Scott, I bought a Kimber 1911 style in .45 ACP about 10 years ago and it was a POS outta the box. Didn’t matter what ammo I fed it, it jammed, stovepiped and wouldn’t cycle. Took it back to the retail outlet I bought it from and their armorer took it to the range and experienced the same issues I was having. Sent it back to Yonkers and got it back a few weeks later with a laundry list of substandard parts that had to be replaced, such as slide springs, hammer spring, firing pin..... Since it came back from Noo Yawk, it’s been flawless. How the hell did that get by quality control to begin with.....
Sounds just like the story of my Kimber 10mm Custom TLE II. Apparently they don't feel the need to finish them before shipping. Mine needed no parts, but the list of machining/reaming/polishing performed on the barrel sounded like someone grabbed an unfinished one just to get another unit out the door.
Exact same experience with my Kimber 10mm Raptor II. Stove piped every round no matter the ammo or magazine. Sent it back to them to have it worked on and now it actually cycles.
You would think for the price Kimber wants for their 1911's they would be better quality. My Rock Island 1911 10mm would fire about 30 rounds before starting to misfeed. After putting a few hundred rounds though it the thing runs great, and it is half the cost of a Kimber.
Because they sell a name and suckers buy it. Every time one of us sold a Kimber at the gun shop, we had a bottle of Jameson in the back. The tradition was that after work, you had to leave your gun take a shot and get a ride home. Because you had just sold an overpriced piece of garbage that was going to make the boss deal with a dissatisfied customer at least four more times and even though the mark-up was higher than any other gun and made the shop a larger profit, it wasn't worth the headache. I never sold one. If someone came in interested in one and I couldn't steer them away, I would claim that I didn't know much about them and hand them off to another salesman with less integrity who wanted the commission.
@@mattperry5821 and how much did you spend in ammo? Because my Glock 40 MOS runs like a cat with it's tail on fire since the day it came out of the box for $560 on a Blue Label purchase.
I LOVE THE 10MM! From my experience, Scott, It's not a 1911 thing, it's a Kimber thing. I have not had a good experience with them, and neither have most people I know. Bummer because the one you bought is SEXY! I have a Glock 20 Gen 4, an M&P 2.0 with 4" barrel, and 2 Rock Island Armory 1911s. My 1911s have only ever had an issue with some of my reloads but have been 100% reliable with factory ammo.
Yeah. It's a Kimber thing. I bought a Rock Island Armoury 1911 in 10mm in December and it's cycled 200 rounds 100%. So far that's as much as I've shot it.
1911’s need to be tuned right. It’s mostly an extraction issue. But that being said a mid level 1911 and 2hrs with a stone and some slight adjustments and you will have a very smooth and sexy gun. You don’t actually need to spend Kimber money to get a good 1911.
Man is buying his weekly fruits in the store. He usually only buys one pineapple but there is today three for the price of two at $2.25 per pineapple. He doesn't usually buy oranges but he also spots buy one get one free on a 40 pound carton for $25. How much fruit has he just wasted?
"You just got jammed" LOL!!! It kills me every single time! Love it, Scott! It never gets old! Love your videos, man! Keep 'em coming! (And please never never never stop using the "you just got jammed" thing).
I wish John Moses Browning could see this high speed footage. He would shed a tear of pride seeing this equipment in action, also he would send a "strongly worded letter " to kimber for letting loose that thing at the end of the line.
I doubt it. Back in the day, they were made cheap and loose. That made them reliable. Now they're tight off the assembly line, and you have to break them in. They're also more works of art than tools, and he would probably be repulsed by even a Wilson.
The problem you had with the 1911 is the same problem I have with my Rock Island Armory 10mm 1911. I absolutely LOVE this pistol but the feed ramp into the barrel needs to be practically polished to prevent jamming. Ironically, the problem doesn't exist when using hollow points. Once you've scrubbed that feed ramp, you won't have that jamming issue any more.
I have one as well it's the ria 2011 double stack MS 22 tcm and 9mm I love it! It's exactly what it should be for the price! and a 1911 that holds 17 rounds is a win for me!
@@ronswanson398 that's the problem, they used to make very good 1911's, the word spread that kimber was a good go to brand, then they started producing crap and that crap seems to have been reflected more on 1911's in general than kimber itself......1911's are my favorite pistol and have a bunch of different brands, even some kimbers, maybe i've been lucky, i don't know, but i haven't had any problems with any of them that a few hundred rounds hasn't sorted out....i do admit some of the newer ones need to be broken in before and correct me if i'm wrong but i believe it to be that the manufacturing tolerances have gotten so much tighter than what they were able to do for the first 50 years of the 1911's design that you just got to break some of the newer ones in to loosen up the tolerances in there....just my personal pov on the matter
For the prices they charge, I would send that Kimber back as many times as it took for them to get it to work. Especially with such solid video evidence and such a big viewership.
@@thannydevitos2332 ~$1700 MSRP. I could shell out a quarter that much and still expect it to run like a typewriter or the company had better make it right.
I’d try lube before mailing it off, precision ground metal on metal does not like to be dry and can cause all kinds of problems. Firearms don’t need much maintenance, but they do need a few drops of oil here and there. My xds used to get light strikes unless it was well lubed, not a problem now that it’s broke it just wanted to point out its a problem all gun types can have. Wife’s high point had the same exact problem as Scott was having in this video and a few drops of oil on the rails fixed it. For those who don’t like cleaning and oiling, extreme duty gun grease will give you thousands of rounds between having to lube things. Not saying he shouldn’t use the warranty if needed, but there are several logical things to try before sending it back, I’d throw a different mag in it as well just to be sure. Who knows maybe is rubbing the bottom of the slide and slowing it down or something, unlikely imo but it’s a zero effort attempt so no reason not to.
@@jaydunbar7538for sure I agree with you, but seeing those failures, I doubt a lube job will fix them. The chamber probably needs to be reamed then polished and the feed ramp might need to be polished.
Ive been thinking about purchasing my 4th handgun - I've always admired the 1911s but for someone like yourself- sound like an experienced owner - are 1911s really that bad for 10mm?
@@erickhill8707 right on. I've just got to point in video where Kyle can't even get a round to chamber 🤣🤣🤣 Yea i got a lot more research to do - the Ruger SR1911 is one I'm interested in -- the feedback on Kimber less than pleasing. I'm gonna invest in a good gunsmith too work out the trigger magic - which i am not comfortable doing on my own. Thanks for feedback tho
7:34 - They conveniently engrave the reason for malfunctions right on the slide. Kimbers are great if you're looking for an overhyped, out-of-spec pistol that you have to send back 5 times to get it to work like any other 1911 (that costs half the price). Smucker's could quadruple their jam production if they bought Kimber.
Yeah my rock island armory m1911a1 is a monster, feeds whatever i put in it. Kimber makes pretty guns, but there perfomance is lacking to say the least.
@@lennybrewster4673 their rifles are very nice as well. Nothing extraordinary (especially for the price) but they're more of a classy "keep on the mantle" rifle than an all-out utility rifle.

