I just purchased the Aurora 300's after waiting for about a year. I waited too long. They fall within my wheelhouse of sound. I've had them for about five days and they've blown me away. I went and ordered an open box pair of Celans. I want to compare the Celans to my existing Buchardts. I'm gonna have to put something up for sale lol. Thanks for your great reviews!
Nice bro! The Celans are very different than both Aurora and Buchardt, the top end is much more effortless and with much more sparkle. Feel free to hop in the free discord if you want and let us know how it goes!
Can you please tell me how the Celans compare to the Aurora 300s? I mostly listen to 70s and 80s Rock New Wave and easy listening. Are they worth the difference in cost? I'm trying to find a pair of bookshelf speakers I can get away with without a Sub. Your help is most appreciated!
@@vinylman6580 I have both, the Celans are quite a few classes above the Auroras in everything. While the Aurora is a very good speaker it doesn't wow like the Celan does. I don't know how much of a difference you would feel with your music though. I only listen to modern music in which the Celans make me routinely exclaim "Holy 💩" at how good they sound and the experience they provide.
In a blind test by Finnish Hifimaailma magazine, Heco was the best, beating Focal Aria 906, Revel M16, Amphion Argon 1, SVS Ultra, Dali Opticon 2 and many others.
@@mhester99 I posted the link here, but apparently UA-cam has removed it. Maybe you'll find it if you search "Hifimaailma Heco Celan Revolution 3" on Google.
Gotta say brother, the aesthetics and build quality have me sold. Got a birthday coming so I'm just gonna order a pair and tell my wife it's my birthday present. Thanks for turning me on to this model from Heco - you do fantastic work b / keep going!
I tested several bookshelf speakers in my home, Sonus Faber Lumina, Polk R200, JBLs, Paradigm and the Heco Celan. I am such a huge Sonus Faber that I was sure I would pick them, but the Heco's were better. Purchased them, along with center, Ambient's for side and rear surrounds. Now, Audio Advice is no longer carrying them...guessing not enough sales. Better than those I tested, but I keep thinking there may be something more out there to wow me. Such a challenging room, 17'x23' with 14' ceilings. No room for towers.
Nice job. I have these. I like them without the treble cut. Just move them a little off axis. Psychologically not having a resistor in the path is better. They are beautifully made in piano black. The clean wool based cone material is nice. The tweeter has a unique face plate. The binding posts and port look cool. My old room has two walls with wood paneling so not in need of a wood finish. My 1st generation Canto Vento 7 have all metal drivers. I wanted a comparison. The Canton are made in Germany, amazing build quality. I love these even more. They cost me 3grand as a 10 yr old close out.
When you have a few minutes and if are so inclined, please remove the woofer or binding post plate and see what you have inside for stuffing. 2 Channel Listening guy said all he has was thin poly sheets onthe sides and tops. He added wool. Mine had a good deal of wool stuffing. He's convinced the prior owner of mine added it.
Coś pomyliłeś kolego. Tam była tylko wata w środku. A koleś wykleił folią bitumiczną i dal wełnę a watę w kawałkach wyrzucił. Mam te kolumny u dobrze grają. Żresztą poprawiać firmę po co, skoro grają dobrze.
@@dawidnowak3256 I have done nothing as of now, so I cannot have made any mistake. The actual wool stuffing was in mine when I received them as I said. I bought them used so it's possible that the prior owner added that. I have no idea though. I'm not sure what you mean by "cotton wool" as it translates. are you referring to the thin white polyester panels attached to the sides and top? That was all that was in the pair that 2 Channel Listening reviewed. If that is the factory standard then that is very minimal and thus can be improved upon. As to adding the bitumen foil material, doing so to any cabinet will reduce it's resonance (as will bracing) and reducing cabinet resonance is an improvement to any speaker.
I’m not going to take the drivers out. Just unscrewing and screwing back is going to lesson its attachment. I would trust the engineers at Heco before a UA-camr who took them apart. I doubt that the cost of cabinet stuffing is more than a few pennys. I remember Sonus Faber saying they think it gives it a livelier sound in a Stereophile manufactures comment.
@@damianzaninovich4900. Mechanically/physically unscrewing and screwing back will do zero. That’s Plain physics. But no big deal if you don’t want to know more about your speakers. Not everyone does or is interested in technical aspects of things. Wool stuffing is def not pennies. Every maker of everything makes cost choices and has to draw the line. Just like Heco does not use expensive crossover parts in these. They can’t afford to at this price point. A manufacturer makes something as good as it can be “at a given price”. Cost is never a no object thing except in the most crazy priced items.
I tore into one of mine and there was a good deal of wool stuffing in addition to the minimal poly panels on the sides and top. Being used it’s possible the prior owner added that after watching the 2 Channel Listening review
I continue to believe his pair should have been returned under warranty. My pair didn't have any issues and will most likely be my product of the year.
@@NemoPropaganda I told him that mine had wool stuffing, and he’s convinced that someone else did that and they didn’t come from the factory like that at that price point. I have a roll of that sound deadening material, used in cars and will go ahead and lime the inside of the cabinets with it just to help out with resonances. It’s a pretty thick cabinet and I put a caliper to it and it’s 20 mm or 8/10 of an inch. If I feel really ambitious, I may cut a large dowel to fit inside as a brace. I like projects!
@@mhester99 if you enjoy projects I say go for it, you may want to mess around with one of the CSS kits too, fantastic value!! But from my perspective the Celan doesn't need any mods, I took mine to 110dB without any issues.
@@NemoPropaganda I was seriously considering the 2TD-X kit that they have for 20% off. So you can get the flat pack and upgraded electronics for ~$1500 now. Had been looking at the GR Research kits too. Especially the open baffle bookshelf speakers, which I think are called the N exotica. Those of course need a sub. But when these Heco’s came up so cheap I decided to go that route. Maybe I’ll get Danny to design an upgraded X-over. I very well may order his tube connectors for them. Or at a minimum find some non-ferrous nuts for the binding posts.
We in Europe have had Heco for 4 years. When I wrote on the forum that my Revolution3 is better than SVS Ultra, I was laughed at, but the tests showed that. I have Revolution7 Revolution4 and Revolution3 at home. Atmos and the SVS sub, of course, and the Rel ht sub: ).Great speakers. Recently I was thinking about changing to a more expensive one, but I only paid $3,200 for the Heco 5.0.
I had the chance to buy Canton speakers, the ones with the ceramic tweeter but didnt when it was around 1700. I thought it was too large for my target size of speakerd. If my room size changes, like when i move, these are definitely ones to consider especially if they go under a grand like these did in july.
I just bought the satin white pair and they look SHARP! Thanks for sharing all your thoughts on your discord channel as well. Having that quick way of communicating allowed me to make a fast decision and snag the last pair of Celan Rev 3’s that my importer had. So no missing out for me this time! 👍. Now I’m amp shopping… gotta try and find the right amp to run it.
I see for the bass extension you have 30Hz and for the level +- ?? dB, it's not listed in the specifications but I had a chat over email with one of the representants at Heco, the 30Hz is -10 dB.
Two speakers I would be interested in comparing these to is the Revival sprint 3 and the Canton Townus 30! I owned these but the black are fingerprint magnets. I might buy them in the wood finish because they are great speakers!
@@NemoPropaganda My friend, I thought I would mention it in case you were misinformed. Magnat makes some awesome speakers as well. I believe HECO and MAGNAT were once the same company. Not exactly sure. Stay safe.
Great reviews! I have a question on the quality of the cabinet *lack of bracing, shoddy damping material, air gaps) and issues playing above 85db where things supposedly fell apart with the cabinet noticeably resonating!. Did you play them at louder levels? The reviewer opened up the speaker and there was literally no bracing very little shoddy acoustic material and air gaps/leaks in the cabinet!. I am wondering if this is a one off issue or just the quality level? Thanks for your assistance!
I did not have any of these problems and played them as loud as 110dB sustained without any issues. Maybe his pair was damaged in shipping or something.
Just opened mine and have them playing now! One has a good boo-boo on the front top right corner and the other has one on top rear left corner. But they were also $590 so……. I will either fill and convert to from piano black to white or veneer them. They DO sound BIG! Love the bass. They’re playing with the boosted treble jumper currently. Will try without also. Will also open up to check the inside but I had no issues with them at 100db. However I have some of the butyl/bitumen whatever sound deadening material for cars, so I will plan to line them with that. May even get adventurous and fit a few dowels in for bracing cuz I like projects.
Hi, great review, many thanks. I bought a couple of these HECOs (used). In my opinion, they lack the openness, airiness and space at the top, as many describe them. The treble lacks air and space at the top, even compared to the Elac DBR62. Maybe because the inner walls of my pair of the loudspeakers are covered with a layer of damping material, such as cotton wool. As far as I know, the walls of the speakers are not covered with anything inside from the factory.
that sounds very odd and is not inline with most peoples experience of the celan. I owned 2 pairs of the DBR62 for a long time (great speaker!) and the Celan is much more open in the top frequencies and has much better separation and refinement overall. The Celan should be a really big upgrade over the DBR62 unless your amp is more budget, then sometimes budget amps can homoginze the experiecing making it difficult to hear the upgrade. Like on a $500 amp my S400 MK2 didn't sound that different than Revel M16, but on my higher end amps it's a huge difference. Higher end doesn't mean crazy expensive, even something reasonable like the $1700 CHoco EMEI will be fantastic! But most sub $500 avr or amp will not show you the upgrade very well. Hope that helps!
The amplifiers are not so bad: Jadis Orchestra Reference, Lyngdorf TDAI-2200, Belles Reference 150A (3000-5000 $). I"'m not just talking about Elaсs, I also have anither bookshelves: Larsen 4.3, Audiosolution Overture 2, Guru Audio Q10, Scansonic M5 loudspeakers. Heco lacks aftertones, overtones, airiness, they don’t "sing", they don’t involve me. That’s why I’m "surprised", that’s why I’m wondering: has the speakers this 3 cm layer of cotton wool "from the factory" or someone had updated them. I read somewhere that after such an update the speakers became much more muffled.
@@video-en6ws if you bought them second hand maybe the previous owner modified them? Try emailing heco a picture of the interior and see what they say?
Excellent review of a lesser known speaker! How would these compare against the CSS Criton 1TDX? They’re about the same money (minus the DIY time cost)
Don't get the 1TDX. Get the 1TDX Superior that nobody reviews. More sophisticated crossover, upgraded tweeter. It's over $300 just in tweeters. Glue it together, wrap it in metal flake eggplant and be blown away.
I have not upgraded my 1TD to the X model yet but the regular 1TD competes no problem, it has more flavor to the sound, darker treble, more depth to the midrange, much stronger bass, but also much harder to drive so its not a low volume champion but around 80dB or more its amazing!
@@NemoPropaganda Thanks for your thoughts- after seeing the HECOs had paper mid bass cones I was curious about the low end. But as you point out, 90db is going to be easier to drive than the 87 db Criton. I splurged with the X and the $$ crossover upgrade and they really have a sense of scale and have incredible bass like no other sub $1k standmounts I’ve heard. My 160w Emotiva A2 seems to be a good match. But the gloss black finish on these is sharp! They have definitely piqued my interest. Great video!
@@NemoPropaganda Hope you upgrade yours to 1TD-X soon. I have them, after having owned both the Focal 906 and Buchardt S400m2, and I find them more natural sounding than both, and better in every regard!
What a great review thank you for that. I have the focal kanta 1 and like them a lot , would you say the celan revolution 3 are the more natural sounding of the two ? Is it worth to check the revolution 3 or will i loose too many things ? Thank you very much
This speaker is discontinued so it doesn't really matter anymore but this would be a downgrade from the Kanta No1. If you want an upgrade from the Kanta that would be something like the Platimon.
This review is SPOT ON. I'll say again, spot on. I listened to these Celan Revolution's at Audio Advice. We compared them to everything there. They beat everything. First, the cabinet is far and away much nicer than anything else you'll see. It is a large bookshelf. These belong on stands. The sound characteristics are EXACTLY as described in this review. They are just better than anything else anywhere close to this price range. If made in China doesn't bother you, you can't beat these at this price or probably even double the price. Even better than the Revel M106 at twice the price. GREAT REVIEW!
hey what's up Mike! Always nice to hear about someone elses first hand experience, I loved these so much I ended up buying the review sample. This really is one of the few products that does punch above its weight!!! Absolute hidden gem in my book.
@@NemoPropaganda nice man. You got the best bookshelf speakers for $1000ish available. And those piano black cabinets are gorgeous…Loving your reviews man. Best on the tube. Accurate, detailed, well spoken and to the point. Keep rocking the reviews!
i have to say one of the best qualities of the aurora 300 is making every song sound great. sometimes (mostly the more expensive hifi speakers) only sound well with high quality sources. How is that with this celan ?
Celan is more detailed in the treble so it will not fix a poor recording the same way Aurora will but its not so revealing that you need specialty recordings. I can listen to the Celan with poor recordings no problem.
Martin logan is a different sound because of their tweeter. If you like the AMT you may enjoy the ML sound, personally it's not for me so my vote goes to Heco!
Great review! I am narrowing down to S400 MKII Special Edition (when the next run comes out @~$3k) or now the Heco Celan 3 after seeing this review (~1.1k). I have a smaller room, treated well.. system: Kinki Studios EX-M1+, Denafrips Pontus + Iris 12th, Eversolo DMP-A6.. + Fluence RT85, EARp clone w/ vintage tubes... what do you recommend?
oh man, you're asking me about 2 of my favorite speakers right now, this is a really hard question. The Buchard certainly is technically better but I think personal taste will be the bigger factor here. The Celan is more neutral slightly froward while the S400 MK2 by comparison is on the darker side. Both have good strong bass, buchards bass is a little stronger. I have not heard the SE however so I'm not sure how that model is different. If you can spend up to $3k though the Fritz Carbon 7 SE MK2 should also be considered. It's a little larger than both, splits the differennce in the treble region as far as bright or dark, but has much better sepparation than the other two in the midrange all the way up to the treble. It has the least bass of the 3 but the highest quality bass. I don't know if I'm being helpful or making this more confusing but those are my thoughts.
Hello Nemo. Bought the Hecos Aurora on your recommendation and love it. Im seriously considering buying this also. But i have to ask you if this Celan is in anyway fatiguing or bright. I really don't like bright speakers or anywhere bright. Thanks again Nemo.
great choice! the celan is brighter than the aurora for sure, it's hard to say if you will consider it too bright or not. If you want an upgrade without any increase in treble energy the CSS Criton 1TD (non-X model) is in your future.
@@NemoPropaganda Is it as bright as the Klipsch RP series? Or equal or less bright than the triangle BR03? I can manage the triangles 😁 Thanks again if you happen to answer me again. Much appreciated.
@@zombielandiii2711 I'd say more like BR03 but much higher quality, the BR03 actually were a smidgen past my limit and while the Celan are similar in terms of quantity the quality is so much nicer I love it and have no problems with it.

