I love Shipwreck beads! You can get on their list to get notifications by email of all their sales. That yellowish green you showed in the beginning is my favorite color! I made some of those flowers in that shade.
I Love Shipwreck Beads! I went to their store in Olympia, Washington. Talk about bead heaven! Over 10,000 square feet of beads, beads and more beads. Easy to get carried away. Great store. Highly recommend it. Thanks for sharing your haul, Aleshia!
Thank you so much for this video. I've just started making beaded jewelry and am getting my bead collection going. I'm about to make my first order at Shipwreckbeads, thanks to your video (I had no idea what a "hank" of beads was). The super close-up views really help in showing not only color, but uniformity also, especially with the vintage beads. Thanks again!
I love your bead hauls, so informative. I have made just about all your ring and bracelet designs and they all turn out beautiful, thank you, keep them coming.
OMG!!!!! Thank you for posting this video. Now I know where to get the most beads for a great price. Can't believe I didn't know this before. Plus the container storage video was awesome as well. Thank you again
Hi, Aleshia, I am very happy with this Haul videos, I went to the store and buy some of this beads. I trust your jugdement on this beads so I hope when I receive them I will like them as much as you did. I bought some of the ones you did, so when you make your proyects I will have the materials. Thank you so much for looking always for this great deals and sharing it with all of us. Can't wait for your next tutorials. Again thank you so much.
Thank you for sharing Aleshia - seed beads can be so expensive to buy good quality beads - It is so nice to know where you can get them w/o having to whack off an arm or a leg! LOL - well you know what I mean! It also always good to know where you can get them online w/o paying more for shipping than for the beads! Happy Beading!
Wonderful bead haul with some amazing deals. Never heard of this place before your video. Thank you for taking the time to share, love all your hauls. Being new to beading there is alot of things that I need, and those seed beads deals you found is amazing! I went there just to order those, and ended up buying those and everything else lol. I just love finding new places to shop, I have gathered up quite a stockpile from a lot of different sites, hopefully soon I will get to do some bead haul vids to help others also. =)
They also offer free shipping if you are a newsletter subscriber!! Love that store- I was iffy about the vintage seed beads because I really wasn't sure about the quality but now I see it really is worth the money. Thanks for this video.
I love that website (AC)...I ordered around 900 rondelle beads, 100 Swarovski crystals, and 30g's of seed beads for $35!!! AMAZINGGGG COLOR SELECTION ALL AROUND...
I've ordered from both places and they are great. Aura does have fast shipping! I just received an order and it also only took 2 days. The only thing about Shipwreck is be careful with their descriptions. I ordered what their site says was Superduo beads and it was Twin beads. If I had known they were Twin beads I wouldn't have ordered them. The finish/color is "painted" on. Every bracelet and earring I've made with them has lost their finish over time. SO glad I didn't sell any of the pieces before I tested out the durability of the finish/color. Also with Miyuki versus Toho, you will find that Miyuki are a far better delica bead than the Toho. That's why they are more expensive. If doing bead weaving type pieces the Miyuki will be far better because the size is so consistent. I have done several projects and it will turn out looking different with the Miyuki versus the Toho.
I love watching your bead hauls, only thing is you get me in trouble going to Shipwreck beads. : ) Just placed a $40.00 order so that wasn't too bad for the amount I got. I really like the prices on the Vintage Venetian seed beads, even regular price is still great compared to what I have been buying. I love your videos! I've made 2 items from watching them. Thank you Aleshia!!
Thanks Aleshia! I have always been curious about those vintage seed beads from Shipwrecked. Thank you so much for the closeup shot. I was worried they would not be uniform enough for bead weaving projects. Next time they go on sale I'll have to buy some.
In case you didn't already know the Venetian mauve opal matches genuine amythest perfectly!!! You can get some good amethyst beads from fire mountain gems....I LOVE the mauve opaline!!!
omg! Thank you soooooo much for this video. you have cleared up a huge concern i had when shopping online. i love the way you compared all the beads which by the way was very helpful info.. i have been looking at Aura Crystals but never purchased anything im so glad you chose that site now i feel better about purchasing my first order with them... oh and ship wreck is next on my agenda. Thanks so much Aleisha i love your videos keep them coming!!!
Hi Aleshia, you really are the Queen to found awesome deals & i love your Haul videos always very helpful, know you have a huge selection of seed beads so thank you for sharing these Fantastic info!
TR usually stands for Transparent Rainbow.. Love your Hall I bought a bunch of the Venetian and French beads. I love them for stringing and bead embroidery...
Great haul. I order from Shipwreck all the time (they run sales often) and so I order a lot of Czech Firepolish and bicones along with quite a few of their Swarovski rivoli's and rounds.
thanks for share all this information to us. it is very helpful for me to understand the branches seed beads and what was the difference. thanks so much I love all ur videos .
I think this was around the time when Toho Treasures first came out, so they were much less expensive. They are as much as Delicas now. And now we have the Aoki beads, which are OUTRAGEOUS!
Also, yellow and orange can work and be very attractive if you do a monochromatic design using different shades from light to dark orange, or light to dark yellow.
Nice haul! I did not know about Toho treasures, thanks for the info. None of the bead stores here in RI have Delicas or Miyukis, just a meager selection of Toho (no treasures)and Czech. Yes, Aura Crystals is great, so is Charleen's beads if you want to buy 28gram Pkgs of Miyuki bronze beads in the 457D, D is for dark, hard to get beads in 15 and 11 and 8 that seem very popular, and I like them. The metallic beads are priced well.
I realized I was on a different site similar name of Aurora Crystals; I apologize for the mis information. You are right great deals and I plan using the site to order some things. Again you are a great beader and give us detailed information on how to complete an item.
i love ship wreck beads, i live 40 miles from their store. so when i go to the big city i visit the store just to see all the shiny things. is there a video for the ring you are wearing.
Love your videos and appreciate the info on saving money buying beads. I did go to the aurora Crystal website, their minimum order is $100.00, so I am not so sure about ordering that much as I already have a good supply and just need a few beads that will not add up to $100.00 and to reorder it states the minimum is $60.00, again I do not need that much so I just wanted let other know that there is a standard amount you have to order.
Aleshia- You figured out what TR means and you didn't even realize it! It is TRansparent as opposed to opaque. I realized this as you were describing the amethyst beads! :) Beautiful by the way! I love it when you share your bead hauls - it is so much fun to see what is out there and check out the different sites. We have a really cool bead store here in town and the girls that work there are super BUT they are definitely way more expensive, and the selection is limited. I can hardly wait to see what you come up with using all these beautiful new beads!
