showing a unique flow to it! looking forward to seeing more!!
god i love your homestuck videos, they are so cool! your commentary is really chill and it is really fun to see your guys come together, not to mention inspiring. keep up the good work! :D
@@lilddm8558 it's the secret sauce! the only programmes ive seen even come close are aseprite and drawpile, but both of those are like the worst possible options for making mspa stuff. i hear gimp has a decently close brush, although i havent used it myself
How do you get it to be aliased, all my life every art program I’ve used has forced me to use antialiasing without a way to stop it. Aliased art is all I’ve ever wanted in my life.
photoshop's default pencil tool is aliased. most programmes - off the top of my head, this includes firealpaca, gimp, and clip studio - have a little checkbox you can tick for pretty much every single brush that allows you to toggle whether it's aliased or antialiased. what programmes have you been using that don't let you turn off anti-aliasing?
Man these are pretty epic videos. I've gotten into homestuck just a few months ago and I myself have been trying to make my mind own ocs. Nice to have some videos giving advice on how to get the homestuck style down lol. Also I am probably going to change my ocs signs because yeah....just using the extended zodiac can be boring
Do u have any specific brushes you use or custom settings or even brushes we could download or advice on scaling photo size accordingly so we can get the closest thing to the style
@@meatmanuel okay any suggestions on how big I should make the portraits. I know it’s very subjective on the page but I’m looking into fan wikis on creating AUS etc art assets we can take and flip to our own likings and they do have certain dynamics they say each page should be so I’m just curious because yah sometimes u crack into it but u have a wrong canvas size n it can make the brush look really swhank
@@twotamatos it's completely subjective depending on what you're trying to do. for just drawing, i'd stick to whatever size you're most comfortable with. if you plan to make sprites (i have a video on this in the works), i'd make a 650x450 canvas. that's the normal panel size on mspa.
i used firealpaca for a long time and it served me well enough. be warned though, photoshop has a lot of quirks in the brush rendering and other mechanics that can't be replicated so easily or at all in other programmes.

Oh my gosh I almost died when I saw you uploaded a new sprite making video!!! I love these so much please never stop making them
That brush you use is delicious looking my god.
photoshop pencil default, baybee. so hard to replicate in any other programme
@@meatmanuel No shot it's just built like that. That's how MSPA art always had that tasteful stank.

does it matter If I use either a square or round pixel brush to drawing in the MSPA style

thanks! i don't, but i've considered it in the past. there's a discord for my comic, regionlocked, but it's not used too much these days
