"Steve Perry might have the greatest voice in Rock and Roll"
*30 seconds later*
"If you say Steve Perry doesn't have the greatest voice of all time I can't take you seriously" 😃
And Freddie Mercury!
he is soul singer deep inside.
Kelley Spangler Freddie Mercury never pulled it off live. Steve was better live than on the records. That’s what puts him above everyone else. He was almost perfect.
cue the guitar solo
@@kelleyspangler7426 YES! But 2 different styles. Freddie's voice was more operatic (is that a word?) lol
I have heard this song hundreds of times, but it took YOUR enthusiasm to remind me how great a song this was. THANKS!
Journey's only #1.
I agree totally. If you would have asked me what Journey songs to listen to this would not have been very high on my list.
But now?
Don't you love when that happens?
This dudes channel is the best reaction channel
He's awesome like that! Relights my fire for music and reminds me of music past. 😍
@@rodneysteffan3073 #truth he gives hope for all generations
There is a reason that Steve Perry is nicknamed ... "The Voice".... Now you know why.
Chadd Lindsay Yesss!!!
You are correct good sir. Steve Perry's voice ranks as one of the best to ever perform in any genre.
Ever been teased about your name----in reverse? One of the sexiest British actors in horror flicks! June
Oh, and YES I agree; Steve has thee very best voice in the ranks!!
@@zimjun7 always enjoyed Christopher Lee.
KTF: all this song needs is a guitar solo.
Neal Schon: hold my beer
I spit out my drink and laughed out loud when KTF said this. It’s com’in……..!!!
Lmao was looking for this comment. As soon as he said that, all I could think was HOLD ON, one of the best ever is coming your way!
*Faithfully by Journey*
Yes! Music video tho
I'M STILL YOURRRRRRRRRRRRSOOOOHHHHHHHHHHH
Yes this one
I agree. It's a ballad but it's very good. Bonus: Neal Schon solo.
great one! I'd also like to hear Lovin', Touchin' Squeezin'
My guy...
Faithfully, Open Arms, Wheel in the Sky
All good, brother
I second Faithfully!
Yaaaaassss!!!
You're not wrong.
I third Faithfully!
Separate Ways
Journey is such an underrated, and often unjustly mocked band.
They sold millions of records. I would hardly call that underrated.
@@domingoreyes9801 They were dismissed by the critics for years but as in so many cases the fans knew better.
Underrated? They just recently got inducted into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 👏
@@allmytcane yeah, finally...
To me, Journey is simply one of the best rock band in history. And Steve Perry is one of the best rock scene voice ever. They rate at the top, top, top. And that's no laughing matter. Peace!
What’s amazing about Journey is that you’ll still be this excited to here them 20 years later like I have. They’re timeless and one of a kind.
And remember, this was way before auto-tune was invented! He is my #1 favorite too!!
For what it's worth... Loving, touching, squeezing is a masterpiece....
Favorite song
Hear here!
AMEN TO THAT !
Absolutely.
Yes! My favorite.
Steve Perry met and married his wife knowing that she had stage 4 cancer. He said he knew their time together would be limited but it would be wonderful.
I don't think they ever married
And she encouraged him to get back to music
They never married. But, a true love story.
@@wpeters4361 If she had lived Cancer-free, after beating Cancer the first time, they might have married.
Steve Perry has never been married
Steve Perry is known as “the Voice.” An amazing talent.
Dude.. "Separate Ways" - Journey
You're welcome.
Also as a side honorable mention - "Oh Sherrie" - Steve Perry.
You're welcome x2
The Isz OMG! Yes! Would love to see that reaction! “Separate Ways” is a stirrer! 😃👏🏾
Was just about to comment this.
The Isz you forgot Wheel In The Sky
Yepppp and don't forget Faithfully. He'd cry!
