I believe venues that have a silver fish pools/prize in every match, like pretty much every southwest venue, allows for natural type baits for silvers fishing all year round as the anglers who target them use them all year.
And at Viaduct there is a pellet ban from November to mid-March so tappy pellets isn't an option.

I was fishing bomb and managed to hook the elastic on a method feeder which was foul hooked on a carp - goooo on the double default foul hooker 😂

Sat next to someone at meadow lands he hooked a rod on the reel bail arm which still had carp attached and landed both

Pinged off at last second, I'm sitting on the fence for that.
Lassoed, depends if the rules categorically state a fish must be hooked I guess. Mick Vials just had two perch in a recent video, one hooked that had swam around and lassoed another, it's just a bizarre occurrence.
Catching a snapped off rig or a lost rod/top kit, with a fish still on the end of it, by happenstance, I say it counts. You're potentially saving the fish's life, and clearing the water of a hazard to other fish. Dave Wood had this happen a while ago (on video), general consensus in the comments was that it was fine to weigh it in, having saved the fish.

In my country a foulhooked count, but it is not allowed to do it on purpose...
I believe that a lassoed also, this is it count, but a fish tangled with another fisherman rig is not allowed in championships

Not since I was 6 have I scooped a fish in a landing net, however, a fish in your net counts. No venue has rules saying otherwise, that I have seen. A fish in the net is worth two in the water.

I was once fishing a clubbie at Hayfield, & the bloke next to me had a bite on feeder. Said it felt strange as he was playing it, eventually a rod and reel popped up which he had hooked complete with carp on. He proceeded to land the carp on the rod he had hooked into. When he netted the carp on said rod, he dropped the carp into his keepnet! 😮Nothing could convince me that he should have been able to do that. After to commotion, and him and me saying "bloody hell you have caught a rod" the owner came round from other side of island lake and claimed his rod and reel.😆 Was shit feeder rod, but pretty decent reel. I also once was told by a mate, who is a current top angler that he once saw another high profile angler scoop up a carp which was obviously not well and was swimming around their pegs on the top.....he put it in his net and weighed it in.🐷 Think this happened in an open at Lindholme. I'm afraid if I see something like that happening, I don't care who it is, they would get challenged there and then. Hate cheating. Cheats win nothing really.

Are there any circumstances when a rod and line would out perform the pole when fishing for silvers.

I have one for you guys. I was in a match and a Carl literally settled on the fold of my keep net and just sat there so I scooped him with my landing net and put him in my net. Would you class that as cheating??

    Good dangling there Danny 👍👍
Am I right in thinking that the rod is longer than the whip you were using there?

Lassoed a tench with a cruican on the hook once netted both 😂
Also watched my mate snap his top four on a carp for it to swim through my peg so chucked and bomb over the top of it played it and landed everything for him to walk round the lake with his net and carry the carp back round to his peg and plop it into his net, I just ask him if he wants me to play all his fish for him now 😂😂

No issue with that perch counting - you've played it to the point where you could net it! The lassod chub is no different to a foul-hooker too - as long as they're accidental it's OK. The rig trailing fish, I'm with Andy on them.

Another one to consider if cheating hooked a carp around 8lb, landed it and another that was following it swam into the landing net at the same time as the hooked fish does that count 🤔

    • @winningwaysextra
      @winningwaysextra  Рік тому

Little expanders, 4mm if its good or 2/3mm if its harder... Even fishing a micro on the hook if its rock bottom.

Perch and Chub fine another rig no although I would try to catch the rig and stop the fish suffering but I dont fish matches so its no time loss to me

  • @stoikes

100% counts with the Perch. Firstly, how would it be policed otherwise but the fish has been hooked and landed fairly. Lasooe’d is similar, it’s unfortunate but you can’t police it anyway so the fish is caught.
That said, I am yet to see anything in ANY fisheries match rules that specifically states you can’t use dynamite. Sooooooo……….

Twice now I've seen people scoop fish with the landing net in a match and think it's fine.😂 until I shout oiiii you cheating b@stard are you for real. One guy actually put the fish in his keepnet, and after numerous bollockings he shouted over, right mate I'm starting again and tipped the entire net back. That was on Island at Heronbrook 😂😂😂