Dawn Brosnan G'Day Dawn, I would have to agree with you as here in OZ(Australia) I have the same problem. I have never found Toho Treasures on my list of Aussie buyers and also this is the first time I am hearing about them. I also find that I have a limited choice of colours. The shipping cost and money exchange rates can also be difficult on my small budget. I t would indeed be great if we also had these magnificent bead stores Down Under. Thanks Aleshia also.
Hi, love your videos. They are so clear & informative. I think the TR on the tags means Transparent. Also, I've heard that "Cheyenne pink" is VERY sought after in authentic Native American beadwork, so you lucked out. Do the Vintage French 10 & the Vintage Venetian 10 match in size? Or is it like the diff. between 10 Czechs & 10 Japanese (not delica)? I prefer bead looming & hate it when I find out that my supposedly same size beads don't match up because they are from different makers. It makes the project too "wavy" to be any good & I waste the thread I used to warp the loom too... Just recently Shipwreck reduced their min. order to $15 from $25, don't know if it was a 1 time thing or not. Enjoy & I'll be on the lookout to see those green ones you said you love used in a new project video soon I hope.
Toho beads are a name brand, they are just different than Myuki. Please be aware that the beads are different sizes although very close. There are 3 types of cylinder beads, Myuki Delicas, Toho Treasures and Aiko (also made by the Toho company). Aiko are the most expensive, most precise and the hardest to find. In order of quality it would be Aiko in the number one spot and then Myuki and Toho Treasures.
are the seed beads, the venetian and French from shipwreck or aurora? im going to check both out. thank you so much for sharing your bead hauls. I have always wondered where you purchase your beads and am so happy you are sharing that info. ive tried the walmart beads and the quality there are not very good. they are not very uniform. thanks Alisha. oh, just thought I would let you know that I have used the toho treasure beads. they are not the same exact size as the regular toho beads. for example the 11/0 are both 11/0 but they are not the same size. if that makes sense. treasures are a little bit smaller I believe. its been awhile since I used them. so just make sure you use only treasures together. at least that has been my experience.
Aleshia, please make a test swatch of both Myuiki Delicas and Toho Treasures to compare the sizes. I have found them not the same size although they LOOK the same size. It sometimes causes problems with sizing when you switch from one brand to another. The quality of the beads is the same.
This information is invaluable to people like me who are inexperienced at shopping for beads online. You should be sponsored or at least be an affiliate for these videos - maybe have a sponsored giveaway or be given a discount code for your viewers. There is just nothing like these types of videos for showing quality and quantity of online bead sources and you do them very well.
whats so awesome about these beads is the historical value,i pasted and copied from the site the history and i love the fact that this is so old from the factory in italy!!!
They're size 10 or 12 and most are sold as sewing needles, but stocked in jewelry stores and jewelry sections of stores. Although done are made as beading needles, either will work. Just make sure the end where the thread goes isn't wider than the rest of the needle, and you get size 10 or 12. I prefer size 10 in the brand pony, which are marketed as sewing needles. You can get 20 for like $2!
Thank you for the information about Toho seed bead Treasures I've been wanting to work with delicas for a long time but could not afford them. Thank you again
If at all possible, save up! Trust me, they're worth it....though the Toho's are pretty good, too. It really all depends on the type of beading you're doing/want to do.
Okay, just finding this now, but figured I'd clear some things up...in case they haven't been yet. With 99 comments, unfortunately I don't have time to read every single one of them. :( Anyway, here goes.... 1. Your French beads, the Opal Pink 11/0 and Opal Mauve 10/0 AREN'T actually the same as the 8/0. You must have missed the color description. The 8/0 was marked Opal DK Pink. The DK means "dark". Do you got "regular" Opal Pink 11/0's but DARK Opal Pink 8/0's. 2. On the Czech beads, TR = Transparent. Why the orange weren't marked appropriately, I have no idea as those were obviously a TR AB Orange. 3. Delica's are pricey, but you pay for the consistency. Czech are my least favorite to work with because I do a lot of precision beading. When doing brick stitch, especially, but also in peyote, the Delica's will be MUCH more uniform, thus making your piece lay better when completed. 4. The difference between Toho and Delica = the shape of the bead. Toho - like most other seed beads - are round. Though they are also very consistent in shape. Delicas are a cylindrical-shaped seed bead. One of the few on the market. The problem is that every other cylindrical shaped seed beads available have consistency problems. In the same package, you may get some that are 1/4mm wide and others that are up to 2mm wide! This is why most beaders stick to one type or the other - Toho's or Delica's - because they know they're pretty much guaranteed to all be the same, exact, shape. Though any type of bead is good for basic stringing techniques, when it come to certain stitches, these are the two most popular brands simply because they have better "drape" in the finished piece. I hope this helps some fellow beaders...
+Mermaid Jaffa I think I know what your talking about I just never heard of calling them that. I actually just got something like that they are 35/0 czech seed beads. They are huge I got them from shipwreck beads they are striped I am planning on doing a necklace with them.
Nice! Looking forward to another of your tutorials. The website I was on, is an Australian online beadshop, and they called them, King Beads. King being the biggest of them all.
That's exactly what the monofilament "thread" is that many beaders use (commonly sold under the name brand of "Fire Line" among others). The difference between Fire Line and fishing line? The price. Seriously, that's the ONLY difference. If it's "made for beaders", they charge 2 to 3 times more. Same with many of the craft storage boxes/bead storage boxes. The difference in those - besides the price - is the colors. Plain old tackle boxes or tool boxes are often black and grey, black and orange or black and yellow....the ones made for beaders are pinks and purple or other bright "girly" colors. Anyway...fishing line is fine to use, just be sure you're getting the right test to bead with. All monofilament thread is marked as 4 pound test, 6 pound test, etc. For seed beading, be sure to get the 4 or 6 pound. Anything heavier (10 pound test or the like) means a thicker "thread" which will be hard to get through smaller beads...anything less than a 4 pound means the thread can snap pretty easily (such as with a 2 pound test strength). Fire Line is around $8 per spool of 50 yards (150 feet)....I found fishing line, 4 pound test strength, that was only $4 for over 1,100 feet (a little over 366 yards)! Half the price for a little over 7 times as much? When beading, it never hurts to hit the local sporting goods store!! :) (NOTE: Certain fishing lures also make great, easy, earrings, too...as well as small, colorful bobbins, and more...don't be afraid to spend some time in the fishing section at your local sporting goods or "outdoorsmen"-type shop if you're looking to do more than just seed beading.)
Aura Crystals is my all time favorite bead store. I love going local but Aura is fantastic - amazing quality and SUPER fast shipping. LOVE THEM
Been ordering from Aura Crystals for over a year now. Love they're variety and how quick they ship.

