I really admire your courage to run the car without hitting the brakes yourself! at 4:00 it almost hit the blue VW. I myself have the EV6 but don't trust it at all with this so-called parking assistant. It's so clumsy . For a normal car reversing into the parking space it took 5 reverse/forward cycles and many, many minutes. again: all respect for your courage!
It seems to tackle tight parking situations very well, which is exactly when I would use it. I didn’t know it can do parallel “unparking.” Great testing and demonstration 👍
Yeah it does "unparking", and horizontal (parallel) and vertical (perpendicular) parking as well. It wasn't bad. Just a but slow but I guess it has to be careful.
Apparently the auto-park requires a challenge! LOL With the performance from the last video, I wouldn't have let that algorithm park my bike, much less my car! Today though,....my confidence is growing. Thanks for the videos!
Yeah I'm wondering what the reasoning is. My mailbox? Too big of a space? Maybe it uses the cars (when they're closer) as guides to where to leave the wheels... so there's no curbing wheels? I dunno. But it was much better in round 2
This thing is so cool. It will be interesting to see how many fan and user improvements Kia takes the time to improve upon from the year one edition to 2023s model or if they do what other manufacturers do, and wait until they do a full redesign to add new features. With the Ev market as new as it is I feel like they would almost be compelled to listen and improve things rather than waiting like some other manufacturers do. Really excited to see how the EV6 like grows and evolves.
What you're describing is exactly why I know I won't keep this particular ev6 for more than 3 years. I expect a lot of evolution year over year, so I think we will wanna upgrade soon. I think the 23 model will introduce some improvements, like a better layout for the hvac/media control, better audio programming or hardware, standardize some gt line features to the wind package, etc. Who knows? Future versions will likely be faster, more range, etc. I feel like kia is scrambling to figure out this car. But what a great start.
I've seen so many fails in other videos, due to improper setup and user error. it's nice to see someone who knows what they are doing and can demonstrate the function properly. Is it tiresome holding down the button in either case? I know that sounds really weak, but I'd like it better if it was hold for 5 sec to start the process and press twice to abort.
For the remote parking? Yeah. I think the problem is the button is very flush with the remote and doesn't have the best "clicking" feel. So it gets tedious. But again, major first world problem that I will likely barely ever use, although it use it to pull the car out of the garage a lot. I agree with you about the 5 sec though
@Emadifications you be surprised when she tries to park everyone will be assisting or guiding her with instructions. for the first 2 years of getting her pickup she can cause a traffic jam if she is trying to park beside a road. gave up trying to correct and teach her how to park. well there really are people who just can't grasp the concept of parking
5:56 I missed where you explain which button you need to press, please show the remote to the camera if in case you're planning to another video. Do you need to use forward and backward buttons or any specific button?
Sorry if you watch the first video doing these tests, I showed it. Thanks for the feedback. It's the camera button with the P in it, under the shifter knob. Also I didn't find any difference in pressing forward or reverse during the remote parking. Either did the same thing but you had to be somewhat close to the car. Maybe 6-8 feet.
@@Emadifications I mean on the remote, what button are you pressing? For me on Ioniq 5 remite, we have P forward, P reverse buttons. So, when using smart park using remote, which button should I use? I'll give it a test today.
This is awesome! Can't wait for cars to have automatic valet parking and pick up at the door for when it is raining or if you are at a concert/sporting event 😁
How would you rate the degree of difficulty of parking the car yourself using just the distance warning sensors in the tightest spot? Really difficult? Or, more like, "I gotta pay attention but I can do this as well or better than the Smart Parking"?
I can do it just as good and faster than the assist feature. The 360 cameras with the gt line and the wind tech package make it easy as hell . Without it? I mean still pretty easy. The assist feature is mostly a convenience I would never use.

Ha ha they were my cars so I figured the risk was low.... Ha ha but yeah I don't think I'd use it in real life.. really on any car.
Impressive to say the least - both entering the parking spot and exiting. Thanks,

Impressive. I didnt know it helps u get out of tight parkings as well.
Dude, loving these EV6 videos! I can't wait for mine to come in, please make more of these videos!
Anything specific you wanna see?
@@Emadifications yep, I would love to see more videos on the HDA2 and how effective it is.
@@EconBobWong sadly i only have hda1 and I did include it in my mods video
Thanks for share, very detailed on how to use this feature. Good photography and comments. Keep up the excellent work

@@Emadifications Were there any software updates between the first video and this one?
@@nds20041 nope. Literally a 24 hour difference.

Very impressive!
That’s impressive. What does it do if traffic shows up during these self parking events?
I assume stops if a car comes within a certain distance. It'll stop if it detects any object from my experience.

my wife definitely needs this car. her parking takes forever
Ha ha ha !! I can't imagine this is faster

2:43 is this safe exit feature available in ioniq 5 as well?
In certain trims it should he available. Likely not on the base model, but any of the ones that have the 360 camera
Impressive but I still like your Golf over the EV6!
Ha ha Your country will be disappointed in you.
Are your tires standard size? Wondering if that is reason for curbing in other video?
Yeah I matched oem 20" tires. I'm still not sure why, maybe mailbox?

What’s ur model ev6
Thanks
Ev6 wind awd with technology package
I noticed that you got a different reverse sound. Is this different per market or can you change/mod it in the car?
Hmm not sure. I think I heard that in the UK it sounds more like a bus reversing? So maybe it is different regionally.
Quick question how long did it take to do the parking in real time
All but the the pullout were filmed in regular speed.
@@Emadifications yup that's what I'm interested in :)
That’s a huge gap!
Yeah glorified feature. Haven't used it since.
@@Emadifications yea I have that sort of system on my car, but I truly don’t trust it.
If only Kia could actually deliver mine it would be epic
What's your wait period?
What I don’t get is why it beeps when the car is parking itself 😂😂
Some legality reason to have noise for safety or something.
The AI though.
I hope Kia ev 6 beat the sh!!!! Out tesla. And sells all EV6.
Lots of options coming to market soon!
