Thomas Sowell talks a good game & does state facts but has an agenda and cherry picks which facts he uses. So while you can learn something from him beware and don't let him lead you astray. Accents and word usage comes from surroundings but it can be tempered by how much TV and Movies you watch.
@@caseybrown4360 He does indeed have his own perspective and agenda. Mainly, his agenda is to point out many of the ways we've been misled, and even deliberately lied to, by so many of our "cherished" institutions. He's actually trying to counter the rampant cherry picking that has always been happening by politicians, historians, economists, etc. by proving how a more honest and in-depth look at their own claims will so often lead to completely different conclusions than the ones they originally profess.
@poloreacts27: The fact that you _didn't_ have more formal education actually is a blessing in disguise. I have a college degree which only meant I had four more years of programming that I eventually had to untangle.

He's 100% right. Its not racial, its cultural and spreads across racial lines. I grew up in the South, and had more in common with country black folks than I did urban whites.
I've tried to explain that to "racially tense" Americans for so many years now. I'm a white Dane and I've tried to explain, that they as a white American (for example) have a ton more in common with a black American than with a white Dane. There's national culture, state culture, regional culture, city/town culture and even sometimes neighbourhood culture. Even just growing up in the same national culture, many Americans have a lot in common that they don't even think of as being commonalities, because many (if not most) people born in U.S.A. have never been outside of it, so they tend to assume that those commonalities are among humans all-together as opposed to themselves and their fellow Americans. It's no wonder, considering so many have grown up being told by school, media, politicians and maybe even family, that they couldn't possibly understand each other... after all, you there is "white" and you over there is "black". You're just too different. Don't even bother talking with each other to find out how much you agree on. It's depressing to see, when looking in from the outside in a culture that's sharply different from both overall American culture and the black American subculture and seeing those "hidden" agreements and commonalities from a mind with no real horse in the race (no pun intended).

The cool thing about Sowell is he doesn't necessarily claim to be a historian, he's an economist. But, he takes his studies so seriously, that he studied history to see how economies worked through history and to see what caused this and what caused that. Because he did it this way, it left his mind open with zero bias, only the desire to figure out progression.
He has staff at the Hoover Institution which conduct research according to his guidelines. They in turn have all the faculty of Stanford University for any clarifications needed in the course of that research. His research is among the most thorough of anyone in the US, past or present, regardless of the field.
I’m a Caucasian great grandmother in California. I am your newest subscriber. I’m doing my best to support Black Americans who are conservative in their values. I’m especially grateful when you show Sowell.
Sowell has a way of making things make sense. I have had gut feelings about things for a long time. When I started listening to and reading his work that gut feeling became clarity of the mind. You become better able to articulate that feeling to people. I watch every single reaction channel I find that has started down the Thomas Sowell path. It is a great joy to see scales fall from people's eyes and truly begin to see.
What shocks me the most is how quick teens and young adults seem to jump to violence especially in mobs. Though it could just be that everyone has a camera now so it just seems more rampant.
Thomas Sowell is a brilliant man and a national treasure to be sure. His knowledge on socio economic arena and social anthropology is a benefit to us all - black, white, yellow, red, brown, you name it.
Once again Polo, your words ring true. You're on a great path of discovering the truth about history and music. Listen, read, watch and then verify for yourself. Good luck to you.
Thomas Sowell is a very knowledgeable and wise man. I very much admire him. And have tremendous respect for him. Thank you so much for sharing this video.❤
I love listening to Thomas Sowell speak about everything. He's a no nonsense man of great moral character which is why I've always been flabbergasted that he's a life long liberal that's hated by the leftists in America today!
Thomas is a genius because he is not bought by any belief system.. he is a genius for every culture.. and he eradicates victim consciousness which is what holds everyone back who believes themselves a victim. It is so pervasive and insidious that people don't see it. I pray for the higher awareness and consciousness that I feel and experience as Jesus Christ to persevere in the the hearts of all. Thank you for your reaction..