I bought a RIA M1911 FS TACT II years ago when the Colt Delta Elite, Sig, and Glock were about your only choices. It’s 16 + 1 capacity, series 70, and has a mag well. It needs deeper/better slide serrations but it’s a gas to shoot! I’ve never liked Glocks and this was the only other high capacity 10mm out there. Had issues with front sight falling off but I replaced it with a Callaway sight and 27 pound recoil spring. It still slings brass 10 yards but full power loads would sling brass 30 yards before, no joke! It’s heavy but a joy to shoot. Never had jamming issues and can’t recall it ever jamming. It’s probably been a year since I shot it but thanks to this video, I believe tomorrow it’s gonna get a work out!
Only time I've had issue with my Kimber .45s was magazine related, when I got my first one brand new the mag was bent on the side and prevented it from clambering about as bad as your 10. Kimber makes nice 1911s but there has to be some quality control issues. I own 3 Kimber's and they treat me right. The glock 40 is the king of the show though.
I used to have a Kimber And I thought it was an unreliable junk gun until I switched Wilson combat magazines and never had a issue again Kimber magazines stink
I read somewhere that Kimber, and some other higher end 1911s, are made to tighter tolerances and don't perform properly until they have had several hundred rounds through them. The author of that comment said that the 1911 design actually works better when it's a bit loose. They should break them in for you at the factory for what they cost. I would love that job. 🤔🤓🍻
I've had worse luck with Kimber than any other 1911. I polished the feed ramp before I sent the no feeding POS in for warranty. They claimed polishing the feed ramp is removing metal and voided the warranty, and wanted $678 to fix a $1400 Pro Raptor Stainless that was a pos out of the box. My Rock Island out performs it for less than half the price.
@Dion Carey If polishing the feed ramps didn't fix the 1911, then it was for sure a dud/ lemon. I feel, kimber should get their act together. The Rock Island is the way to go I'd say.
I have a Kimber 1911 .45 and it’s great. Initially I had loading problems too but found there are two possible causes for your failure to feed problems. First, magazines; with factory magazines, they can tilt the nose of the bullet down and effectively cause the bullet to “head butt” the feed ramp. This is caused by a lack of support on the loading tray in the magazine. Wilson Combat magazines cure this as they have a plastic block for a feed tray making impossible for the bullet to nose dive. Second, the ejector is too tight (I think this is your problem from what very little I saw in the video). When your ejector is too tight, your bullet gets loaded but it causes it to load incorrectly causing a jam. There are several videos explaining how to adjust your ejector if you don’t want to send it to Kimber. On another note, Kimbers are well tuned with very tight tolerance’s. Knowing this, you have to clean the gun and get the factory grease off. This stuff is good for shipping but will slow the gun down and could also cause feeding problems. After I looked into these things on mine, it is extremely reliable. Once you understand that this is a classy lady, she’ll sing like a fine opera house. Treat her poorly, don’t clean her and feed her bad magazines or poor ammo (which you did not), she will act like an old broken down, coffee drinking, cigarette smoking truck stop hooker. Glock and S&W aren’t as finicky. Kimber is just a high maintenance girl that’s gotta be treated just right, that’s all.
I love the 10mm, but it does take time to reacquire your sight alignment for follow up shots; however, if you hit your target, its usually a one and done type of deal.
You can modify the recoil through multiple methods, for example my Glock has a 6" barrel with a 21pound spring, shoots like butter. Or my XDM has a Threaded barrel with a recoil compensator on it, its as smooth as shooting a 40.
I have a friend who has a Kimber and he said that out of the box the gun had really tight tolerances to the point he was having cycling issues. His fix was to just run mag after mag through it and eventually it loosened up and is now the smoothest 1911 he's fired. Not sure if that's the case here but I figured I would throw that out there.
Yeah. No. For that price it needs to work out of the box. My Delta never had an issue with it. Runs everything I throw at it. Kimber is just a joke brand these days.
On that 1911, it could be the magazine dragging on the slide. I bought a 9mm magazine for my wife's 1911 that was causing malfunctions not too long ago. It was a good quality magazine, but the feed lips were just a bit too high for this particular pistol; I filed them just a little bit, chamfered the edge, and it runs fine.