Open Arms💯👍🏼
Steve perry is one of the best vocalis of all time...yes i agree bro...his voice is so unique, melodic, sweet but powerful
The best
I just realized why I like your videos. Its like when you were in High School and your hanging out with your buddies listening to music and you hear something that blows your mind and you are sharing it with your friends.
Steve voice one of the best voices ever... Neal Schon at the guitar, amazing solo! Go man! ✌️
Schon is severely underrated
@@ryanfoltz1276 I'm totally agree with you
Neil is so underrated.
Mother, Father....Perry's vocals are God-like! The range! OMG!
E.C. Everett The Amazing Steve Perry.
@NonLocalYokel ending of song it sounds like Steve is singing to Dolphins!
Yes... Mother/Father I think from this same show in Houston
YESSSS!!!!
My absolute favorite!! Mother, Father.... Love it!!
You don't just hear Steve Perry....You feel Steve Perry😍
Steve Perry wrote the lyrics of this song and wrote the chorus of the song driving from Bakersfield to San Francisco, singing into a cassette recorder. He went to Cain's house, rain pouring down in sheets outside, with the whole song in his head. He hummed the song to Cain and guided him through the piano part.
Dude, they call him "The Voice". Just sayin. You rock btw
Steve Perry is THE voice.
There are many great ones, but King Steve is a one of a kind.
I've been knowing this since the 70's.
Glad you finally discovered this.
Better late than never.
Yes it made me so happy a new Perry fan was born 😁
"Send her my love" live Frontiers tour mid 80's. No words to describe it.
"All we need is a guitar solo" Me: starts smiling.
Journey often caught a lot of flak because they had so many hits. But the facts are they wrote great songs and were/are an outstanding group of musicians. I think you will have trouble finding anyone who could argue that Steve doesn't have one of the greatest voices in rock. Neal Schon the guitar player is a guy who is pretty under the radar unless you are yourself a guitar player. If you play you know who Neal is. His solos are almost always on point fitting the song perfectly. He rarely overplays and his solos serve the song. His solo in this live version is "extended" and to me the studio solo is perfect. Here he does overplay it a bit but it's live so why not. Check out "Stone in Love" for great illustration of what I'm talking about.
After all these years, Steve Perry still gives me goosebumps
When I was in high school journey was pure panty dropper music. We all had a journey tape for night drives with the females for a reason.
When you got nothing but F - BOMBS - to describe your feelings , Its a good song.
Hahahahah
Try Mother Father from this same show.
Tru dat
Steve Perry's best performance is at the same concert. Give "Mother, Father" a go.
This was such an incredible time in concert history Rob ..and you said My Friend Mother Father will make ANYONE STAND UP AND TAKE NOTICE WITH RESPECT!!
If you only had Journey & Boston in your music playlist, your ears would die happy.
Ya gotta have BTO, REO Speedwagon, KC and the Sunshine Band.
Armygirlsdad nah, none of those do anything for me, SORRY 🤷♀️
Such a shame that both of those bands got slagged as "corporate rock" along with Foreigner for so long. They wrote hits, but they were hits for a reason. They had mad talent.
Steve Perry has that voice that makes you think to yourself, "Damn, I wish I could sing like that!"
He does have the best voice in rock...period.
Welcome to the Steve Perry fan-worshiping club, dude, glad to have you aboard!!
" Steve Perry has one of the best voices of all time"...
TRUE!!...W/O A DOUBT!
Steve Perry does have the best voice ever....please check them out singing “Wheel in the Sky “ & watch Steve Perry sing an incredibly high note while the guitar solo plays. It sounds out of this world
That note is out of this stratosphere!!!!!!
Neal Schon is one of THE greatest guitarists ever. His lyrical style of soloing is on legend status. Great reaction, brother - keep it up!
Ray Martinez Neal is kind of under radar for most folks who just listen. If you play though you damn sure know who Neal Schon is!
Neal was with Carlos Santana at Woodstock.
