It says a lot about just how hard it actually can be to win away from home. Okie lite isn’t an easy place to play. We havent looked very good against Kansas for a while now. An off day can cost you big time. A few off weeks can kill a season. Now that all is right in the world again…let’s go get the Big XII title and win the bowl game! BOOMER F’n SOONER

Honestly, I'm most excited for Sawchuk moving forward. You can really tell he's starting to understand the patience necessary and he looks as though he's getting his burst back. He's only going to get better too.
He was physical too and didn’t just let the wind blow him over like some of OUs other backs..
Now if we could just get Barnes in the game with some regularity as well. We’d finally have the two best running backs on the team all frickin’ year getting the overwhelming majority of the carries.
He looked the same as last year. He should have been the RB 1 all along. Those are his natural instincts we are seeing out there. He has great vision, and hits the hole hard and drives through contact. He is thinking about getting to the end zone on every play. He's our most talented back.
Sawchuck will be more explosive once that hammy is 100%

Stuttsman, Lewis, Sawchuck, Gabriel, Stoops, not enough room to list them all. Breathing easier now. Great to see smiles again!

Y’all remember the situation OU is in. We’re in a very special kind of one where our team was completely gutted and left in shambles 2 years ago. These are supposed to be rebuild years, and we’re 8-2. That’s very good! All of our best players if you look are freshman, (the first group of people who have been recruited by BV, not Lincoln Riley). Imagine when these guys are juniors and sophomores! On top of the freshman that BV is capable of grabbing for us. We’re close to elite, but we will be in the SEC
I agree. Once Venables gets a couple of his own recruiting cycles in, this will be an elite football team. They can definitely win out the season and get a great bowl game. End the year on a high note!

The coaches did right sending Beville in there getting some garbage time. We dont need to use Arnold if we dont need to. One more game and he loses his redshirt. Dont need to waste a year of eligibility for 3 min of play
@@briankessler3501 @DB-ir5pu I think the day's of redshirting starting QB's is about over since portal and NIL, or NFL is bound to take them, if they worth keeping around. And if Arnold is half as good as we think he is, he will be off to the NFL his junior year anyway. I only could see saving a redshirt for a potential back up QB. Because by not playing him you risk other teams flirting with him through portal and NIL money like they did with Ewer's last year.

Oklahoma looked like Oklahoma tonight we threw the ball deep and holy shit it worked didn’t mess with the stupid bubble screen to much and tan the ball well. Had we ran the two games we lost like this one we would be undefeated but coulda shoulda woulda 💁
The run game was actually decent in those games we just didn't over the middle or deep enough.
Giving up 38 points to Kansas didn't help.

I was one of the skeptics when they hired Venables but I'm sold on him now. He is doing great. Realistically, we can't expect to win every single game this year, we are still rebuilding. But it is coming...

The official's are getting out of hand that shove in the back that caused the muffed punt was uncalled for. Officials need to be investigated.
I lost my mind over that play
As an official, and a sooner fan, the call on the field was the right call. The WV player did push an OU player into Gavin, but the muff happened prior to that contact. If the contact caused the muff it would have been kick catch interference but because he didn't catch the ball clean there was no foul. I wish it would have happened a second earlier, and we would have gotten a flag.

A conscious decision was clearly made to involve Stogner. The biggest difference was mental: lack of penalties and not losing focus or letting the foot of the pedal, as had plagued the team on both sides of the ball recently. All the usual suspects shined today. I could see a more serious Gabriel today. He was all business, all the way to the very end of the game, even when he came off the field in the 4th. The play calling seemed to abandon the reverse psychology tactics of the previous games. The offense took the position: “This is who we are. We don’t think you can stop us.”
Keep feeding the ball to Stoops! Show the NFL he needs to get drafted.

If the Sooners can only get past the heartbreaking moments, and be the dominant team that fans yearn for. It's hard work and we expect nothing less. Drake Stoops has been a heartbreaker to opposing teams. Too bad his Heisman moments don't count.

We really needed Andrel on both of those. It's hard to quantify what it does to a defense when you have a true deep ball threat.
still so many missed tackles on defense. west virginia isn't very good. could have used this effort last week.
Defense stepped up. Offence , showed some improvement could have done better.i know 59. Points is alot,but could have very well been 72.

But we didn't win the two we lost! Good thing is it was a practice to improve against a weak team. The stark reality , can we compete with the SEC royalty? No! The Offense head coach doesn't give Oklahoma the edge in effective play calling. Oklahoma belongs in the top 5 year after year, as once upon dream. Can we compete with ala, ga, lsu,Ohio at, mich Oregon Washington and quite a few more?

The only reason sports of any game type is how we identify with who is who on a personal level knowing each player and who makes a play is how we become a connected fan to a team
Do you realize if all teams follow such an idealistic promotion of team not individuals
And we as fans only see teams with no individual names
How absurd that we cannot see who is that for Hiesman Or who caught that pass or run
We lose our personal connection to that team and become lost fans and lose interest
An example is a husband is a OU fan and wife hates it until he shares a personal story of a few players like Drake is Bobs and the story behind how all the quarterbacks and receivers and centers are in NFL and the smallest running back ever is on Dallas Cowboys
Now that wife can follow an individual she identifies with and will begin to watch through her own identity with individual players

It's an alternate uniform that was worn for one game. Get over yourself. It's not like we're USC or ND who wear no player names on their uniform ever. If you're a dutiful and dedicated fan you'd know them just by the number on the jersey. For example everyone knows #28 on D is Stutsman, everyone knows #12 on Offense is Stoops. And they literally say their names when they make plays. Your argument just comes off as petty.

The Unity uniform is a tribute to Prentice Gautt, the first black player to play for the University of Oklahoma. They wear it once a season. You'll live.

OU fan here, citizens are not supposed to wear the US flag as costumes or accessories on clothing. The US flag is for the military, police, firemen, EMT, etc.
I don't think you understand that they are wearing what they wear to honor Veterans as a sign of respect. It's not a costume or " accessory", and as a Veteran I see nothing wrong with it. Especially in light of all the sports teams and players that have knelt instead of standing up and being proud of what has been sacrificed in order for them to have the freedom to throw their tantrum.
Am also a veteran of 25 years. The US flag code is very specific. “No part of the flag should ever be used as a costume or athletic uniform. However, a flag patch may be affixed to the uniform of military personnel, firemen, policemen, and members of patriotic organizations. The flag represents a living country and is itself considered a living thing.” There are other ways for the NCAA to honor our veterans.
Am also a veteran of 27 years. I am always proud to see our flag anywhere, any time. Need to see it more. No problems here with flag patch on his shirt.
