I’ve got big bowls. But who’s got the biggest bowls of all. Very cool effect. My first thought was that blue is heavier than purple. Thank you as always. Stay well
Same to you, thanks 🙏
That blooper real is awesome!! You definitely hit that one in the BOWLS!!
Lol, thanks!
When this is lit from inside it looks like a sunset on the water and the burl being the sand - very cool
Thanks again!
😂🤣😂love the bloopers at the end!
This an awesome creative big bowl miraculously inflated from a small bowl! 😉😃😁😆
Thanks 😜😜
I would like to see any mistakes made. Your "OOPS" can teach us a lot! Please keep adding bloopers! I will be looking forward to the end to see what it took to make your video!!!
I will do my best, thanks!
That turned into a really nice bowl. It looks like night sky over water. It really is one of those happy surprises.
I would agree! Thanks
I love everything you make.
Thank you very much!
Bloopers are fantastic, please share them whenever you have them!
I sure will, thanks!
Your videos are much more polished. The two resin colors really compliment each other, and it was great how a little bowl grew up to be a more useable big bowl.
Thank you very much!
That is a fabulously funky bowl. Absolutely gorgeous. Your bloopers really made me laugh, so funny.
Thanks 😊
Your shine was so deep and perfect you could read a newspaper in it. Beautiful job
Thanks 😊
YES TO THE BLOOPERS! Watching you crack yourself up was excellent!
Glad you like them! Haha
What a beautiful outcome to a strange occurrence with the epoxy. The burl is amazing on its own but adding the colored resin to it just makes it gorgeous. Thanks for adding the bloopers.
Thanks for watching!
For some reason the way the resin turned out reminded me of the northern lights, not color-wise, but more how the colors interacted and moved. It turned out beautifully. I liked the blooper reel too. It's relatable and shows wood turning isn't your only skill; you're also pretty great at producing highly informative content that's quite enjoyable to watch.
Awesome, thank you so much!
I think that your colors are just fine. That is a very nice bowl. Watching you work always gives me a boost in moral. I used to be a very fussy, and or meticulous custom wood worker. Until my arms and legs kept getting worse and worse. I went from being able to bench press450 lbs. to ;having trouble carrying a small bag of items home from the store. You always give a lift, and I find my self wishing that I could be your competitor rather than an avid watcher. Keep up your great work I love seeing your finished pieces that you make.
Thanks Robert, I suffer from arthritis and have a lot of bad days especially in the fall and spring. In my case my joints are just wore out from 24 years in the Army. Stairs are a real challenge most days, thanks 🙏
Jim - I have been using your hot glue in the electric frying pan method ever since I first watched one of your videos. Have to admit, part of my brain raised its eyebrows a bit, but after a few really bad catches with nary a shudder from the block I was convinced! If anyone doubts it, or has had problems it has to be not using the pan, or not having it hot enough. The biggest pain is when you drool some glue on your fingers! That’ll make ya dance!
Been there, done that many times, lol. Thanks
Jim, I knew that you would do something amazing with that “small bowl”, you did not disappoint. It’s beautiful. Thank you for doing what you do for us.
Thanks for watching!
Beautiful! Love the landscaping on the wood, like looking at an atlas. Plus the pinky/purple over blue looks like sun setting over the sea. Amazing 😊
Thank you very much!
Your outtakes are great to watch they make you normal well done jim
I’m normal, lol. My wife might have a different opinion tho, hahaha thanks
Hi Jim, I love the way the "resin gods" intervened with the resin separation .....thanks again for sharing with us
Thanks for watching!
Jim the piece looks stunning you’re work is amazing I look forward to seeing your videos every week thankyou
Awesome, thanks!
Love the bloopers... For an unplanned mix it come out marvelous. I really think the way you film your vids is great. Lots of info and helpful tips. 😎👍👍👍👍
Thanks 🙏
That Cherry Burl Bowl turned out fantastic.
Thanks 🙏
Very interesting how the colors moved and stayed separate like they did. It is very dramatic and a wonderful effect.
Agreed! Thanks
Separation of colour was meant to be! Pure Magic!
Agreed, thanks 😊
This is a stunning bowl, the pearl effect is amazing in the lilac. It is so interesting how the pigments separated, like you've said resin always does it's own thing. You think you have it figured out, and it surprises you. Loved the little bloopers at the end.😂😂❤
Thank you so much!
Lol, how about "little bowls can have big dreams" good stuff Jim. Thx for the video
Thanks for watching!
Bloopers are appreciated!
Glad you like them!
I really like this bowl! The resin colour separation was just serendipity: So lovely! I smile with this one. Thanks!
Thanks 😊
Oh you.. goof ball.
Maybe I'm just easy to please, because whatever works best for you is what I'd want.
It looks like I'm inland, looking out to sea with a purple sky; and the land is shaped like a squid!
Starting to see the differences in the burls finally I think, which is neat; and the terms you use.
One of the reasons I like your commentary and consistency.
Thanks Jim, beautiful work
Thanks a lot! I really appreciate it!
there is really something amazing how the blue makes that cherry burl just pop out off the screen!
