  • The Russian government justified the 2022 invasion of Ukraine by appealing to the memory of Nazi Germany's 1941 invasion of the Soviet Union. This webinar, with scholars from The National WWII Museum's Jenny Craig Institute for the Study of War and Democracy and Arizona State University's School of Historical, Philosophical, and Religious Studies, is a roundtable discussion of the Third Reich's invasion and brutal occupation of Ukraine, the Holocaust in Ukraine, and Soviet responses to German aggression there. The aim of the webinar is to throw light on the actual course of events between 1941 and 1944 in Ukraine, a region of immense economic and strategic importance to both the Hitler and Stalin regimes during World War II.

Just when you think you've heard it all, wow, what a presentation. Poor Ukrainians and other Eastern Europeans.

Watch Jennifer laugh as she says, "another horrific aspect of German occupation policy" at 27:40, "a very graphic way to implement a starvation plan" at 28:42, and "I don't wanna like bore everyone" at 29:06. An insecure speaker, emotionally disconnected from the material she's reading

It's an interesting topic, but unfortunately too much of this seems like it's a script being read, particularly the young women's parts.

The food collection act was Russia and not Germany but I guess when lies like this are put out there this should serve as a lesson to never ever take any intervention into what is going on in Eastern Europe even if there's another holodomor.

    Most important question:
Who is Stepan Bandera? And what is the origin of "slava ukraini"?

It leaves you wondering why Americans have so little respect for Russian people. Ohlendorf et al should have been handed over to the Russians to conduct their own war crimes trials, given that the crimes occurred in their territories.

Stalin was responsible for more deaths than anyone other than Mao.