Musicianship youll never see again
If only he could back it up with nice, humble attitude. From what I’ve read about him he’s been known to be a very cocky, unpleasant and greedy individual. He got married not too long ago and he had the wedding televised on pay-per-view. Who does things like that? A wedding even if it’s celebrities, should be a private thing.
He sure is.
His voice is phenomenal!
Honestly, Journey is definitely one of the greatest rock bands that came out of the 80’s. Steve Perry’s voice is still on a level that can’t be touched. This is an awesome song but it’s not even their most known and beloved. There are honestly so many songs by Journey that are incredible. Also, their lead guitarist, Neal Schon is ranked quite amongst the best ever.
They came out of the 1970s.
@@floorticket Yes but their popularity peaked in the 80's so they are therefore known as an 80's band.
Please react to Stone In Love by Journey Live 1981 Houston!!!! PLEASE!🙏🙏🙏
I was just going to suggest that, myself. One of their very best, as far as I'm concerned.
Favorite song from Journey..
Neal Schon, the guitar player, played with Santana at the age of 17. Neal is a bad ass player. STONE IN LOVE next please...
Should try Mother/Father from that show. Incredible vocals...
I was thinking the EXACT same thing!
Wheel In The Sky was my first Journey song
he has one of those voices, when you hear it you know it's him.
sherri copeland Exactly! Making no mistake!
Best voices in Rock.... Steve Perry and Freddie Mercury!
Totally!!
AMEN!!! 🙏🏼❤️👍🏼
And David Gilmour...
@@JohnMedved the guitar player? Wtf?
@@JohnMedved Pink Floyd is one of the greatest band ever, and David Gilmour is a wonderful guitarist, but not the best singer....
Journey is such a feel good group. The Escape album was so played in my room, I had to buy it twice.
Perry's vocals were simply amazing.
Neil schon on guitar was super underrated in an era filled with great guitarists.
Steve Perry is a once in a lifetime voice. More Journey please
Please
Incredibly Arnell Pineda sounds like a young Steve Perry
Agreed!Preston! That's y they call Steve Perry the Voice! 👏👏👏
I love Steve Perry's voice. Wheel in the Sky is one of my favorites.
Your hilarious, Steve Perry one of the best rock vocalist everrrrrrrrrrr. Earlier this year he released a solo album, his voice is still amazing 27 yrs later :P
Nailed it...Steve Perry is the best male rock vocalist ever, imho. And nobody sounded as good, if not better, performing live than he did back in the day. ❤️
@mikeforti Good list. Chris Cornell is a close second!!!
Don't forget about Layne Staley
You need to listen to more Journey. "ANY WAY YOU WANT IT"
Yes, when Greg Rollie was still in the band and shared vocals with Steve.
Phenomenal voice, try wheel in the sky its awesome
They sound so good live
No autotune, the writers/singers/musicians on stage, no back up dancers, filled massive arenas...just absolute pure gold. Pure heart and soul. Steve Perry "THE VOICE", a legend. Missing this...true music and talent.
It is hard to describe how huge this band was in the 70's and 80's. Bands did it way better live back then also.
His voice was in the world record books. Back in the day. Not sure about now. Keep rocking out Preston!🤘🤘🤘🤘
Steve Perry's "When You Love A Woman" Just a favorite
Steve Perry can sing his ass off
Some music drowns out the singers voice but they never did drown out his beautiful voice. Would love for him to make records again. This is natural talent in its pure form you don't see much of anymorr
@KingKTF Steve Perry's nickname is The Voice for a reason!!
More Journey, please!
Stone in Love
Open Arms
Lights
Worlds Apart/Separate Ways (long play, studio version)
Mother, Father (LIVE in Houston 1981)
Lovin' You is Easy
Faithfully
Thank you for reacting to Journey!👍
My favorite song in 6th grade, Yes I’m old, Possibly the best rock singer of the 80’s Great voice
Lol...you not old, I was out of school a year before that song
swen meyer Well why do I feel old? Is it nap time yet? Lol
@@marcbolinger3648 lol....its always nap time
Axl Rose, Sebastian Bach. Freddie Mercury,... but the best was Marie from Roxette.
