" I will probably fail, but it keeps my mind busy".... That is exactly the right approach. The most learnings you always get when failing! Keep going!
so jealous. I only have " three " electric cars and I had to pay for them. Keep up the great work, it makes the rest of us look sane.
yes, the finnish guy Dalla or so has done all the developement for battery swaps in this Nissan Leaf.
A free Nissan Leaf is the most loved conversion donor.
Same stack I have in the Fiero. Only thing needed is the battery pack, so I'm very much looking forward to this build.
I’m currently fitting a full stack into an e36,
The stacks are TALL, I’ve had to lower the subframe 20mm and notch the bonnet
I also had to shift the gearbox forward 2” to get the pdm to clear the bulkhead
I’ve seen guys remote mount the pdm but I wanted the fully sealed complete stack 😄
9:54 Yooooo!... Awesome to hear that Junkyard Digs and Dylan McCool shoutout, been watching them almost as long as I've been watching you, I've always kind of fantasized about them teaming up with a EV conversion shop or channel and making something cool! :P
Agree that nissan leaf batteries are not a good choice. Pretty much for anything IMO. Those cells really do age like milk. I get the appeal for how easy they are to work with/assemble, but man they are impressively bad degradation wise.
Let the party begin!
This is getting really exciting. Hopefully selling the parts from the donor car will be enough to get a good battery pack.
I recently stumbled upon li-ion battery from hybrid ford kuga. 14.4kWh and for some reason it costs less than those from BMW. I wonder if someone already got them and looked inside.
Zero cost? This sounds like something I can afford!
0:24 The sun's out? In the isles? You should've gone to the pub man, that's cause for celebration. :))
Jokes aside, great episode! And IMHO, learning through failing is the only way to make proper progress. You should be worried if everything goes "too right", because that's when the really bad gremlins come out to play.
so are you a Leaves owner or a Leafs owner ?
The panzer seats have no lumber support. The Leo seat is quite different and not so comfortable as you think.
and btw: BMW was no panzer manufacturer but fighter / plane supplier.
Mercedes has build tanks and parts for it so that is the genuine Panzer manufacturer and supplier, also fighter and bomber engines
great progress and outlook but you have missed at least 1 point to mention:
Your priorities among all the other projects: Panzer first or not ?
Dear Sir,
May i have a chance to work in your workshop?
I decided that it's easier to just replace the battery on a leaf than to make a custom EV conversion.I managed to buy a low mile leaf that is in good shape, but has only has 6 bars left. It sill gets to town and back every day so I'll drive it till it dies. PS checkout Kitten Academy if you want to watch a less boring you tube channel. ;)
can't you sell the proget cars wen finiched???

First!
This is beginning to get out of control, I’m definitely going to unsubscribe for sure now 😆