From every 1911 I have ever had the pleasure of shooting, for some reason they don't like hollow points, but after you take and polish the feed ramp they usually perform a lot better. Almost mirror finish.

My Kimber 10mm 1911 ran pretty badly also for the first 100 round and ever since it has gone perfectly without question. I think it was a bur or sharp edge on the feed ramp or chamber
As with most Kimbers, a good break in period always help it work better. My 1911 LE/RL II ran 45acp really well until I upgraded it to 460 Rowland. Then it took a little while for the barrel to properly break in. Runs fine now and really packs a punch with those 460 rounds.
extractor tension is also another usual issue. In mass production, they just want products out the door and don't spend to much time adjusting it properly. After fixing that issue on my 1911, it runs well now.
Hey Scott @Kentucky Ballistics I really want to tell you, the last time you promoted theKamikoto knives on your channel was around Christmas time. I needed a Christmas present for my sister and her family and I was at her house at thanksgiving. Her knives were really horrible. I couldn’t cut through the cranberry sauce they were so bad. I hope M&P makes a longslide version if the current 4.6" 10mm sells well. They'll likely add a 5" option as they already do that for the 9 and 40, but I'd like to see a six inch to really yoke that 10mm power.
The Magnum Research DE1911 10G was the first pistol I've bought. Single stack, 5" barrel, and takes hot loads like a champ. I've loved the 10mm ever since.
Although it's on the cheaper side of things, but I've had a ruger sr1911 in 10mm for a few years and it's been nothing but a champion, I highly recommend
I love those Glocks, Scott. When I was young, and pretty much broke, I needed a handgun to protect my young family. I couldn’t afford much, and ended up buying an inexpensive, foreign copy of the 1911 in .45. I caught a LOT of flak for not buying a higher end gun that I simply couldn’t afford. And I can’t stress enough that it was a LOT of flak. But it certainly shamed that Kimber right out of the box! I also had a “friend” back then with high end guns with issues from the get go, and my now 30 year old, foreign, “piece of junk” has jammed once that I remember. In fact, i trust it so much that I handed it down to my son.
@UCAa8WQV7bOP8j_qfH2JXX9A Nothing wrong with a RIA 1911. Mine runs just fine. Never had a single issue with it, bullets go where I send them. Its GTG. (That being said - my goto for a handgun is my G20 gen4... because yes, 10mm is best mm)
I absolutely love the “you just got jammed”!! I have been thinking of getting a 10mm and now I know I won’t be getting a Kimber 1911!! I really liked the Glock model 40!!
Lots of 1911s need 200-300 rounds to marry parts but this seems like a ramp issue or was it always the same mag? They definitely got it right with that Mako, especially the trigger.
I’ve been selling guns for almost 10 years and especially in the past 4 or 5 years if I could never sell another kimber again then I probably wouldn’t. Basically expect to polish the feed ramp on 50-75% of their new 1911’s just to get them to function correctly out of the box
@@TDJUNKIEOZ The sad thing is Scott started with basic round nose. If the gun couldn't feed those, it's not gonna feed sh*t. I'm gonna wager Rancher011 is right about the feed ramp, and I would check extractor tension as well. It might be a little tight and preventing the rim of the case from sliding all the way up under the hook. Either way, for what a Rapide costs that shouldn't be a problem. I just bought a Girsan for one third of what that thing costs and it fed flawlessly *before* I polished the feed ramp. WTF Kimber is doing I don't know.
So I recently picked up the Glock G40 4 gen and dropped it in a recovery 20/21 brace and dropped a vortex red dot on top. Quickly became one of my favorite hand cannons. Gonna be fielding it come next deer season.

