Learn how to pronounce these two easily confused short vowels, /æ/ and /e/. A lot of my students don't even know they make mistakes with these two sounds, so this modern RP British pronunciation lesson will be very important for all accent enthusiasts
Remember, you don't NEED an RP British accent to speak English well (or even an English accent at all!). There are loads of accents out there! I'm just here to help people who have a love for modern versions of RP and want to speak it clearly.

Elliott, I've been speaking British RP since taking your class, and even true brits believe I'm from the UK. So if anyone ever has a desire, Elliott is an exceptional teacher. It's now the only way I speak at all times. Sending love to you and yours, and congrats on your wee babe...
That´s wonderful! Where are you from?
@@marcelguberman I was born in Georgia but have lived abroad for many years, mainly living in Florida. So it's interesting that I sound like a southern Brit... I feel as though a dream came true speaking British. Honestly, one of my dear chaps (son) was murdered, and so I wrote a storybook based on him (Beatrix Potter-like), and I wanted to do the audio for it myself. So it seemed fitting to learn British, and I never went back. Ya, know, sort of as a gift to my boy. The book I wrote is called The Tale of Sawyer Lamb. It's ever so charming...
Wow! Congrats mate!
Ya mee tooo
Well done
I think the bigger problem is /æ/ vs /ʌ/ vs /ɑ:/ and /e/ vs /ə/ vs /ɜ:/.
In many languages, it's only one vowel, not three.
Anyway, this video can help a lot of people.
In my opinion that's one of the most important differences to grasp and master in an English language (along with the "th" and "r" sound) that will make you sound way better. I've lived in the UK for 13 years and only in the last 2 years I started paying more attention to how I sound and taking phonics more seriously and that first made me realise how, perhaps stupid I sounded to the native speakers when I was pronouncing things incorrectly and second now when I know and pay attention to how I say things how easier it is to communicate. So I can't stress enough that the way you say things is really really important 💞
I follow your YT videos and pratice alone for about one and a half year. This week I've got my very first opportinity for a conversation with a fluent English speaker and I got amazed to hear that my intonation and vocabulary are quite good. Thank you Elliot for your dedication sharing knowledge with people around the world! You're great, mate! Cheers!
When I started to learn English (didn't know there was only American English) I thought "an" and "en" sounded the same. Thanks to you I finally known the differences. Nowadays I use British English
