- The Eiffel Tower, aka the Iron Lady, is a wrought-iron lattice tower on the Champ de Mars in Paris, France. It is named after the engineer Gustave Eiffel, whose company designed and built the iconic monument.

This is simply amazing! I often wonder what would survive and be left standing if a world wide catastrophic event occurred where ocean tidal waves cover all the land and everything is covered with mud and water (at least for a bit) and society had to rebuild from scratch. By the time we would be advanced enough to build something like this again it would be a mystery on how the original was built in the first place and people would have to guess what it was used for and why. Interesting
I wonder how they got the center support post in, whether they used the same cranes or how that was done