I don't know why, but an MP5 in 10mm sounds amazing! Also, that gun that kept jamming, it wasn't ACTUALLY a semi-auto pistol. It was a single shot slide action pistol. What you thought was a jam was really how it was intended to function, with you operating the slide as a part of design.
Kimber does make some beautiful 1911s. That kimber sapphire with the polished blue slide looks magnificent. However they seem to have always put form over function.
I have owned the G20 for a few years, could never find a G40. I finally got one last year and I agree, I love the hell out of it. I do however run a KKM 7.25" barrel which really picks up the velocity with my handloads!!
Kimber's having insanely long break in. I just sent my Kimber stainless back to them after 400 rounds and had their gunsmiths take a look at it. It's ran good ever since.
Two friends of mine have kimbers. One had 300 rounds through it and started doing what the one in the video was doing. Put another 150 through it and it got worse. I went through and deburred, stoned, and even had to properly fit a couple parts after kimber told us just to run +p ammo and see if that fixes it. Runs perfect now. The other started having the occasional ftf, so I did the same thing as I did to the other, runs perfect now. Their quality control sucks
@@4mrholsterco981 I personally am glad they're getting out of Yonkers, New York. I think the entire problem lies with Yonkers, New York. About 2 1/2 years ago I was in the market for a do-all side arm, after watching numerous reviews of that Kimber 1911 I opted for the Glock 20 gen 4. I ran about 5000 rounds through that gun without cleaning it, never a jam

