I love your style. It's amazing how it can be loose and whimsical, as well as being realistic at the same time. I just love it. Thank you for this lesson.
I'm a bit late to this. I love urban sketching and watercolor. Fascinated and eager to learn from accomplished artists. Enjoyed this. Thanks, thumbs up, and subscribed.
great program! I have fallen into the idea drawing must almost be as the photograph or what you see, but really it is using your imagination to make the sketch look sort of what is in front of you. A sketch is a sketch and takes loads of practice. Thanks
Es un gran trabajo ! consigue un dibujo muy dinámico. Solo una questión, al utilizar las manchas aleatorias de pintura, ¿ no cree que alguien pueda pensar en un error al pintar el dibujo ? Grácias. 👍
So glad to hear that you enjoyed it! The spots can certainly be seen as mistakes but they add to the character and overall sketch. It's important to remember that perfection isn't the aim and really it's about capturing an overall feeling of the location and having fun with it! Hope that helps but feel free to let us know if you have any questions :)
Hi there! We have lots of courses taught by Ian available at urbansketchcourse.com including our Urban Junkyard course which includes more vehicles. We also have a free urban sketching course on our website that you can try! :)
Not to knit-pick BUT, with all your experience, I would think you would understand the principles of camera Auto-focus. Failure to disable it in these demos makes the camera jump around with all your hand movements, and quite frankly, you're giving me a headache.
Hi Eric, thanks for your feedback. This is only one of our free demonstrations recorded from on a live zoom workshop so we do appreciate that the quality is not as great as it could be. However we have lots of other courses filmed by a professional camera team on our website including a free course if you wanted to try it: www.urbansketchcourse.com/free-urban-sketching-course/ Hope that helps but feel free to drop us an email at support@urbansketchcourse.com if you have any questions about our courses. Thanks :)

Genial!!! USK!!!
Is it possible to see the reference photo somewhere? Thanks 🙏🏼
Aren't the manganese colors dangerous?
It's a fantastic drawing but is it a sketch? Don't you need to draw from the original (or your imagination) to be a sketch, rather than from a photo?
A sketch is just a drawing that is rough or unfinished. Has nothing to do whether it is from imagination/life or not
"I loveee drawing cars" I just watched a video where he said he HATED drawing cars ....