I've been following Thomas Sowell for decades. I used to love reading his column in the newspapers. He always had a sane sensible take. I was very sad when he decided to retire his column, but I'm glad he's still writing and editing his books and collecting data. I've read a few of his books and they're very good, and easily digestible. I also enjoy his fellow Hoover Institute scholar Victor Davis Hanson, a friend and colleague of Sowell's who columns often appear on Real Clear Politics site, where I used to see Dr. Sowell's column. Thomas Sowell is a GLOBAL treasure, a sage for our times. I wish him long life and good health, we need him.
Tom Sowell wow one of the smartest people. If he says something he can show the data every time and he is human worth the time to listen to on so many topics
You may not have any formal qualifications but you've got passion and charisma and clearly you're wanting to better yourself. Keep up the great work and yes I'm invested in Thomas Sowell and look forward to seeing more of his content on here.
Love your wise take on these subjects Polo. I'm sure if you have kids, with your guidance and values, they'll grow up to be great people like their father. Great video 👍
don't ever let them make you think that just because you haven't met a certain standard of education that you aren't capable of learning just as much as even the most educated person through your own research.
Thomas Sowell is one of the most genius minds in America and he speaks to everyone of every color every culture every AMERICAN! I have read all his books and this man I believe should be studied in every school by every child he should be taught because if his intellect was being taught in our schools today, we wouldn’t be having the issues were having
Thomas Sowell never heard a gunshot because the powers that be didn’t allow guns and drugs to run rampant in our communities as is evident today. There is a hell of a lot of profits being made outside of the black community!
It doesn't even have to be money that can corrupt these "community leaders". Those roles come with power, and just the nature of power corrupts people.
I also dropped out of high school back in the day. I worked fast food for many years. I've worked alongside SEVERAL people that have degrees and couldn't find any other job but fast food. Now they are in ridiculous debt with no real way of paying it off as their job just covers current living and not past bills. Especially of that size. People are much better off going to a trade school. They will even help you get a job afterwards, and you will make really good money. Especially now because so few people go that route anymore.
Great video Polo, you're a very thoughtful man. I feel deep inside all of us know the truth when we hear or see it. Overcoming the external influences is always the challenge. Keep up the good work.
I know this video is about black culture, but a lot of this rings true in Hispanic culture. At least where I grew up. Intellectual growth was not encouraged. If you were smart, and gravitated toward academics, you were ridiculed.
So glad you are discovering Sowell. He is an original thinker and culture expert of the world. Listen to more of his truth telling in other interviews and videos and remember; "The Truth will set you free."

I left another comment and I hope my mexican people can listen to me and I Will love to play your video to them. I feel the same way back in the day. I was like what's up. But I knew they were right because my christian parents turn that devil music off. I'm glad that you have extended your knowledge. Because just like me, it was hard to admit. I was wrong in certain things is.
I'm in my late-50s. I had the dishonor of being the first generation of black children who grew up absent of the father. The results were INSTANT disaster. 😪
Absolutely correct. It is what is taught to us in our formative years that defines us. Not the color of the skin we wear. I love Sowell. What an articulate thought inspiring speaker.
I saw a video of a black guy saying he was the first person in his family to get admitted into college and his family didn’t care but the family through a party for his cousin that got paroled from prison. Something is not right.
The one huge truth almost everybody misses is, its ALWAYS YOU. you cannot be oppressed if you refuse to submit to oppression. You are ultimately the one who decides how things in your environment affect you. You can choose to learn or remain ignorant. You can choose to submit to other peoples opinion of you or you can ignore them and move on. The trick is to be someone YOU are happy with, because YOU are the only person you absolutely have to live with. You are who you act like. All of your internal monologue is just YOU either deciding what your going to be or YOU making excuses why you aren't who you want to be.
Thomas Sowell -- Love listening to his lectures, a Gentleman and a scholar. He sees people as people and not as just color. I grew up in Alaska and it was nice, but we had none of this other culture. There is beauty and so many things we can draw from by embracing the humanity and the culture of all the races.
I used to watch your channel all the time and fell off cause of work. Warms my heart to come back after 8 months and see you reacting to Thomas Sowell.

Really appreciate you sharing your perspective and personal experience my friend. We need so much more of this. Put aside all the anger, frustration, bewilderment I feel with the rollercoaster our country/society is on... underlying it all is just deep sadness. I think videos like this can do so much more than we realize.
