My favourite acting house! While they still have much to learn in technique, I think the sons are already on their way to outdoing their father: Kankuro is becoming a better Akuyaku and nimaime actor than Kanzaburo XVIII (who always had a more comic bend), and Shichinosuke has far outdone his father's younger onnagata roles in terms of beauty and glamour (I cannot imagine Kanzaburo XVIII playing Yatsuhashi).
I wonder though if the Nakamuraya has ever worked with the Saruwaka-ryu school of dance, given they share the same roots
And is it also just the Shichinosuke fan in me, or is he emerging as the main artistic heir to Tamasaburo? I don't know other onnagata of his generation who can reach the same description as Mishima once gave for Tamasaburo, 'the fascination of this beautiful young man is of another era than our own. But it may carry with it a magical power, which by the right and privilege of his young age, will succeed in completely overturning the prevailing tastes of our time.'

Great video! Would you know their performance schedule after March? Do they ever perform in Osaka/Kyoto?

They'll be touring throughout March/April, and then will have a show in Tokyo in May. You can find the details of the tour here: e-nakamuraya.jp/works/performance/
They occasionally appear in Osaka (they've set up the Heisei Nakamura-za within the ground of the Osaka Castle in the past!), but it is not a regular stop for them, as far as I know.

It is always important for them to keep their father's legacy alive, especially given the fact that Kanzaburo XVIII passed away very abruptly and suddenly. Here I saw some news and I want you to clarify something for me: Is it true that Nakamura Tokizo V and Nakamura Baishi IV will have a name-taking ceremony (or shumei) this year? Because I saw that (if my Japanese isn't wrong) Tokizo V will become Nakamura Manju I, Baishi IV will become Tokizo VI and Baishi IV's son will become Baishi V, does that check?

Yes, 100% true! The ceremony will be held at the Kabuki-za this June. Great news for the kabuki world! I'll be definitely making a video about it sooner or later.
