Shane, Keep Talking
The FBI has told me to say KEEP TALKING
Shayne, Please Keep Cooking
Everybody shut up, Shayne’s cookin’!
“Entry team to TOC, we found another masterpiece by Shayne.”
“Rodger that, put em on safe and let em watch.”
Surprised the pairs of eyes in the back of cave were not talked about.
Yea lol I was waiting for him to talk about that
You missed the part where at the end of the level there are glowing eyes shining in the dark. That’s the entity that emits the sound of children. Really wished that you caught that
Alyx2811 said it's based on an actual urban legend. They say the devil tries to lure border jumpers by pretending to be children.
We don't know that for sure but it's there.
I thought I was the only one that noticed the eyes
Beyond the boat dock? I was wearing NVGs the whole time, and I looked deep into that void without noticing anything. I’ll have to go back for a closer look
Yeah, think its surposed to be a skinwalker joke or something
9:06 for that crying child part, and seeing some religious things from before about protecting the travelers, i think that might be a reference to an old Mexican folk tale of a women killing her kids near a river because her husband left her for another woman.
In her sorrow she drowned her two kids and now her ghost haunts the rivers looking for her kids or something. I don’t know the name anymore but there was a movie made about it.
Edit: Found the name for her: La Llorrona
Dope Trip, if its the dev's called shot
La Llorona* (no double r)
So at 7:22 the religious icons and statues seemed based off of The Virgin Mary. Or more specifically, Our Lady of Guadalupe, a very famous apparition of Mary that appeared to a South American Native converting to Catholicism. Its a very popular icon of Christianity in Mexico, so this seems to be a shrine for prayers to Mary for safe travels.
You're right. Latin American Catholics usually ask the Blessed Virgin for intercession if they travel (or just leave their house). This isn't just in Latin America though, Catholics everywhere do this, yet they don't specifically ask "Our Lady Of Guadalupe" for prayers, just "Our Lady". The tattoo and rosary beads you get from this mission is quite cool too.
@breeser1861 I more meant the main painting on the wall behind the statue in the center seems to be the iconic painting for Our Lady of Guadalupe, but it's often used synonymously with Mary, so it's not much of a big deal, just a neat nod.
it's a crime that you didn't mention the eyes in the cave. that adds to the paranormal theme of RoN, and i'm pretty sure that was the "crying children" mentioned in the text convo
No, the crying children is something else. The entire tunnel system is strange, since it's apparently ancient, which is odd for the region. Plus, iirc, there's Mariposa Lilies growing on the map, so it could have something to do with *them.*
wait what
@@rybybgvgvubghnhn If you bring NVGs and head to the end of the tunnels at the docks, look out into the darkness and you can see two eyes blinking.
another hot load of lore poured directly down my throat, thank you shayne
dude.
Real
What did bro mean by this?
Dawg
Amos Vol spotted
So... That hydroelectric dam that shut down, and is probably in disrepair...
an interesting detail in a large cave with a boat, if you stand on the bridge and look about 45 degrees to the right of the center, in the distance you can see a pair of blinking white eyes
A ready or not tv show would be amazing
They already made fallout into a show. They can definitely make a Ready or Not tv show. It would be brutal and interesting to many viewers. Could be a major hit!
You know that modern "writers" would fuck it up and making it propaganda against the police among others things.
@@JamesTheLamenter even if they make it true to the game the publishers wouldn't be happy with all the harsh realities imho
@@ercnsmsk84 yep
Watch mayor of kingstown, the swat team in that show is dope
This one's sanity must've already crumbled...
Shayne you are genuinely the best person to come to for these style of videos, you've got that true crime mannerism but with actual emotion
"Babe wake up shayne dropped a new lore video."
These videos are just so fun to watch! Please keep making videos about this game.
Shayne is going crazy by all the RoN theories
is it just me or does ready or not feel like an arg at this point
No no he’s right
There was actually an Arg for ready or not at some point with references to Lost Carcosa.
@@pepelepew4676 wait what
@rybybgvgvubghnhn Yeah, look up the ready or not arg- The Yellow king and lost carcosa. It is not as lovecraftian as it initially sounds but it's still fascinating.
@@pepelepew4676 Never heard about that, I'll be looking that up at some point.
The shrine is to the Virgin Mary, or more specifically "Our Lady of Guadalupe, which is a Marian Apparition that happened in Mexico to St. Juan Diego. It's one of the biggest apparitions ever, and the main reason why Christianity is so big in Mexico. Latin American Catholics usually ask the Blessed Virgin for intercession if they travel (or just leave their house). This isn't just in Latin America though, Catholics everywhere do this, yet they don't specifically ask "Our Lady Of Guadalupe" for prayers, just "Our Lady". The tattoo of Mary and rosary beads you get from this mission is quite cool too.
It would seem that the devs of Ready or Not are very interested in History and current Geopolitical news. The more I look at this series the more Los Suenos strikes me as a lightly fictionalized microcosm of the United States and its current Geopolitical situation as a whole. This map especially has some content that would catch the attention of anybody living in the region of the southern border. I am not well read on the cave paintings (though it looks to me about like what I suspect a cave painting would look like for any folks who lived where Hurricanes), however the other things on this map would look very familiar to Geopolitical nerds who follow the content of folks like Ed Calderon, Peter Zeihan, and Rocco Vargas.
