  • Imagine an azalea that can survive minimum winter temperatures down to -35°F (-37°C) and still be covered in blooms the following spring! Such a shrub would describe the Northern Lights Azalea!
    The Northern Lights Azalea leafs out in mid spring before sporting vibrant and lightly fragrant flowers in late May through early June. Since these azaleas are deciduous, they are more cold hardy and less susceptible to winter burn than evergreen azaleas.

      Thank you! It's pretty cool that these colorful hybrids with Plumeria-like flowers were developed for surviving winter in Minnesota! The azalea in the thumbnail is a Northern Hi-Lights Azalea.