Agreed! Thanks
Love the effect the resin caused. The Purple on top and blue on the bottom. The burl looks like Antarctica in the bottom of the bowl. Great piece Jim. And I like the new format.
Great! Thanks!
Hi Jim, you redeemed yourself this week although there's no doubt you'll salvage the lemon glitter platter. This week's bowl is really beautiful, and a very big bowl indeed!
Thanks 👍
Amazing is the less we can say about this bowl
and the resin simply MAGIC.
Bravo Jim
Thanks 😊
That bowl is absolutely beautiful. The colors are perfect together and I love how the colors separated on their own. Thank you for sharing.
The cut outs at the end are funny 🤣.
Thanks 😊
Ohhhhh wow wow wow wow!!!! Jim the bowl is awesome and stunningly beautiful magnificent and spectacular.
Thank you!
Bloopers?!? Ah man, more of these please!
Lol, thanks!
Beautiful colour combination and yet another superb result Jim. The 'bloopers' were the icing on the cake LOL
Lol, thanks 🙏
I bet you had fun with the “bloopers”. Those were great, glad to see a little humor. Oh and by the way. Great looking small big bowl! Nothing wrong with cherry burl!
Lol, thanks Lance!
Looks like a sunset over water. Beautiful
Thanks 😊
The burls are beautiful, so much character. Great bowl 👍👍👍
Thanks 😊
Beautiful bowl. Those colors go well together. What a great way to make something larger while adding beauty at the same time. Love that cherry burl.
Thanks 🙏
Gorgeous bowl. It is amazing how the two colours separated as they set. It is a happy little accident. Well done.
Totally! Thanks
Well the bowl does look nice. The sinking of the blue actually looks good. As for the bloopers at the end, I almost choked on my coffee. Jim's "X: rated videos. Stayed tuned for next Friday. It is good to have some humor Jim. The turnings are really cool, especially when your shop is cold. "Stay safe and take care".
Cooler than I like, haha. Thanks
GREAT BOWL JIM I LOVE YOUR STYLE.AWESOME JOB BUDDY .FROM DOUG
Thanks Doug!
Thank you for this video. I found it very informative. The most helpful items were: showing the speed you were turning and stopping the fast forward in playback to demonstrate how slow you where moving the chisel. The bowl was beautiful.
Great! Thanks
When I saw the thumbnail for this video I would have sworn you had to have done 2 poors, well you live and learn. Extraordinary!
Pretty cool eh? I was shocked. Thanks
I now have a new favorite made by my prefered "big bowl" guy. Absolutely drop dead gorgeous Jim. I'd love to see you do a 'blooper' video of your Jim vs things stuck in buckets. All the best to you and yours.
Thanks for watching
Beautiful burl island in a stormy sea, I love it
Thank you very much!
Best bowl turning I have ever seen
Wow, thanks 🙏
I was thinking how did he say that with a straight face at the beginning! Thanks for including the bloopers. Mystery solved.
It wasn’t easy, hahah. Thanks
You created a beautiful bowl--I believe it is my favorite of all your videos I have watched. Thank you for sharing your talents!
Thanks for watching!
Beautiful bowl Jim. Very cool looking the way the colors separated and left a small mix in the middle.
It’s the strangest thing, lol. Thanks
Wow! I love the way the colors ended up separating. The Cherry is gorgeous as well. Love your work as always Jim.
Thanks 🙏
I subscribe to many many wood turning channels,I am not belittling anyone when I say this, but I prefer your channel above all the others, your explanations are very helpful and informative and you are a true artist and yes there are many fantastic artists in this field I just like the way you come across Kinda like a talented neighbor guy that I visit on occasion to see what your up too, another beautiful project by the way
Thank you very much!
yeah that rainbow blue is absolutely wonderful!
Thanks 🙏
Hi Jim, I have to give you an A+ on your resin. Like a duck to water as they say. Another beautiful bowl. Thank You
Thanks for watching!
Very beautiful! Love the way you do the videos now. Bloopers are always a great bonus.
Thanks 😊
I like big bowls and I cannot lie 🤣🤣. The lilac is sooo pretty 😍
Lol, thanks 😊
Good idea to sandwich it between two bowls for the resin pour. Sure turned out nice.
Thanks 🙏
That’s my favorite bowl out of all the bowls you’ve made so far. Very beautiful!
Thanks 🙏
Jim, thanks for sharing your process in enlarging a wood bowl with epoxy. Your bowl turned out beautifully!! Thanks!
Thanks for watching!
my wife was laughing as I watched the out takes. She looked at me and said 'what is he doing'. lol😆
I was just wondering what I could do with the small bowl, hahaha.
Another beauty Jim. Gotta love a happy accident. And yeah.....you've got big bowls.
Lol, thanks 🙏
Another stunning piece Jim, had a good laugh at the bloopers. See you next week and keep safe.
Thanks 🙏
Interesting separation of the colors. Looks cool. The bloopers are great too.
Thanks, lol.
