If I understood correctly, the "official" original would be the German language "Profil" article, although Miscavige and the journalist talked in English of course, so that material might be even more interesting. Perhaps by now AI could provide you with a more accurate translation. E->G and G->E usually works pretty well. (Not yet true for many other combinations, thus I wanted to clarify.) Anyhow, reply here if you need a better translation from the German "Profil" article to English, or some other kind of comparison, or any D/G translation or review. Saying there are over 8 million people involved in Scientology worldwide is laughable. I was involved in Scientology in Toronto in the 80s. I would estimate that the maximum number of active Scientology members at that time was about 200. That's not many in a city of close to 3 million.
I'm surprised there were some goofs in the tranlation. I don't know about Austrians, but I know Germans learn 3 languages before they get into university. German first, English second, then French third I believe.
Germans have to study two foreign languages. It can be any two foreign languages, but the most common choices are some combination of English, French, and Italian.
