Agreed. I learned about them bc they toured with modest mouse. Both bands sound better live except modest mouse supposedly isn't consistent at all nowadays. MM have been grinding for years though. Touring is really hard and awful for mind-body health. Throw in enjoying drugs and bad performances are excusable imo

the vision and story in hop along's is like no other i've ever heard. frances as a writer blows me away, they take such a different perspective on the meanings displayed in their songs, it feels new. they execute it in their singing and tackle another angle of the message and it just feels so multifaceted in the way frances voice expresses such a hard emotion thats felt in their music. it drives me insane, im actually addicted

I really wish they had scheduled coming to Montreal during their tour this year. I'm going to try to make it to Toronto, because goddamn do I have to see these guys play live. I am literally going to drive 8 hours by myself to go see this band and then turn around and drive back in time for work. That's how much I love this fucking music.

I love this song. You can hear the emotion in her voice. I love that it cracks, it gives it such a raw power. This band sounds a lot like Nirvana. Very similar voice to Kurt Cobain's, merely more feminine. Great sound. Hoping they come to Minneapolis or Chicago.
this song is the perfect first person perspective. I didn't dig the lyrics at first but now i sort of think of the "voice" in the song along the lines of Catcher in the Rye. Getting all worked up inwardly over their own anxiety.... i imagine her panicking at the so small and embarrasing(she kind of sounds like she's imitating someone violently bawling their eyes out and trying to sing through it) part and ending up in the bathroom for sanctuary where she screams that next part but also adjusts herself to appear normal and finish the job...... I'm not a waitress, but that's literally me every other day..... sometimes i need a minute to rave and repeat myself, "still You and some others stick.....around. RAGE MODE." Chefs in the back like : the customer is al-- o nO "WE'VE LONG CLOSED NOW" And your boss is like.... i didn't realize she was insane Or maybe that's just me heh .. those last few lines could be figurative, even. But i like to think of the whole song as narrative rather than symbolic poetry.....That would make me feel like a hipster. Moral of the story... don't linger at fuckin restaurants waitresses and kitchen staff are people too .... You wouldn't be able to force your plumber to stay and fix the leaky roof and wire your sprinklers....
