I’m always last to the party. What a wonderful band. Theatrical, Shakespearean, Dylan, biblical, instinctive, sea shanty, Irish, American, English, folk, intellectual...
I got to see Colin Meloy about his new book, Under Wildwood. Everyone there got a signed copy of it. Yuo were allowed to ask a question, and I asked why he made the characters the ages he did. He said it was a "good question." I freaked out that day.
Get the rocks in the box Get the water right down to your socks This bulkhead’s built of fallen brethren bones We all do what we can We endure our fellow man And we sing our songs To the headframe’s creaks and moans And it’s one two three On the wrong side of the lee What were you meant for? What were you meant for? And it’s seven eight nine You! Get your shovel back in line! And if you ever make it to ten You won’t make it again And if you ever make it to ten You won’t make it again And you won’t make a dime On this grey granite mountain mine Of dirt you’re made And to dirt you will return So while we’re livin’ here Let’s get this little one thing clear There’s plenty o’ men to die Don’t jump your turn! And it’s one two three On the wrong side of the lee What were you meant for? What were you meant for? And it’s seven eight nine You! Get your shovel back in line! And if you ever make it to ten You won’t make it again And if you ever make it to ten You won’t make it again And it’s one two three On the wrong side of the lee What were you meant for? Whatever you’re meant for. And it’s seven eight nine You! Get your shovel back in line! And if you ever make it to ten You won’t make it again And if you ever make it to ten You won’t make it again
It's so strange because I'm autistic and I can only seem to fully get down lyrics to TWO songs in my world: this one and BUlls on Parade by RATM, which us odd because they're both extremely hard to vocalize cuz of the pace and tongue twisters!!!
Acho que na verdade a maioria aqui são de brasileiros, mas eles tem vergonha de se manisfestarem talvez até por medo de que zombem eles, pelo fato de não estarem ouvindo funk, pagode, sertanejo...
Jesus this sounds sooo close to original, I love that
Crystal voices, good guitar handling - wow!
I love that they used Raggle Taggle Gypsy in there
I love when a good song sounds better live. It doesn't happen that often.
Just heard this track on the radio...dig it...
Butte Montana... the inspiration and tragedy wrapped into a ghost town
Best song really, like ever
It’s about my hometown ❤️
Wow! Sara Watkins playin the fiddle love it!
I don't know why, but "Gray, granite mountain mine" is one of my all time favorites.
So good, music like this makes me happy to exist!

Hello from HK!
I posted originally to say its a mandolin, but its actually an Irish Bozuki, which is a flat-blacked mandolin with a different sound.
Это просто прекрасно!!
se uma música assim virasse hit no brasil o país ia pra frente
Sem chance disso acontece por aqui

Como fazer isso?
Conhece the Dead South?
Love the fiddle
What care I for my goose feather bed
wi' blankets strewn so comely-o?
Tonight I lie in a wide open field
in the arms of a raggle taggle gypsy-o
I think that's Sarah Watkins from Nickel Creek. What a great combo!

Live is even better that the original version.

You won’t make it again
And you won’t make a dime
On this grey granite mountain mine

Let’s get this little one thing clear