As an undergraduate back in the eighties, I was fortunate enough to attend several of Thomas Sowell’s lectures. His analysis, opinions, and even his occasional mistakes have been a positive influence on my life for almost forty years now. I’m so glad you’re finding him and I hope you’ll dive deeper and perhaps bring some of your audience with you.
Thomas Sowell is one of the most intelligent men in this country on human sociological studies. He is also a huge historian about American History with an emphasis on black culture and history.
I remember how hard some Black leaders were trying to legitimize Ebonics in the 80s, as a white person it was impossible to discuss opposition to that because you would be labeled a racist. I knew it would hold kids back if they spoke incorrectly just as it holds back anyone else. Strangely well meaning white people who are trying to be allies take their cues from black people ,so it’s a circle and those who want to keep the working class down laugh themselves sick. We all need to elevate Scientists, Writers, brilliant musicians and anyone who elevates humanity
I have listened to Thomas Sowell for years. Charles Payne, a financial genius and his brother were raised by a single mother in The Ghetto area of, I believe, NYC. His mother worked two jobs and never accepted welfare. She pushed them to get an education instead of joining a gang, which they were pressured to do. Today he is a well respected financial adviser and author and his brother is an attorney. You don’t see him promoted as an example of success. I agree that these “leaders” NEED to keep black people down or they lose THEIR source of income.
My dad came to this country from Nazi Germany in the 30’s. He couldn’t WAIT to run up to Harlem to see his lifelong heroes- Duke Ellington and Count Basie at The Savoy. POLO- you have a brilliant head on your shoulders in addition to common sense and a moral center. I’m a fan ❤
All rappers, the good rappers, respond to criticism by saying that what they say in their songs is what they live day to day, that they sing about what they see in the neighborhood. When criticized for singing about such negative themes, that is their response. And they are right in what they say. The problem is not seeing rap as an expression of the problems of the black subculture in the USA, but rather seeing those problems as the only characteristics of it. Rap is not the problem; the problem is viewing it as the expression of the entirety of the black subculture and not as the expression of its problems.
It's actually been amazing to see. I educated myself on these things years ago, but now people are earning money to be educated for a reaction channel. This has been a huge help for waking people up, and showing them reality. Many reaction channels from all different kinds of communities. It's important for everyone to be informed and to make their own decisions as an individual. Not as a member of a group, or class.
I enjoy your self-reflective nature and logical approach to self-education. It is how I have learned more truth about the real world than I did in school. Good on you, Polo.👊
I still like the Black accent of English though.. It sounds nice.. I also like the old White American accent of English. It sounds really crisp and clear.

Thomas Sowell is one of the wisest men alive today, and an inspiration to us all.
What the hell are "conservative values?" Explain.
Thank you for being a voice of sanity and common sense.
Mr. Thomas Sowell is definitely an American treasure. Peace Polo!
I appreciate what Mr. Sowell is saying but I can tell you right now there is a race conversation to be had! Racism is alive and well in rural America.
Mister Sowel is so smart and a truth teller
I've been following Sowell since the mid 90s.... Peace!
I highly recommend Thomas Sowell’s books. They are very well researched and very readable.
Once again Polo, your words ring true. You're on a great path of discovering the truth about history and music. Listen, read, watch and then verify for yourself. Good luck to you.
Dr. Sowell is one of the greatest minds our nation has ever produced. The man truly is one of the last great American Sages.
Thomas Sowell is a very knowledgeable and wise man. I very much admire him. And have tremendous respect for him. Thank you so much for sharing this video.❤
Thomas Sowell is such an inspirational thinker. Enjoy the journey
I love listening to Thomas Sowell speak about everything. He's a no nonsense man of great moral character which is why I've always been flabbergasted that he's a life long liberal that's hated by the leftists in America today!
Educating yourself with facts, not wishful thinking, is a good satart.
This man is a National treasure.
I love you, Polo. You're a gentle and intelligent soul making a difference.
True genius. Please do more, especially when the man speaks in his own words. Modern prophet
For sure enjoyed listening to Mr. Sowell.
Love you brother. My dad left when I was young. I’m so happy to see someone who understands what’s going on. I appreciate you.
Dr. Sowell is a brilliant man, with degrees from some of the finest institutions in the United States.