Nice review and beautiful speaker. I went to audio advice to check out the 300 and could only wish they made height speakers. I'm looking for a brand that makes speakers for a complete Atmos system.
Most HT guys I know don't have matching atmos speakers, but I understand your desire to have things matching. That could get expensive. I'm sure their are a few options but SVS & Arendal are the only two that come to mind immidiately. Hope that helps.
Great review! I'd love to know how the highly regarded ascend acoustic sierra 1 v2 stack up against the heco celan rev 3!? $200 price difference. Thanks!
I have all 3 of those here, technically I have the R100, UBR62, and Celan Revolution 3, anyway it's like this: The UBR62 is overhyped & overpriced, the Polk Reserve is absolutely amazing, I love it, the Heco Celan Revolution 3 is the top dog though. It does everything the Polk Reserve does and does it better and with more refinement. Celan Revolution 3 gets my vote.
@@NemoPropaganda Thanks for the feedback. You are one in very few reviewers who does reply positively to your viewers. Thank you soo much. There's a guy on UA-cam who showed the internals of the celan that have me concern about the cabinet internal structure. But everyone said it an awesome sounding speaker.
I’m very, very interested in this speaker! I have KLH Model 3’s in my living room powered by a Marantz PM6006 and they are a special (if different) sounding speaker. I am trying out Dynaudio Emit 20’s in my listening room powered by the Arcam SA20 integrated amplifier. Do you think the Heco Celan speakers would be worth the price difference of the Dyns I picked up for $787? This is my first pair of entry Dynaudio, previously I’ve had many pairs of the Contour series. My listening room is 12’ x 17’ with the speakers on the wide wall. The room is well treated. I am on a kick of finding affordable audio that sounds very high end and svelte. In my previous “audiophile” life I delved into the high end of Mark Levinson, Revel, Sunfire, Krell, McIntosh, Dynaudio, etc…This affordable audio is going back to my roots, I love it!
I would like to buy the 2 Heco aurora 1000 front speakers for my 5.1 dolby setup, but I'm skittish about the heco aurora 30 center speaker, I'm afraid they will burn its two bass-midrange drivers, in fact they have a diameter of 125 mm and are to small for be good. I have a Yamaha V6A amplifier that delivers 100 watts of power per channel, I have already burned 1 speaker that I have with my amplifier, and now combining small speakers with the aurora 1000s doesn't seem like a good idea. I would like to ask you for a suggestion, what do you think if I combine the Heco Celan Revolution 4 Center Speaker with the aurora 1000, would this choice make sense in your opinion or would it ruin the surround quality for me?
I have been out of the game for a minute and had to sell both my two channel audio system and my front 3 speakers in my home theater. However, I am ready again! I am buying these for my two channel system. But are these overkill for a theater set up? Should I go with the Aurora series for my front 3, or would you pony up for the Celan line for the theater too? Thanks for the great review!
Hey what's up Jeff, welcome back to the game! I love and own both Aurora & Celan despite owning much more expensive gear so it's safe to say I really love both and feel each one is an absolute champ at it's price point. With that said the Aurora is on the dark side of neutral, generally that's not what guys look for in a theater rig. The Celan is much more open in the top end offerring up much more detail and clarity overall which will make a better fit for what you're doing. The Celan is worth every penny it costs over the Aurora. Go for the Celan, don't look back!
My heco 2019yers celan revolution 7 revolution 4 front speakers😂 Black piano😂Surround revolution 3 & atmos svs prime elevation 4x. & your filrm Rel ht1205. & Onkyo rz70 im love it.
Built in China, otherwise it would be priced higher. I considered this speaker but wanted smaller, otherwise it was one of the top considerations around its price point when on sale. They also checked most of the boxes. I myself preferred the wood veneer version which has not come to the States..that alone may have changed my decision. Ended up with ML 15i for mains and Dali Opticon 1 for desktop. Both sound nice and do their job even though there's better for more $$$. Tough finding speakers 13 in or smaller that sound good and are easy to drive but there are a few.
the i150 is highly customizable so I'd imagine it would work well with just about any speaker as long as it's setup well and you know how to use all it's features.
@@NemoPropaganda1td? I seen you mention you may hear the 1tdx soon, could you throw this comparison in when you get the chance with a possible 1tdx review? My thoughts are the 2tdx might be a high performer to price if the 1td or 1tdx could possibly best this model.

