Very much appreciate this video. I replaced my stock emblems with matte black on my tangier orange Silverado using the tips/recommendations from this. Very helpful!
Ha ha I did this last week. Looked up videos on how to do it. No one had one. Considered video myself doing it but didn’t. I also put the black and red Z71 badge on
im guessing the tape you removed under the emblem was in order to give you space to remove the residue? Also its stacked perfectly on the other tape so you can place it in the exact area correcT?
You have good eye! And you are exactly correct on both accounts. I decided to film my strategic method wondering who would connect dots correctly as to why I did what I did. Replacement of emblems is in many ways, is more difficult than basic removal
I want to replace my Z71 emblem but I want to pay someone to do it right. Would I contact a detailer and ask if they can do it or even take it to the dealership?
@@sulmer0626 I never recommend a dealership. Yes on a detailer; based on a conversation with them to determine their skill/experience performing these.

Awesome video and tutorial good friend. Love the tape trick to keep it level and straight
You nailed it!
Im digging the red and black thinking of doing this but id have to take it in to the body shop to do it for me lol
What did u use to remove the outline marking on the badge. Was it just a wax and buffer
Where do you buy those badges
As always awesome 👏 videos and tips thanks always appreciate!!
Can you provide a link for those new emblems? Those look clean, most of the aftermarket ones I'm looking at look cheap. Thanks!
I just bought matte black ones on ebay that look EXACTLY like the z71 stock emblems. I wish i had a link to send you but unfortunately i cant find it.

@@autofetishdetail Awesome, Glad to know! Cheers Mate! Great work:D
What buffer wheels did you use and was that knife string or just string?
It’s fishing line and it’s called a 3M eraser wheel.
@@Youngling_Slayer66 awesome thx
What is the measurements placement on your emblem? Looking to add one but want it to be in exact location. Thanks in advance
that was the purpose of the tape.
Is there another way to remove the old adhesive if you don’t have that rotary buffer?
I used gas and a rag and it worked like nothing
Do you have the link to those bades