It recoils a bit more than the 40, but honestly it’s still not that bad. I did shoot a subcompact 40 Smith & Wesson, and I agree, the recoil on them is definitely more noticeable due to the small size.
I have an Iver Johnsons 1911 in 10mm with the same feed issue. From what I can tell, when the feed ramp is part of the frame and the barrel is a separate part there can be issues with the nose of the round transitioning from ramp to chamber. When the feed ramp is actually part of the barrel, it goes much smoother. At least that's how I understand it.
Iv got a eagle xl and haven't had any issues with it. My guess would be the chamber tolerance is extra tight and the underwood ammo Scott is using is on the longer side
Thats pretty cool Smith & Wesson sent you some guns. Had the metal chiming. The gun had the Jam editor on fire. The slow motion on the recoil really painted a pretty picture. Was fun to watch. Great video
I’ve known several people who have had 10mm 1911’s ranging from Springfield to Nighthawk and everyone has had reliability issues. I’m sure someone will chime in that they have a RIA that has 1.37 million rounds through it without a hiccup but that’s just been my experience.
Well, you asked for it!! Completely honest, my Rock Island Armory 1911 10mm hasn't had a single glitch. I cleaned it really well when I got it home, brand new, but had excessive oil on it. After that, I have run all.kinds of ammo, with no problem. Just my personal experience, but you kinda gave a snide vibe with it. So, I had to give it back.
@@wiseguysoutdoors2954 no snide intended. I’ve seen $3k Nighthawk 10mm choke a ton. I was just using RIA as and example of the least expensive 10mm 1911 I know. Sounds like you got a keeper.
The malfunction with the 1911 is most likely the angle of the feed ramp. Either that or the slide is out of tolerance. A little machining should fix it up nicely.
7:30 The round is past the ramp, bullet in line with the barrel when it jams. It looks more likely that the rim is getting stuck on it's way under the extractor, and the back of the case is low - burr on the extractor or a ridge left on the breech face. He got it to fire by dropping the round in the chamber, and slamming the slide on it. Not a good idea in a non-exposed extractor like this, BTW, it puts a lot of stress on the extractor, but in the case of this gun, who really cares.
I love 1911's and never seen an issue that bad. Especially with Kimber. I would be calling them asap and giving them a piece of my mind. Given the price that thing probably was....yeah....send that bad boy back for repair or replacement.
Funny how so many people jump straight to mailing it back, first thing I’d do is take It apart and lube then retry, change mags since they are the most common problem with 1911 reliability, then if all looked good and the problem persisted then I’d consider mailing it back. In my experience with the same issue it was a lack of lube on the slide causing it, it was not a hi-point warranty issue it was operator error. Every problem I’ve had with any of my guns has been lube or magazine related from the lowly hi-point to my Dan Wesson Valor, not that manufacturer defects don’t happen but they are far from the norm.
My favorite handgun in my collection is also the first handgun I bought brand new in 1987, which is a Colt Delta Elite 10MM. It always eats up anything I feed it and is reliable. That Kimber looks like it has feed ramp issues, which is unfortunate that Kimber has such piss poor quality control these days. Kimber ra'peed indeed.
@@dashwerks it's a feeding issue. The ammo was damn near trying to feed up a 90 degree ramp on every close up they showed while it tried to chamber a round. Extraction has nothing to do with it. Now, of course, once the ramp is sorted, we'll see if it has too much bite, but seems to extract just fine.
What I've always heard is that Kimber's jam worse than any other 1911. I have a RIA 1911 in 10mm and it cycles fine on fmj. However RIA told me they don't recommend hollow points because it won't cycle near as well as using fmj. Something about not having the flat surface on the tip of the bullet
I absolutely love my 10mm pistols, it is just a beast of a round. I have a Glock 20 and a Rock Island 1911 chambered in 10mm, but I don't get jammed with my Rock Island like the Kimber does. I've always thought that Kimber was kind of overrated personally.
I get it that some Kimber's can be finicky and you expect when you pay that much for a gun (or anything) that it should work really well right out of the box. Having that said when you shoot one that is "tuned" perfectly it's a dream and you just won't get that out of a less expensive pistol. Comparing a 1911 Super Match 2 vs. any Glock is like the difference between driving a Ferrari and a Toyota. The Ferrari is going to break all the time and it's really expensive and annoying to constantly fix but when it's working there's nothing like it. There's also nothing wrong with $600 or even $200 dollar pistols but you don't buy a $3000 dollar pistol for protection. It's for fun.
Im loving the “how bad can i mess up this tables day” meme at the end of the videos recently as well. Just all in all great content from scott as always 👍🏻