The Heco Auroras made me smile, but lacked in stage/imaging/detail, the focal chora sounded beautiful, but lacked in emotion... Looking for new speakers, any recommendations? :)
Heco Celan Revolution 3 bridges that gap nicely, it's much more open than the Aurora but keeps a lot of the emotion that the Chora lacks. Buchardt S400 MK2 is also a nice option.
I've been looking for a while to upgrade to a higher level of speaker, probably in the $1,000.00 to $2,000.00 dollar range. Seriously considered the CSS Criton 1TDX , Buchardt S400 MK!!, Wharfdale Linton's, you obviously rate these (Heco Celan Revolution 3) quite high , I realize a lot depends on personal taste but I was wondering what you would consider the best bang for your buck in this price range? I should also mention that I have an RSL Speedwoofer 10 MK2 to cover the bottom end.
I cannot answer value based questions since value is arbitrary and highly personal. I have not heard the Lintons but the rest are all great speakers to the point that all 3 (s400, 1td, celan) are part of my personal collection and I listen to them often, I don't think theres a wrong choice to be made between those 3.
Hello Nemo. Another awesome video, thanks! How would these pair with my now TA2 and T/5x sub (thanks again for the most excellent recommendation!)…? I still have the B1+s and love the clarity on top, but desperately need to open up the middle and the overall soundstage…. Thoughts…?
The B1+ is a little bit of a vcurve, you'll have a hard time opening up the midrange but room treatment at the first reflection points could help a lot. I feel the Celan is a very flexible speaker. I don't see it having any pairing issues with anything.
I generally place all speakers 30" from the front baffle to the rear wall in my room, that's what sounds best. But every room is a little different so it's hard to be 100% sure. Any speaker with strong bass is usually going to need some room to sound its best.
@@DG-rc6rr every room is a little different, personally I don't believe rear versus front port makes a big difference as long as you have at least 3 inches cr more between the speaker and the wall. Distance from the rear wall is going to affect bass response and imaging, and since every room is different it's hard to say if your room will need the speakers pulled out a lot or just a little bit. I wouldn't choose a speaker based on the ports location personally.
Hello again Nemo. I watched a review of these speakers by another UA-camr. He said they “fall flat on their face” above 80db and by 90db to 95db are an “unlistenable mess”. I know there are a lot of variables to consider, but I am curious if you pushed these speakers and found anything “undesirable” at higher volumes…? Thanks again for your hard work…!
I was wondering how these faired. Would you go with yhe Arendal 1961 or these for home theater with Yamaha A4A ? I think the best center woukd win make the decision for me. I'm going to save up for a quality set front stage. I have Klipsh RP bookshelf and center now.
hey nemo...just ran across your channel and your reviews on Heco. I have not heard of these either but now they seem to be everyone's darling. I am running Elac debut 2 b6.2 on a Rotel Tribute. I love my elacs, but I am thinking about making a listening room upstairs. How would the Heco work with my Tribute...just asking what you think. Thanks for the great work!
yes I did, my review is based on using all my amplifiers I have on hand. As far as the white I'm guessing the MOQ was per sku and maybe audioadvice didn't want to have twice as much inventory on a brand that is still very niche in the USA.
Hi Nemo, I have been watching and enjoying your reviews since the early days. You put these speakers on my radar and I have the opportunity to buy a pair for a decent price to replace my LS50's. Were there any genres where this speaker did not sound so good? I have an extensive taste in music but a large portion of it is Hip Hop & Electronic music such as Drum & Bass. I will be pairing with a Sub. I really value your opinion and if you can take the time to advise me, I would be very grateful. Many thanks.
@@NemoPropaganda Thank you for your reply Nemo. My Celan Rev 3's will be delivered next week. The LS50's are decent speakers but they always leave me craving a fuller sound. Much respect to you from Ireland.