Those two colors go so well together. I like how they separated! Great job Jim
Thanks 😊
I agree. Probably one of the best you’ve done so far, although they are all amazing in my book! Really enjoyed the ‘bloopers’ at the end. Made me laugh out loud! Really liking this new editing method and voice over too. Big thumbs up from me this week!
Awesome! Thanks 😊
Looks good Jim, always a pleasure to watch you work your magic. 👍
Thanks 🙏🏻
Absolutely amazing! It turned out so cool even though the Designer Epoxy didn’t combine like you wished. It is a true masterpiece. Love it.
The reason I watch these videos so intently is that I like to watch each process. The scraping is cool looking how the resin flows right off the Hercules. My favorite is when you bore out the inside. Amazing talent!!
Thank you very much!
That is a beautiful bowl, Jim. Awesome how the resin did what it wanted to. I like the format you are trying out. Take care.
Glad you like it, thanks
As soon as you mentioned bloopers my wife's eyes lit up!!
Lol, thanks
I love the separation of the colors! The purple 💜💜💜
Me too! Thanks 😊
Bob Ross said it best. Awesome job.
Thanks 😊
I love the color combination. 😊💜💙💙💙💜💜
Thanks so much!
Almost looks like a map inside the bowl! Very cool!!
Agreed, thanks 😊
All your talk about information you give is gold.Ernie smith from brisbane Australia
Thanks Ernie!
That piece came out beautiful I can’t wait to see what you did with one that didn’t set up
Me too, lol. Thanks
That was indeed a happy conclusion to the resin casting and boy does that look good ; I really like the end result . - Michael from Australia.
Thanks 🙏
That bowl turned out amazing! It reminds me of a sunset in an exotic country. A friend of mine lives in Africa and she used to send me fantastic pics of African sunsets and your bowl reminded me of her pics. Now I wonder if you could repeat the same mistake twice. From my screen the colours are gorgeous!!
I feel like it’s going to be pretty much impossible to do it again, lol. Thanks
Absolutely amazing!! Would love to see the purple with a pearl white in the future 💜
I don’t use white enough, lol. Thanks 😊
Jim can you do more combo resin pieces? In particular I loved the peacock bowl(s). But I haven’t seen you do one of these in a while. Thanks
Certainly, thanks!
Awesome Jim…. The side view spinning at the end kinda looked like a sunrise. Amazing bowl Jim and loved the bloopers you gotta do that more! Stay safe my friend!
I will try to do the bloopers, but rarely make mistakes on camera, hahah. Thanks
My husband and I love how this bowl turned out. It's beautiful!
Have you ever considered using a scale when measuring the resin? I picked up a cheap one for baking and making extracts and it's been a game changer for my kitchen experiments.
Take care and stay warm!
Talking to Designer Epoxy, they say it’s better to measure by volume and not weight 🤷♂️, thanks 😊
Great bowl, I just love the way the wood and resin 'pop' when you add the waterlox
Me too! Thanks 🙏
This is absolutely beautiful. And your bloopers at the end were hilarious. I like alot of your work. But this piece is gorgeous 😍
Thanks 😊
Another beautiful bowl! Tough to not grin about big bowls 😉!!
You and me both! Thanks
Jim, awesome turning the colors really pop and i really enjoyed your bloopers keep them coming
Will do, thanks 🙏
Man that's beautiful I love it. Cool how the colours layered instead of mixing through as you say a happy accident. Nice job.
Very unlikely I can do it again, lol. Thanks
ouh yeah man she a buet ! the color are amazing the way the lite hits it!
Thanks!
Real time was an eye opener for me. Thought you moved at the faster pace. Thanks for the demo.
It really depends on the piece, but most cases this is the normal speed, thanks
Love the bowl! You never know what you get when you pour.
It appears so, lol. Thanks
Jim,
Gorgeous it looks like a stormy skies. I am looking forward to the walnut resin rescue. Funny oops got to be careful how you say it. Ha ha
Lol, thanks
Absolutely gorgeous! Now everyone out there can have big bowls! Btw, Jim. Nothing you’ve ever done has been plain Jane.
I like big bowls and I can not lie, lol. Thanks
Jim you had me laughing so hard at the last of this video I had to come back and let you know it was......funny 😄 thanks so much for putting your videos on U-Tube thanks again
Lol, thanks for watching!
Can’t believe the way the blue and purple stratified like that. You poured from both sides at the same time. You just never know. Makes me wonder if you poured one then the other what would happen.
This one is beautiful. Thank you n
Thanks for watching!
😍😍😍 wish I had the money, because that bowl i absolutely freaking gorgeous, just like all your other turnings.👍👍😍😍
Suffering with tinnitus I so much appreciate, that you do voice overs without the pitchy squeaky noises, when the video is speeded up. 👍👍👍
It’s the main reason I’m doing it that way now. Thanks 😊
Another beautiful work of art. I never miss your new videos.
Great! Thanks for watching!
with the lilac resin backlit at 23:30, it looks like a stormy sunset on the ocean.
Totally, thanks
Beautiful piece! Looking forward to a rescue video ...
Let’s hope it can be done! Thanks