Definitely the G40! That thing was awesome! I've always thought that 10mm might be a nice between the lines choice of a .45 ACP & 9mm Luger. Just as I lean towards the 6.5mm Creedmore being a nice compromise between the 7.62x51mm & 5.56x45mm.
@@erikbukovac5944 Very nice! All the more reason to adopt it as a sensible primary use handgun/SMG cartridge. What are your thoughts on the 6.5mm Creedmore in relation to the two rounds which I compared it to?
"I guess that's a 1911 for you" In that moment, if you listened very carefully, you could hear the collective crying and screaming of all Fudds within a 45 mile radius of where Scott was filming.
I have a Rock Island 1911 10. It has been the berries. Accurate as heck never jammed not even when running .40 cal through it. I also have a 10 hipoint carbine, also a mighty fine accurate weapon never jams with either 10 mm or .40 cal running through it. Very pleased with both, it was good to see you doing such a review.
My favorite out of all would be the most reliable, the Glock. Out of all that were shown it looks like it was functioning the best. Personally I am mainly a 45 kind of guy, but now I want to go to a range and rent a 10 mm to get the feel. Odds are I would end up wanting to buy it.
Even after a dozen "You just got jammed" plays it still doesn't get old! lol! 🤣 The Kimber Rapide 10mm is notorious for jamming and feed problems. There are dozens of reviews and sites that are having the same problem. To be fair the Springfield 1911 in 10mm has some jamming issues so it could have a little to do with the caliber in that frame style, but Kimber is REALLY bad and their forum sites are saying the barrel needs to be reemed and it needs stronger springs, some claims of the geometry of the extractor and/or magazine is wrong and that it doesn't like hollow points. Good looking gun 🔫 but one with issues! Maybe link this video to Kimber and see how they respond to you. Maybe get a replacement out of it or some free repair work and they sponsor your new review of the gun!! 😁
I had some improvement on mine switching to Wilson Combat magazines. Had the same problem with the mag that was sent with the .45. The .45 runs perfect with the WCs, but the 10mm still has a failure to go completely into battery once every 2 or 3 mags with FMJ or hollow points. I haven't tried switching springs yet. I've had the .45 about 10yrs and the 10mm only about 6mo.
It all sounds like the same excuses the Remington gave for my rp45. They said I needed to put more rounds through it. Told him I didn't have the time after kept jamming after everything second or third round. One come to battery wouldn't reload
@@Buddha23Fett The TRP (tactical response pistol) is a great gun. It was based off the FBI Professional model and is in-between their custom builds and regular production 1911's. It's built to higher standards and tolerances so it doesn't jam as easily and has a better feed system. The standard production models are the ones that experience the feed and jam issues. The Kimber doesn't have the same quality as Springfield with their tolerances and even the gold coating on the barrel and feed can cause issues with clearances and slide action. Hang onto that TRP because they are going to be sought after and even harder to get now that it's been discontinued
Trust me, as a (former) 1911 user: take a Dremel and polish the throat of the feed ramp, and verify your magazines don't hold the rounds past the midline of the primer. This lead to so much frustration (to me) that I traded it in and bought a CZ 75 SP-01 instead.
Plus extractor tuning every couple hundred rounds. When they work they are easily the best design under $2,000. However even a piece of Tupperware is close enough that unless you are competing it hardly makes a difference. I love the CZ75 and it’s variations however and have a Shadow II with Vortex 6moa on top.
I think I'd go with a 1911... Just not a Kimber. Dan Wesson makes some gorgeous 10mms. Other than that, I know my range has that s&w 610. I thought about it for a minute.
They've been around for a while - Ruger has had one on the market for a few years now. Although, I don't see the point when revolvers are chambered in .357 mag.
Great video Scott! My favorite would be the SW 610 revolver followed by the G20. Those Kimbers can sure be picky about what ammo they like. I have a Rock Island 45 that has ran flawlessly so far with fmj and hollowpoints. That jamming sure would cause some aggravation! Thanks so much for the great family friendly videos! My 10 yr old daughter and 16 yr old son wait for the new videos every week.
Try 40 S&W with moon clips on a 610 - real soft shooting - it feels like a 22. 6-1/2" barrel tack driver, light trigger, 1\2" groups @ 10 yds were common.
The same thing happened to my new CZ 75 pistol after about 200 rounds at the range, and here is what fixed it. A little bit of CLP spray right onto the firing pin and started firing with no problem. The bullet comes up at an angle onto the feeding ramp, and the slide pushes the bullet into battery, I had to much carbon build up preventing the the back of the round from sliding up onto the firing pin. Always have a little spray can of CLP, solves most of the failure to feed issues.
I hope you enjoyed the video and thanks for watching! 🔥