So the Buchardt S400 MKII(available used for $1100!) looks like the best option, until you go all the way up to the $6500 Platimon. Emotiva TA2 would be the best budget amp? Another reviewer says the Celan R3 speaker becomes a massive mess of distortion above 75dB, because of poor internal driver and cabinet stabilization, which can be fixed yourself by adding more dampening material.
Would be nice if you could review other european manufacturers' gear, specially subwoofers, as there aren't many reviews and i think there are some good ones from brands like for example magnat, canton, quadral and xtz. This would be great for your european subscribers as british and american brands' subwoofers become a lot more expensive here.
Hey there. Thank you for the video. I like your routine. I was very interested in these speakers for both their alleged high performance and I love the style. For some reason, I love the flowing lines of the Heco speakers, most if not all Revels and some of the exotics from Sonus Faber, Usher, Swan etc. At any rate, another reviewer had noted a very busy cabinet at high volumes and he said he could hear it. This was a heavy speaker at around 22 lbs or so, so I figured it was the heavy, stout cabinet that wouldn't vibrate, This reviewer went on to cover as much of the walls inside of the cabinet as he could with bitumen undercoating sheets. He showed the inside...no bracing at all. I was shocked. Maybe they figured the curved cabinets would me more rigid. He filled the cabinet with wool and put it back together. He claimed it settled the cabinet right down. You were in love with these speakers. I guess the cabinet harmonics didn't bother you? Still dig the looks. Thank you.
the cabinet harmonics did not bother me because they did not exist. 2ch listening got a faulty set, his speakers were literally missing glue/bonding inside the cabinet. We had a little chat and I suggested he return them since they were defective but he said he already fixed them and liked them very much so he didn't mind. He also went on to say he still recommends the speakers so I don't understand why there is a problem. The Heco Celan continue to be the best speakers I've ever heard under $1500 and will most likely be my product of the year.
Thank you for the reply. 2 channel listening just got a bad pair, I guess that happens. Most of the better speakers made in Chine these days are pretty good. I live in North Carolina not to far from Raleigh. Maybe I owe it to myself to head on over to Audio Advice for a listen. Thanks again for the reply.@@NemoPropaganda
Hi excuse me, is it just my personal illusion or are there really MORE and BETTER options at more price points than pretty much at any time previous? Speakers. Subs. Connectors. Sources. Whatever. I feel like we never had so many great choices before
Yeah, the Buchardt are better …. But spend about $200-250 and upgrade the Celan’d X-over with components comparable to the Buchardt’s. That would be interesting, I think I will do it.
@@NemoPropaganda I don’t think so. I just priced it out on Parts Express and Madisound. The Jentzen Caps are their low-medium quality Cross Caps. The Jentzen caps + the 0.1 uF Miflex caps for both speakers + the 4 electrolytic caps all together is about $135 tops. The 4 resistors look like Jentzen resistors and they are $3-4 each. So that’s another $15-16. Now we are at $150. You can definitely upgrade the inductors for about $100 total. So yeah, the cost of the Buchardt speakers’ X-over is about $250 total. I have seen pictures of the crossover for the Celans. Similar number of parts if not the same. I have upgraded X-overs in at least 6 speakers so far. It’s not hard.
Interesting review of a less familiar brand. Dynaudio Evoke 10 at 1,500 Euro (which I own) is a notable step up from the Emit 10s across the board and a strong challenger to any small room speaker.
I wish I had the money to audition all these speakers I see lol I really like metal domes or horn compression waveguides etc so not sure I’d like the sound of these

