In this video, @andyescapes and I go through his photos and I provide feedback on all of them. In general, I think Andy is a good photographer for sure, but we go over many of the things that can take a good photograph and make it great.

We want more of this kind of video! It really helps on correcting the mistakes that we common people don’t know
Super helpful level of critique here. I don't see much on UA-cam in the "intermediate" realm where the photos are GOOD, not total amateur work, but could be BETTER. Those slightly more advanced tips around intentionality, framing, timing, etc. are really great and Pat expresses them thoughtfully.
Agreed. TONS of beginner series on YT. Not many intermediate and advanced.
Thought Andy's color grading was pretty strong
Pat you should make this a series with other photographers! The value this had was enormous!
I can not stress how helpful, interesting and impressive this kind of video was! Thank you so much, would love to see the format returning.
Really like this format! Visualizing what you're referring to is a big winner, I see that helping me with my photography down the road.
You are such a gentle and soft-spoken critic. There was more to learn than photography in this video.
on first glance I thought his photos were perfect and beautiful especially the first one.....but I understand your critiques
Cool video concept Pat. Some great shots by Andy here, he is definitely talented. It's kind of a shame that we've become somewhat forced to crop everything vertically for instagram. I felt at least a few of these landscape shots would have been better if they were shot or cropped horizontally, such as the northern lights shot. I also feel that shots with mountain ranges are usually better suited for horizontal, as it creates more of a "vast" feeling, such as the NZ hiking shot at 40:35.
More videos like this one Pat please! Very useful. Congrats to both on your amazing work!
Learned quite a bit in 45 minutes from this video
The timing is perfect before my next trip to Tanzania and Kenya where I plan to take both landscapes and wild life photography
The didactic value this video has is enormous! Loved this format, Pat. And Andy's photos are awesome too, omggg
These videos are so underrated! one of the most useful videos on actually improving your photography other than just "tips and tricks"
Love hearing both opinions! Very valid thoughts from Pat and shows lots of understanding of time, positioning and lighting - not to mention attention to details. Well done on the videos and great photos too Andy!
Great video, please more content like this, I learned a lot. Andy thanks for the courage to put yourself in a vulnerable position to enable the learning of many people. Pat, you gave a master class on how to provide respectful but strong feedback.
Super helpful style of video! and your opinions are bang on. Thanks pat!
So full of helpful stuff, amazingly generous of both of you. Thanks!
Very practical and useful insights as always! Cheers to Pat and Andy!
Loved this video. I found it very helpful when thinking about composition. Thanks Pat and Andy!
Absolutely the best video! This helped me learn a lot of points. Thank you for making it.
I'd love to see more of this! Great work❤
Love this and would be great to see more. Much better than the professionals reviewing the "best" selected images. Definitely helps seeing the common mistakes pointed out and it'll help me leveling up my skills
Always happy to see a Pat Kay video 🎉
Great video and useful insight on framing of photos ...do make more of these!
Loved this Video. Amazing what details you saw and your tipps what could have been better. I just discovered your channel a few days ago and I have the feeling that I already startet to look different at my photos
I cannot thank you enough for these wonderful productive coaching!
Great walkthrough Pat . I found the video to be super helpful.
Such an amazing content for someone who tries to improve his photography !!
Love these kind of videos!
Please consider doing more of these videos. It's fun to guess what you think vs what the audience member thinks. The assignment of a numerical score is, in my opinion, not necessary. It's the feedback on the image that's important. Take your friend out from some sake and sushi...he deservers it!
That was the fastest 45 minute video I've ever watched I think. Great work gents!
I believe Pat can play the role of Jin Sakai from Ghost of Tsushima perfectly. There is an uncanny resemblance.
One can learn so much from this critique. Loved it
Learned a lot from this video, love it!
Love this video. Taught me a lot too
Lol, I feel like in a classroom with Professor Kay commenting on my photos, the second hand nervousness is strong with this video 😂
This is great! Can you please make more video’s like this!
I appreciated this style of content from you, Pat. Thanks for making time to share how your eye sees other people's work. A special thanks to @andyescapes for your willingness to put your work under the microscope for thousands of people to dissect and more importantly to learn. Pat, I'm curious... how and through whom did you receive feedback in your development as a photographer?
The andy x pat collab that I never knew I needed
This was fun! I liked the discussion and I learned something as well!
Amazing thank you🙏
Very good video! More content like this please. Or maybe a few episodes where you critique viewers photos
He definitely needs to shoot more lanscape photography. He has a natural eye for it. As he keeps shooting, he will get a lot better.
Love critiquing Pat..Thanks Andy for taking the "heavy lifting" on your pics for all of us
Thanks!
Brutal feedback. The Simon Cowell of photography x factor.
More critique videos please!!
hey is canon rebel sl3 a good camera for photography / landscapes and street photos
Great ❤
Take away: don't underestimate the power of cropping.
A lot of the times, the middle is not a very interesting place for your subject to be, in your frame. The girl on the rock at the beach, has no business being in the middle
what's wrong with artsy artsy
Same thoughts here
Has he quit his job yet?
19:25 model_kay in the house.
So interesting to see Andy’s photography grow over the years! Now quit your job 🫡