When Mr. Sowell speaks, jaws drop! 🇺🇲💯
Exactly! & when he speaks everyone should listen 😊
Ive known of Thomas Sowell for some time now. He's a heck of a good man. Its a shame that so many young folks (Im 53) will never hear of him.
If only he would show up on the joe Rogan podcast. That would give so many people exposure to him for the first time.
Thomas Sowell is one of the wisest living people, a national treasure.
Thomas Sowell is an American treasure.
I've read his books. He is a TREASURE. Take heed to his words!
Elon Musk once said, "I never needed university. I hired the people who did go"
Thomas Sowell is one of the most genius minds in America and he speaks to everyone of every color every culture every AMERICAN! I have read all his books and this man I believe should be studied in every school by every child he should be taught because if his intellect was being taught in our schools today, we wouldn’t be having the issues were having
Thomas Sowell and the late Walter Williams are American treasures. And let's not forget Booker T. Washington.
Prof. Sowell is 100% correct.
What he says about Harlem and other places in the 20’s and 30’s is also because of Bible teachings and morality was prevalent in the society.
Exactly the obedience to Christ has went out the window because ppl think they are a god
Thomas Sowell never heard a gunshot because the powers that be didn’t allow guns and drugs to run rampant in our communities as is evident today. There is a hell of a lot of profits being made outside of the black community!
This is a rabbit hole I’m excited to see you jump into.
It doesn't even have to be money that can corrupt these "community leaders". Those roles come with power, and just the nature of power corrupts people.
Thomas is a great, great man. There'll be a lot of tears when he finally leaves us.
Sir, you are wise beyond your years. God bless you
Great video Polo, you're a very thoughtful man.
6:18 Minute mark made me subscribe. Hit a thumbs and I left the comment before this but I am a true subscriber.
I have loved this brilliant man for decades! So tragic that too many people are just starting to discover this amazing man.
You are 100% on target with everything you say.
Mr Sowell is such a brilliant man and speaker His books and speeches should be shared in classrooms across the country. Thanks for sharing this.
Anything by Thomas Sowell is well worth the time to listen. I've heard these things from Sowell before and it's refreshing and worthwhile each time.
I'm always impressed with Thomas Sowell. I'm English so I only found him fairly recently. I'm impressed with you too.
Warms my heart to come back after 8 months and see you reacting to Thomas Sowell.
my uncle is canadian, but from st lucia. his entire career was in the canadian military, was a captain in the armour. very dark skin. very articulate in english. gets along just fine back in st lucia. speaking languages properly is an important skill.
Really appreciate you sharing your perspective and personal experience my friend. We need so much more of this. Put aside all the anger, frustration, bewilderment I feel with the rollercoaster our country/society is on... underlying it all is just deep sadness. I think videos like this can do so much more than we realize.
Thank you for posting Thomas Sowell!
Good react from one of the greatest minds in America! If only we could get the people in D.C. to actually listen to him!
Must have been nice to see him speak back then.
Thomas Sowell is one of the most intelligent men in this country on human sociological studies. He is also a huge historian about American History with an emphasis on black culture and history.
Thomas is a national treasure Polo!
Rap is not the problem; the problem is viewing it as the expression of the entirety of the black subculture and not as the expression of its problems.
omg, this was very interesting and educational. I like your channel~ I am learning a lot here. Thank you for using your platform to education us all.
Outstanding man
“Equip yourself with skills that someone is willing to pay you for”
I am south Asian descent. I listen to him for clarity and general guidance.
Have been enjoying MANY of Your "Posts", can't believe I haven"t subscribed before. HOWEVER Here I AM...LOVING this post, TKU!
I enjoy your self-reflective nature and logical approach to self-education. It is how I have learned more truth about the real world than I did in school. Good on you, Polo.👊
much respect
Love Thomas Sowell
Tons of respect, Polo! Always liked your vids but this reveals you're way ahead of the curve.
I still like the Black accent of English though.. It sounds nice.. I also like the old White American accent of English. It sounds really crisp and clear.
My brother, thanks for sharing these videos of Thomas Sowell. A very brilliant man that I have a tremendous amount of respect for. I’ve learned a lot from him. I also enjoy and appreciate your comments. Take care!
I love Thomas Sowell, what a national treasure.