I meant the HECO FLAGSHIP for review hopefully, looks amazing then I just could replace my PMC Twenty5 26s The high-end flagship from Heco LOUDSPEAKER TECHNOLOGY TAKEN TO EXTREMES If developers can draw on the full technological potential, if material costs only play a minor role and product designers have a free hand in designing, then high end is created in its purest form. La Diva, our new top model, fulfills all of these requirements and, despite its name, is extremely sociable. HIGH AND MIDRANGE PAR EXCELLENCE The alpha and omega of excellent sound are carefully selected components and these are in abundance in the La Diva. A 2nd generation Fluctus tweeter is used in the high frequency range. The 30mm polyfiber compound dome sits in a solid aluminum front plate, which has the special wave geometry that gives the tweeter a perfect dispersion. A powerful double magnet system guarantees unadulterated performance up to the highest levels. The elaborately designed midrange is driven by an AlNiCo magnet system. The combination of aluminum, nickel and cobalt, which is responsible for the name, offers extremely high magnetic field strengths and is extremely temperature-stable, which means that our midrange is unsurpassed in terms of dynamics and resolution. The 25mm voice coil provides the thrust for the tightly clamped membrane made from the legendary HECO kraft paper. This is made from pre-selected, Nordic coniferous wood with particularly strong fibers, which is superior to conventional paper membranes, as their strong fibers together with wool threads from German production form a tightly connected fiber network that combines maximum stability with minimum weight. The separate mid-range cabinet is open to the rear and aperiodically muffled. BASS HIGH SIX The bass membranes of the Heco La Diva are of course also made of kraft paper. Two 200 mm models with 32 mm voice coils work synchronously in the baffle. But that's not all: four bass radiators, two on the right and two on the left, ensure an even deeper bass down to 17 Hz. The connection terminals, which not only offer the option of tri-wiring and tri, demonstrate that the technical care does not end with the details -Amping separately for each frequency range, but also enable the high-frequency range to be adjusted by +2 dB and the mid-range range by -2 dB. It goes without saying that behind all this there is an elaborate crossover with components with the tightest tolerances. A CASE LIKE OUT OF A TEXTBOOK All of this is packaged in a housing that is second to none. Solid and with a streamlined cross-section, it nips resonances inside in the bud. With its noble and timeless piano lacquer, the La Diva is an eye-catcher in every living environment. However, it derives its special charm from the details made of solid aluminum. Both the base plate with its adjustable metal cone tips, which guarantee a safe and precise stand on any surface, as well as the side struts that protect the passive radiators from unintentional contact, are made of the high-tech material. All of this adds up to a total weight of an impressive 49.8 kg per speaker, perfectly proportioned to a height of 124 cm, width of 38.5 cm and depth of 46.5 cm.
Man o man, why do you exist? I almost pulled the trigger on these many times for my 2 channel room,, I also own the Heco Aurora 300 and like them., but I couldn't find any reviews on them and I was looking for speakers to own for a long time so i had to be sure about them. I just bought the KEF R3 Meta speakers (Indigo blue) so I am set there. But I still want these. Even more after this video. I could buy for my home theater but I would want 3 across the front and I think they only sell them in pairs. Plus , I alreday have SVS across the front in piano gloss white. In, my experiences speakers are hard to sell. But man, I WANT THESE! In any case, I am glad for the review.