Was like a broken record there for a bit 🤣🤣
Every single time. Makes me laugh.
I can't explain it, but I swear I laughed harder with each consecutive one.
Kimbers are a little rough. I've had great success with my Ruger 1911.
Yeah. It's a Kimber thing.
I bought a Rock Island Armoury 1911 in 10mm in December and it's cycled 200 rounds 100%. So far that's as much as I've shot it.
Typical kimber
Agreed I have an STI and I don't have any issues with it unless it's extreme penetrator Lehigh defense bullets everything else feeds With no issues
1911’s need to be tuned right. It’s mostly an extraction issue. But that being said a mid level 1911 and 2hrs with a stone and some slight adjustments and you will have a very smooth and sexy gun. You don’t actually need to spend Kimber money to get a good 1911.
Scott is the guy in those math problems about someone buying a lot of fruit at the store.
😂😂😂
Scott is not the problem, he’s the solution!!!!
Man is buying his weekly fruits in the store. He usually only buys one pineapple but there is today three for the price of two at $2.25 per pineapple. He doesn't usually buy oranges but he also spots buy one get one free on a 40 pound carton for $25. How much fruit has he just wasted?

I'm beginning to believe that Scott's tables are the reincarnations of very bad people, lol.
He really seems to hold a grudge against those plastic tables. What have they ever done to him.
I wish John Moses Browning could see this high speed footage. He would shed a tear of pride seeing this equipment in action, also he would send a "strongly worded letter " to kimber for letting loose that thing at the end of the line.
Preach brother, Preach! 😇

My Rock Island Armory 1911 10mm single stack hasn't given me one single issue, right out of the case.
Everything I've seen in the last several years is that Kimber's QC has really slipped. I think this video singlehandedly proved it.
And they used to produce top performing pistols.
It’s a shame, isn’t it?
Yep, Kimber was the exception to the rule about sub $2000 1911’s for a while but now they run in the middle of the pack at best.
True. A hi-point is a better made gun then anything from Kimber.

7:34 - They conveniently engrave the reason for malfunctions right on the slide. Kimbers are great if you're looking for an overhyped, out-of-spec pistol that you have to send back 5 times to get it to work like any other 1911 (that costs half the price). I’ve never liked Glocks and this was the only other high capacity 10mm out there. Had issues with front sight falling off but I replaced it with a Callaway sight and 27 pound recoil spring. It still slings brass 10 yards but full power loads would sling brass 30 yards before, no joke!

Kimber is just a high maintenance girl that’s gotta be treated just right, that’s all.
lmaao the fact scott shows you his fancy new gun jamming just shows you how genuine he is.
@Weisi Minia what I'm the heck are you saying there slant?
Your the most likable gun guy on you tube. The way you stayed positive in the hardest of times was ausome.
I love the 10mm, but it does take time to reacquire your sight alignment for follow up shots; however, if you hit your target, its usually a one and done type of deal.
It's a one hitter quitter. 💪
You can modify the recoil through multiple methods, for example my Glock has a 6" barrel with a 21pound spring, shoots like butter. Or my XDM has a Threaded barrel with a recoil compensator on it, its as smooth as shooting a 40.
Now repeat: sight, sight, sight, sight, sight.
Write it a 100 times till morning. Hail Ceasar.
That`s the case for quite a few pistols out there even though it shoud`nt be. One thing for sure this video is going to hurt Kimber sales.
Yeah. No. For that price it needs to work out of the box.
My Delta never had an issue with it.
Runs everything I throw at it. Kimber is just a joke brand these days.
Same here and I use some oil to keep it lubricated
On that 1911, it could be the magazine dragging on the slide. I bought a 9mm magazine for my wife's 1911 that was causing malfunctions not too long ago. It was a good quality magazine, but the feed lips were just a bit too high for this particular pistol; I filed them just a little bit, chamfered the edge, and it runs fine.

The Magnum Research DE1911 10G was the first pistol I've bought. Single stack, 5" barrel, and takes hot loads like a champ. I've loved the 10mm ever since.
I have the same gun in 45acp,I'll take a DE1911 any day over a kimber. It is a absolute rockstar, had it for years and not 1 single issue.
Although it's on the cheaper side of things, but I've had a ruger sr1911 in 10mm for a few years and it's been nothing but a champion, I highly recommend
“You just got jammed” lmao!! Great video
Dang should have gotten one in .46 they have a lot more power.

Nothing wrong with a RIA 1911. Mine runs just fine.
Never had a single issue with it, bullets go where I send them. Its GTG.

Lots of 1911s need 200-300 rounds to marry parts but this seems like a ramp issue or was it always the same mag? They definitely got it right with that Mako, especially the trigger.
Springfield XDM-10 Also a very solid and affordable option, but yea cant go wrong with G20
I’ve been selling guns for almost 10 years and especially in the past 4 or 5 years if I could never sell another kimber again then I probably wouldn’t. Basically expect to polish the feed ramp on 50-75% of their new 1911’s just to get them to function correctly out of the box
100% . With that steep feed ramp angle it’s a chore to get them to feed hollow points reliably.
kimbers have gone really down , their quality control is bad and they still cost a ton
The wildlife love you in them woods . Smorgasbord of food .Hats off Scott.
So I recently picked up the Glock G40 4 gen and dropped it in a recovery 20/21 brace and dropped a vortex red dot on top. Quickly became one of my favorite hand cannons. Gonna be fielding it come next deer season.
Can't beat a Glock bro
The best part of the "you just got jammed" meme is the absolute commitment to it when the gun just doesn't want to load.

KIMBER KWALITY
I don't know why, but an MP5 in 10mm sounds amazing!
Also, that gun that kept jamming, it wasn't ACTUALLY a semi-auto pistol. It was a single shot slide action pistol. What you thought was a jam was really how it was intended to function, with you operating the slide as a part of design.
It's not a glitch, it's a feature.