Venetian glass beads were for royalty only at one time. You scored. big. French came a little later but both were HAND cut. Cool. VERY.
Also, yellow and orange can work and be very attractive if you do a monochromatic design using different shades from light to dark orange, or light to dark yellow.
I love your videos. Tell us what you do with all your creations? Is it possible to make a living selling homemade jewelry ?

you always have excellent storage ideas. :)
You should do a video of you putting your seed beads into the bucket at the beginning
whats so awesome about these beads is the historical value,i pasted and copied from the site the history and i love the fact that this is so old from the factory in italy!!!
Do you sell your jewelry? I just checked out your FB page, and your jewelry is beautiful!!!
Shipwreck beads is amazing, but the actual store is kind of overwhelming at first.
thank u for that information I love all your beads have fun
Now I am going to look for Vintage Venetian seed beads here in Italy. :-)
Actually they range in price from $16 - $36.00 for 250 grams of the Tohos
love all your videos :) Question is your beading needles ....beading or sewing needles? All I can find is Flexible beadjng needles at Michaels
+EL3FUNT. Thank you
the TR might mean transparent, love this video, thanks for the info about the seed beads~!
I think TR at Shipwreck means transparent.
Wow I need beads like that , sales please come my way 🤣🤣🤣, maybe the TR means transparent 🤷♀️
Hi, I just search beads on Aura Crystals site, and I was looking for 100 or more grams for low price. So far I see 15 grams for $6.06.

What bout fall colors

Have you tried using 3/0 king beads?
I haven't. Are they seed beads?
Yes. King size seed beads.
From what I've seen at the shop, its similar in size to those plastic pony beads.

Nice! Looking forward to another of your tutorials. The website I was on, is an Australian online beadshop, and they called them, King Beads. King being the biggest of them all.

Can u use fish in line for string