You don't want to be european then... Focal is one the few examples where it's not the other way around. Heco for example is more expensive in europe and that makes no sense at all as they are a European company.
Not a fan of the aesthetics cos it looks like it came out of a 2000s euro pomo catalogue but in some ways thats charming that it still has the chrome and the flair that some other box speakers have lost
Specs??, no frequency response info. HECO speakers have not been reviewed by most reviewers because they are too feeling good for the money! Andrew Robinson loved the HECO Aurora 700 Towers as one of the best Speakers he ever had in house…buuut never mentions them in comparison with any other systems. The build quality of this speaker is literally “UNAPPROACHABLE” from any other offerings under 3 Grand!! I have the original KLH Kendall Towers which when I got them for 1299.00/pair, which are the only other Speakers the are in the same class both Sonically and Value, but pale in comparison to looks!! HECO is a real “Giant” killer when it comes to High End, which is why they go under the wire of the most popular reviewers.
when something about a stranger disturbs you it's generally a reflection of something inside you that is unresolved. I'll admit I can be arrogant, no doubt about that, I'm arrogant enough to have started a youtube channel, I'd even go as far as to say all youtubers are vain and arrogant to some degree but the fact that it disturbs you is your issue you must resolve. Maybe it's jealousy, maybe you're unhappy inside about something else, I don't know, I'm not your therapist but please improve yourself from within. This kind of comment makes you look very ugly on the inside.
Looking for new speakers currently, and after watching your review and comparisons I really thought these might be the ones. Then I found the RRP in Australia - $2999 WTF!! Ripped off in AUS once again 🥲.
@@vinylman6580 depends how much you like clarity, the Celans have much more where the Aurora is a darker speaker overall. Both have strong bass.
@@vinylman6580 I have both, the Celans are quite a few classes above the Auroras in everything. While the Aurora is a very good speaker it doesn't wow like the Celan does.

