Just an incredible movie, great job Reitman and my biggest respect getting people who look as close as possible without being impersonators or going for big name actors
To those who don’t like this movie because it was “inaccurate,” that is to be expected from movies based on true stories. Some of Saturday Night wasn’t true to what happened that premiere night, some of it happened in later shows. Jason Reitman researched and spoke to the people involved that night, including Lorne Michaels. Reitman calls the movie “authentic”. In the sense, made or done in a way that faithfully resembles an original. The thing with these kinds of movies, is you have to realize, that they’re movies. It’s an art form. Not a documentary. You have to think about them as a painting, and not a photograph.
Yeah, that’s me. You don’t have to put “inaccurate” in quotations, that’s exactly what it is. Just because that’s to be “expected” doesn’t make it right. It’s BS and studios need to stop doing it. Don’t tell me I’m watching the story of what happened if it didn’t happen. If the story isn’t good enough on its own, either don’t tell it or call it fiction. It’s that simple. Otherwise, what’s the point? Why have people walk away thinking they know the story of your life (or in this case, show) when 90% of it isn’t true? That’s why the world is full of rumors and misinformation now. I’m not gonna make a movie about myself as an only child, struggling to make it in the mean streets of the city if I had 8 siblings and lived in a mansion in the Hamptons. It makes no sense and nobody asked for it. They even made a big deal, the whole movie, of Lorne’s then-wife deciding whether or not she wanted to use his last name or her maiden name for the credits that night. At the end, she chooses her maiden name. In actuality, she used Michaels. What is the point in that? Why have people walk away thinking and saying that’s what happened when it didn’t? It’s pointless. Expect more.
@@Hai_Lello So films should be 100 percent accurate or it shouldn’t be made? Thank god you’re not calling the shots in any filmmaking position. I swear, if this movie doesn’t win an Oscar, I’m definitely gonna lose my mind! 😊

People calling this inaccurate, I'm pretty sure I'll take the words of the creator of the show who is still alive to give insight for the film over random internet people lmao
Sure, because the people involved would never want to fudge up the facts in order to make themselves look better or anything like that... Not that historical accuracy is what makes a movie good or bad, but this is a dumb point to bring up in its favour.