My Kimber .45 1911 took ages to break in. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 500 rounds throughout it's life.
Who tf wants to shoot 400-500 times just to get your gun to work:/
Two friends of mine have kimbers.

I have an old Kimber .45 from back when they were a highly respected brand andas long as I shoot any other brand of ammo other than the Winchester Super-X ball it works flawlessly. But for whatever reason that ammo and it do not agree with each other. But from what I've learned lately I don't think I would buy another Kimber.
Same here. Have a 25 year old Kimber .45 is flawless with most ammo. the new models and current production and or machinist have lost it!
I concur. I have an old Classic Custom (bought back in 1999) in 45 and never had an issue with it over all these years. Really sad to see how Kimber quality has gone down and not really considered a reliable firearm anymore.
Agree, the Oregon pistols....from my knowledge were basically gunsmith built guns......
I wouldn't buy anything after they moved to Yonkers.. but I'm glad I have a Oregon made kimber....that feels almost like a hand-built gun
About 2 1/2 years ago I was in the market for a do-all side arm, after watching numerous reviews of that Kimber 1911 I opted for the Glock 20 gen 4. I ran about 5000 rounds through that gun without cleaning it, never a jam

I have two RIA 1911s, a Govt model in 38 Super and an Ultra FS, a 10mm double stack. Both are very accurate, great triggers and eat anything with no hiccups. A gun doesn't need to be over 4 digits to shoot well and be reliable. 1911s are still incredible pistols.
I have a Ruger SR1911 in 10mm that I paid like 7 bills for and it hasn’t jammed once on me. To be fair I prob only have 5-600 rounds thru it but every other 1911 I’ve had has jammed harder than Phish.
I have an Ultra FS double stack as well. I've only put about 4 magazines through it but I thoroughly enjoy it. Had a couple magazine issues but I think that's because of poor manufacturing and not being broke in yet

So far the Glock 40 is the only 10 mm I have as well. My wife wants to get the Springfield XDM Elite in 10 mm. I’ve shot the Glock 20. My brother has one. It recoils a bit more than the 40, but honestly it’s still not that bad. I did shoot a subcompact 40 Smith & Wesson, and I agree, the recoil on them is definitely more noticeable due to the small size.
I need a Glock 40 in my life!
Great video
Man the doctors did a great job. looking better now than before the accident!
I’ve known several people who have had 10mm 1911’s ranging from Springfield to Nighthawk and everyone has had reliability issues. I’m sure someone will chime in that they have a RIA that has 1.37 million rounds through it without a hiccup but that’s just been my experience.
If someone has 1.37 million rounds through a gun, make them your friend/ammo supplier 🤣🤣🤣
I only have 1.36 million through mine ill come back in a week to tell how it ends
I got about 1,370 rounds out of my RIA 1911 .45. No jams!
That's the first thing i thought with the 1911 , i have one of those and i needed to do a little feed ramp work on it and now it runs with no issues
Best way to fix that problem: buy a Wilson Combat 1911.
The “you just got jammed” 8 times killed me 😂😂😂😂
My favorite handgun in my collection is also the first handgun I bought brand new in 1987, which is a Colt Delta Elite 10MM. It always eats up anything I feed it and is reliable.
That Kimber looks like it has feed ramp issues, which is unfortunate that Kimber has such piss poor quality control these days. Kimber ra'peed indeed.
I wanted a Delta Elite but $450 was steep in 1988.
Or extractor issue
My Rock Island Armory 1911 10mm loves the 200 gr Nosler Defense hollow points. Give them a go.
@@wiseguysoutdoors2954 I believe it. The only thing that confuses the hell out of me is why using them voids the warranty
I absolutely love my 10mm pistols, it is just a beast of a round. I have a Glock 20 and a Rock Island 1911 chambered in 10mm, but I don't get jammed with my Rock Island like the Kimber does. I've always thought that Kimber was kind of overrated personally.
No issues with my rock island 10mm either. Definitely impressed so far.
I love my RIA 10mm

Definitely the G40! That thing was awesome! I've always thought that 10mm might be a nice between the lines choice of a .45 ACP & 9mm Luger. Just as I lean towards the 6.5mm Creedmore being a nice compromise between the 7.62x51mm & 5.56x45mm.

My G29 subcompact kicked less than the Subcompact single stack .45 from glock (g26?)

Basically what I've gathered from this is that even a six-shot revolver is more reliable than a Kimber. Thanks, Scott! 🇺🇲
I’ve got a Springfield TRP 10mm and it feeds just fine.

Yep....too much carbon buildup....on a brand new gun.......