Wow, thanks for turning me on to these speakers 🙏 I’ve never heard of HECO before, but they are now on my short list.
AWESOME CONTENT!! Thanks buddy!!
thank you sir!
Great review! Thank you for bringing us new products and information. Really appreciate your direct and clear prospective.
My pleasure!
Recently I was thinking about changing to a more expensive one, but I only paid $3,200 for the Heco 5.0.
love that, yeah brother, Heco is really good! I ended up buying the review sample :)
Yes! Heco makes great value for money speakers.
Amazing review 👏
Which subwoofers paired better with them?
They were not picky with subwoofer pairing so choose based on your personal taste for bass.

I appreciate the clarification, I tried to find it but couldn't find the information anywhere.

@@spooner1 I'm not sure either, some people told me Klipsch owns heco, I"m not sure though, I just know this one was one of my favorite speakers :)
Your reviews are excellent!
Not as excellent as this speaker :)
I really love how you always compare speakers into detail . I hope you can review the arendal 1723s bookshelves someday.
I actually have a pair on the way :)
@@NemoPropaganda That's amazing! Cannot wait tbh, I'm on the fence of buying these.
May even get adventurous and fit a few dowels in for bracing cuz I like projects.
that's a fantastic price! congrats!!
Good review Nemo. How would you compare them to the Criton 1TDX?
I have not heard the X model yet.
@@Audfile funny - I DID choose the upgraded xover and am very happy! I was just curious how my investment stacks up to these HECOs.

GREAT REVIEW!

i have to say one of the best qualities of the aurora 300 is making every song sound great. sometimes (mostly the more expensive hifi speakers) only sound well with high quality sources. How is that with this celan ?

Am interested to know how it compares against Martin Logan. Espeically the 35xti, or the newer B10~B100.
It would be nice to hear from someone who paired the Celan Rev 3 with a tube amp. Does detail combined with warmth work?
I did, I used the Galion, it was fantastic!

In my previous “audiophile” life I delved into the high end of Mark Levinson, Revel, Sunfire, Krell, McIntosh, Dynaudio, etc…This affordable audio is going back to my roots, I love it!
the Emit range is very good and you got a great price on it. Personally I like the Celan more but this could come down to personal taste.
I only focus on 2ch stereo and don't have any experience with center channels.
Dynaudio EMIT are shortere if you're still in the market but it sounds like you're all set :)
Love your channel.do you think heco celan 3 could work well with buchardt i150? Keep up the good work
the i150 is highly customizable so I'd imagine it would work well with just about any speaker as long as it's setup well and you know how to use all it's features.
Awesome content bro! And really appreciate the comparisons. How would these compare to the critons 1tdx or aurora 700/1000?
I have not heard either of those.
@@NemoPropaganda1td? I seen you mention you may hear the 1tdx soon, could you throw this comparison in when you get the chance with a possible 1tdx review?
My thoughts are the 2tdx might be a high performer to price if the 1td or 1tdx could possibly best this model.
@@mcjonner 1TD competes no problem, it has more flavor to the sound, darker treble, more depth to the midrange, much stronger bass, but also much harder to drive so its not a low volume champion but around 80dB or more its amazing!
I have not heard the Lintons but the rest are all great speakers to the point that all 3 (s400, 1td, celan) are part of my personal collection and I listen to them often, I don't think theres a wrong choice to be made between those 3.
can you see my reply? its glitching on my end, lmk
By price point would the Heco be comparable to the Revel M106?
I have not heard the M106 but it is a lot better than the Concerta2 M16 in my book.
Great review!! Curious about placement, with that huge port on the back. Does it need a lot of back wall room?
I generally place all speakers 30" from the front baffle to the rear wall in my room, that's what sounds best. But every room is a little different so it's hard to be 100% sure. Any speaker with strong bass is usually going to need some room to sound its best.
So if i have a small room, and no back wall space, does one then stay away from rear ports speakers as a rule??@@NemoPropaganda
How do these stack up against the elac ref bookshelves?
I don't feel that Elac can compete with this.
I played them to 110db without any issues, mabe his were damaged or something.
I was wondering how these faired. Would you go with yhe Arendal 1961 or these for home theater with Yamaha A4A ? I think the best center woukd win make the decision for me. I'm going to save up for a quality set front stage. I have Klipsh RP bookshelf and center now.
I don't have a home theater or any center channels so I'm not really sure. I only do 2ch stereo.
Well articulated review! You touched on all points I was wondering about. Gotta run and get my credit card now.
glad it was helpful :)
hey nemo...just ran across your channel and your reviews on Heco.
I have not heard any Rotel amps :(
Any info on why they dont sell the White ones on the Usa!! ??
Did you test it with the Emotiva Ta2?
yes I did, my review is based on using all my amplifiers I have on hand. As far as the white I'm guessing the MOQ was per sku and maybe audioadvice didn't want to have twice as much inventory on a brand that is still very niche in the USA.
Hi Nemo,
I have been watching and enjoying your reviews since the early days.
I listen to all that music also. Celan has a little more sparkle than LS50 and warmer mids/bass. So far most people who bought it really enjoy it :)
@@NemoPropaganda Thank you for your reply Nemo. My Celan Rev 3's will be delivered next week. The LS50's are decent speakers but they always leave me craving a fuller sound. Much respect to you from Ireland.
Enjoyed the review... how would you compare these to the CSS 1TD?
1TD competes no problem, it has more flavor to the sound, darker treble, more depth to the midrange, much stronger bass, but also much harder to drive so its not a low volume champion but around 80dB or more its amazing!
@@NemoPropaganda Really appreciate that. Think the 1TDx might be my next speaker
Nice job Nemo!
Just one problem though. I watched the whole video and still aren’t sure if you like them or not.
😊
i have no poker face at all lol
Dang really want these, but seem impossible to find now :(. Thanks for the review!
yeah, I don't know what happened but around this price the Zu DWX is freaking awesome if you don't mind a bigger speaker.

