The concept of Acolyte is cool, but the show is just, simply bad. Poor writing, predictable, boring characters, dialogue is brain rot😂mega wasted potential. I’m glad some people are enjoying but it does feel like they’re watching something I aint😫
Honestly i think they should have just adapted the high republic books into a show first, not only would we get much more context for the era, but the books are miles ahead of the show in terms of writing and i fear that it may never happen because the show is kinda bombing
The only thing i actually found enjoyable about the Acolyte is the fighting choreography. I think it's step above the usual fight choreography of the star wars franchise..... other than that...nothing good about it.

Great video that provides more than surface level argumants! I personally have been mostly enjoying the shows mainly just because of the Jedi, lightsabers, stuff like that. But episode 3 was WACK for sure!

the reason star wars is failing is because they have lost all respect for the franchise they bought and the fans they should be serving
Not only have they lost respect for the franchise, they lost respect for the fans and want to court a different fan base and have become adversarial towards their current fans.
Also, the fans they want, women, aren't interested in Star Wars, at least not en masse.
They lost all respect because they hired activist producers/directors that only care about pushing an agenda of "wokeness" and are continually bringing that to the movies/shows. That even goes to the top of Disney, the president of Disney is also an activist.
They went political. They are forcing diversity. I’ve seen it in business and it never works. Get the best person for the job and I guarantee your crew will be diverse by default. There isn’t a one type of anything that is the best at anything. Oh yea, piss poor producer.

Worst thing is the amount of off-screen action we're not getting.... why did a fortress on a mountain made of stone BURN?!?!?! Just how? A small fire started and the next moment the entire coven gone --- not a whimper or a peep out of them --- they're meant to be all powerful witches controlling force/thread/magick but nah -- fire man -- gone
Then we have Mei's homicidal tendancies at seeing her sister go with the jedi but again, after offing 2 jedi masters she's done with being the baddie cos reasons?!
Off screen wookie death -- unforgivable
The fact that the jedi can't sense for shit and lose to 1-on-1 fights. They let the pharmacy guy go even though it was clear he's supplied the poison so was an accomplice to murder --- but nah -- let him go no worries
The padawan going to the local and asking if they'd seen a wookie "big and hairy"! Like every damn wookie's not big and hairy and despite him being gone a year the rat dude can smell the guys scent after a YEAR!!!!
It's just so inconsistent with itself as much as it is at odds with Star Wars lore.
I could forgive most of the shows sins if it was at least a good, balanced, riveting story but it's just so lame and contradictory of it's own pre-established rules.
Its time.
Iger needs to step in and fire everyone at Lucasfilm, even the homies like Filloni. They gotta clean house if they ever want to save this franchise.
Based on the latest rumors about Iger, he is also an activist that continually tries to push "wokeness" and hires DEI producers/directors..... which only hurts their product..... Iger needs to fire himself.

I think your first point is the fact that the other shows don't market or throw it in your face or make it a priority at the neglect of the story and lore etc. They do interviews and market it with dei instead of the story and those that call this out are being labelled with the same tags as the actual ists and phobes etc. I think it's being deliberate because they knew the shows gonna suck before they rolled it out so they use dei as the diversion tactic as something to blame for the hate.
Agree with everything you've said but just thought I'd give my opinion on your first point, I hate being tarnished as a fan for pointing out what SW are doing.
I still think we will see that the jedi were more involved with the witches dying making them all feel guilty, the wookie fighting in the trailer will be from a flashback of this happening, i can almost guarentee it! That being said, the show still sucks, the writing is terrible.
It just blows my mind that with a franchise of its popularity, they give us shit writers, if they are this bad at writing, there are hundreds of novels, comics and games to pull source material from, I’m sure that most Star Wars fans would rather the old republic, the dawn of the Jedi, the new Jedi order, and so many more stories from legends to this, or hire good writers with the insane budgets, to give us new stories that are incredible
If we find out that the Master is mother Koril it’d be like a kick in the Star Wars nuts for me when everyone thinks it’s the shampoo less Ezra dude

Honestly this is the best acolyte review ive seen even if i don’t agree with most of your points, so many videos coming out just paint acolyte fans as insane shills or mfs being critical of acolyte like they’re insane racists/homophobes and that kinda culture war nonsense doesn’t belong in Star Wars discourse because its making us focus on the real world and star wars is an escape for that, great video man

I’m not a fan of the show either. But, come on, 15 and a half minutes of you dogging on it with all of your takes coming straight from Stan twitter? Why not just say, “I don’t like it,” move on, then focus on the superior show; House of the Dragon? Why continue to cover it when it’s clearly not your cup of tea?