It's more like the devs are good fans of Sicario
I would love to see a unique mission where we escort los suenos search and rescue throughout their second mission incase cartels decide to retake control of the area. Would be also be a great opportunity to reveal what the glowing eyes are. This game is starting to give some SCP vibes and I love it.
oh boy, cant wait to learn some more deeply disturbing shit
Edit: Damn, this just like… living in Texas. Nothing dark, just sad and depressing
Along the border. Yeah
@@LegendStormcrow lived near el paso for a few years and yep
@@Theology.101 I live in Texas...so I get what you mean.
Texas is still the greatest country in the world. 😂
@@LegendStormcrow hell yeah, we just gotta get the State’s boot off our neck. For how much we love our freedom and hate regulation, Abbot has us as one of the most overpoliced puritanical states in the union
You Shayne, are the reason why I want to play this game.
Can't believe he didn't mention the eyes staring back at you if you use NVG's
Can't wait for the demons and ghosts DLC
Honey, wake up! New Ready or Not lore
I’m all for Ready or Not having a Halloween update that has you exploring the rest of the tunnels while both hunting and being hunted by whatever the Cartel seems to be warning each other of.
All this talk about flooding reminds me that the final mission Hide and Seek takes place just as Hurricane Antonio makes landfall. Maybe future missions or the dev's next project would show the aftermath and tie into the theme.
Love the content, this is actually one of my favorite maps too. Glad to see you went into details about it. Kinda reminds me of the tunnel scene from Sicario
Yup this guy is on Sullivan’s shack with a foil paper hat on this one
Finally I don’t have to get an aneurysm doing this map ❤️
"well i know this will be bad but i can't imagine it will be worse than my own worst fears"
*it was worse*
Dude I listen to these while I’m working and that scream at the end fucking almost gave me a heart attack cuz I’m treating a lawn then just RAAAAAAHHHHH
Yeah baby that was what i was waiting for wooooo
The game has shit loads SCP like wick stuff
Maybe one day there will be a DLC called “contain breach”.
Imagine USIA or other such as MLO summon some kind mind control entity.
I hope it still allergy to bullets
Bro, you didnt cover the easter egg in this map. Wouldve loved to see your take on it
Man i really want you to put all of these videos together to make a 2hour ready or not vid
Great vid thanks
The old dam that is broken :)
7:20
That Saint is "our lady of Guadelupe", also known as the "black virgin"
She was an apparition of the virgin Mary in 1531, outside modern-day Mexico city.
Her visit, and the subsequent artwork made in her honor, is a cornerstone of Latin-American Catholicism.
I'm early again🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
(Bro cooked🗣️🗣️🗣️🔥🔥🔥)
Shayne, you cooked
Goated chanel
Ive mentioned this before but I wonder how much of the vague supernatural elements in the background of RoN are inspired by the tabletop rpg Delta Green
How do you get these amazing freecam shots and what mic do you use?
It's coyote in the East, and coyote in the West.
5:23 whos Riley?
You better not shut up, we need more lore!
One big question I have:
Is there still water in the artificial lake beyond the derelict hydrodam? Or is there a drought going on?
If the former, that apocalyptic flood isn't too far off in the future...
And if the latter, the drought may enable certain cryptids to emerge from their underground hideouts.
Be they mortal, or not.
Yeah, ok Shane
Shane cooking again 👨🍳
Where's my plate 🍽
😊
İf you look the river with nvg you can see 2 eyes directly looking at you
Xipe Totec > Tlaloc. Gimme DLC of that Leatherface Wicker Man mofo. The Santa Muerte of Los Sueños; The Flayed Lord. Makes The Yellow King look like Uncle Touchy.
this is some payday 2 secret type shit
Shrimp people are the true villain of RoN confirmed.
15:11 Trepang2 x Ready or not?
7:20 the saint may be santa muerte?
A lot of times, coyotes will take people's passports and then traffic them or use the passports as leverage for extortion. So that pile of passports is probably real.
Oi, if you're interested about ttrpgs, I'm trying to work on a RoN-inspired cthulu setting and would appreciate someone to ramble with!
5:14 look at the very bottom right lol 😂
The saint is a Mother Mary statue, its official name is Our Lady of Guadalupe.
Dear Lord I just need them to put more Bortac stuff in the game. Is it too much to ask to do ops on the Cartel as the Border Patrol?
Shayne pls keep yapping I beg u
Wait I’m confused, how is the cave carvings evidence? I think it would be better to send Archaeologists after the ordeal then swat to just yoink a ancient artifact.
SHANE KEEP TALKING
1 hour gang
I got here from Reddit
Random internet poll?
Shayne thinks coyote is an English word. What do you call Peyote?
The crying children is an urban legend whenever illegals cross the border through the desert at night they hear a distant crying from a “baby” that follows them for miles supposedly its the devil alluring them
The saint is Mary. It’s a big symbol in Mexican culture. (I even have a giant statue of it in my living room.) it’s just a great addition to detail of the faith many immigrants hold even in places like this.
Bro doesn’t know who the virgin of guadalupe is
coyote is a Nahuatl (aztec tribe) word why would you look for an American translation. if were getting technical you pronounce it with an L, so ko-YO-tl. ( ua-cam.com/video/7nM6n8_m07U/v-deo.html ) which sounds a lot more like coyotee than coyote.