Hey wait one more comparison between the martinlogan xt b100 and the HECO clean Revolution ?
I have not heard that martin logan speaker, I tried to get review samples but they don't respond to my emails.
I know Heco also makes a subwoofer to go with these speakers, but it's quite expensive. I'd love to hear your review on that sub.
it looks a little on the larger side and I'm about done reviewing larger subs.
I don't care what another reviewer says, what's your question?
Have you tested the Philharmonic BMR Monitor? @@NemoPropaganda
Have you done an Arendal review?
yup, a few of them.
how would you compare these with Arendal 1723 S bookshelf? I know the 1723 is a bit more $$
not sure, have not reviewed them yet but have a pair on the way.
Until I saw this, the best under $1500 was called "Kef ls50 meta" by other reviews.
LS50 M has been $1600 for over a year now, it's a great speaker but very small so it can't do some of the things larger speakers can do.
I have an XTZ sub on the way :)

AudioAdvice sells them, you can keep an eye on the used market of course too like USAudiomart.
Thanks.😊

Speakers. Subs. Connectors. Sources. Whatever.
I feel like we never had so many great choices before
Yay capitalism
absolutely, the affordable stuff has never been better.
Many thanks for this in-depth review and introduction to this speaker.
Yeah, the Buchardt are better …. But spend about $200-250 and upgrade the Celan’d X-over with components comparable to the Buchardt’s. That would be interesting, I think I will do it.
I think it will cost more then that to remake the a x-over like that found on the s400 mk2.
@@NemoPropaganda
I don’t think so.
@@rmzidann oh really? I always thought it was more expensive but I don't know very much about xover parts.
Interesting review of a less familiar brand. Dynaudio Evoke 10 at 1,500 Euro (which I own) is a notable step up from the Emit 10s across the board and a strong challenger to any small room speaker.
When’s the next livestream?
I'm not sure, that's more of a shoot from the hip situation for me, I've been out of town the last 4 weekends in a row though.
I live in the dust capital of the USA, so unfortunately that glossy finish is a deal breaker. Pity.
I live in Bakersfield so I can relate. I use microfiber cloth that’s used on eyeglasses and it works great.
They are available in white and wood finish also
I wish I had the money to audition all these speakers I see lol I really like metal domes or horn compression waveguides etc so not sure I’d like the sound of these
What beat these?
I don't understand the question.
Not gonna lie. Those are some handsome-lookin' squawk boxes right there.
I have the "grandpa" to these! The Celan 9! The only problem is that my wife thinks they are huge and she is right for a change😂😂😂😂 Sound great so?!?!
the biggest problem with videos like these are that you wanto to buy new stuff all the time, haha. I just got the Arendal 1723 s bookshelves. I love them, but these sound so great to.... god damn it
that's a great speaker bro, I reviewed that too and I really liked it, it's a very different sound but very awesome in it's own way! We all suffer from a little fomo for sure so I totally understand what you mean :)
La Diva...?

@@NemoPropaganda SORRY BRO ! I meant the HECO FLAGSHIP for review hopefully, looks amazing then I just could replace my PMC Twenty5 26s
The high-end flagship from Heco
LOUDSPEAKER TECHNOLOGY TAKEN TO EXTREMES
If developers can draw on the full technological potential, if material costs only play a minor role and product designers have a free hand in designing, then high end is created in its purest form. La Diva, our new top model, fulfills all of these requirements and, despite its name, is extremely sociable.
HIGH AND MIDRANGE PAR EXCELLENCE
The alpha and omega of excellent sound are carefully selected components and these are in abundance in the La Diva.
BASS HIGH SIX
The bass membranes of the Heco La Diva are of course also made of kraft paper.
A CASE LIKE OUT OF A TEXTBOOK
All of this is packaged in a housing that is second to none.
You don't want to be european then... Focal is one the few examples where it's not the other way around. Heco for example is more expensive in europe and that makes no sense at all as they are a European company.

when something about a stranger disturbs you it's generally a reflection of something inside you that is unresolved.