Nathan Krush 😂
“Boston” has some really great talent too. “More than a Feeling” & “Foreplay/Longtime” excellent songs.
I concur he does have one of the best voice's ever.
Rock n Roll he definitely is #1.
I love your open mindedness to music..it's good energy man.
U have to play mother, father by Journey by Steve Perry live
Great song choice... loved it by far then who's crying now.

That song takes me back to middle school and recording it from American Top 40.
Yes it is love that song ❤️
Journey "lovin, touchin, squeezin"
One of the greatest voices ever. I saw them years ago and his voice was very powerful.
Steve Perry was out of this world with crazy good vocals.
Please do some Lou gramm/ foreigner! The “other” best singer from that era. You won’t be disappointed
Loud on his own was AWESOME
Joey Boedeker yep
I'd also add Jimi Jamison from Survivor in this conversation too.
Royce B good choice
Foreigner yes!!!! Absolutely great band.
React to Girl Can't Help It. Live from Houston. You'll get to see American Idols own Randy Jackson. Fantastic
YEEEEEEEAAAAH! JOURNEY! 😍😍😍😍😍😍
Would love to see your reaction to "Sweet and Simple" .... really shows what a great voice Steve Perry has.
Agreed steve perry is one of if not the best in history
Def one of the greatest voices in history!!
PERFECT reaction. 'Nuff said KTF. I agree about Steve Perry's voice. During this time, his voice was UNEQUALED, and one of the best ALL-TIME. "Mother, Father", from the same show, is my all-time favorite Journey song. Accept the challenge. 😉
Neil Schon is underrated
These guys made so good music. You can hear the greatness of their live-sound.
I saw them on this tour...Steve perry is amazing ... those were the days!!
I saw this show and the one in the Cotton Bowl Texas Jam 82
Me too! I saw them in 80, 81, 82, 83, 85, 86. One of my favorite bands ever!
no one can cover this track and do it any form of justice
Please react to Separate Ways by Journey ! You’ll love the lyrics
David Gilmour YEEEESSSS!!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
"Edge of the Blade" probably Journey's heaviest song and an UNBELIEVABLE performance by Steve Perry
Father Mother also
Totally agree. Steve Perry has one of greatest voices of all time. He must come back to Journey!
Please react to Rush - Time Stand Still. Great lyrics.
Hilarious video, but incredible lyrics.
Is it because Steve Perry looks like a mini Geddy Lee?
@@Melanie220 yeah, the video is ridiculous 😂 . The music is beautiful.
Steve must NEVER go back to Journey, he moved on , time for fans to let him.
He DOES have it all- Voice, stage presence, etc. And a guitar solo.
That guitar solo is one of the greatest in history to me. It's not the fastest or most technical but there's just so much power in it.
" We only a minute in and he's going to say some shit like that? " I laughed for 5 minutes, that is a great line. double thumbs up.
Journey "Lay it down" Escape album...crazy good vocals !
Your right King KTF, Journey is one of the greatest bands of all time, listen to their song "Lights", on their album Infinity!! You'll absolutely love this song, it fire all the way!!!
My two favorite bands growing up were Journey and Fleetwood Mac.
Thanks for the memories my friend.
I was at the 1981 Journey concert in Houston. My brother and I were on the 8th row center. Thanks for all those great memories.
Steve Perry= sexy rock God! Journey lives on...💕
Love when he sings "Oh Sherri" Strong!
Here are some classics you should check out:
REO speedwagon -keep on lovin‘ you
Boston - more than a feeling
HEART- crazy on you
Lita Ford- close my eyes forever (ft. Ozzy Osborne)
Kansas- dust in the wind
“Girl Can’t Help It” live from Raised in Radio is amazing too - Steve Perry’s voice is phenomenal. Randy Jackson on bass guitar. Just so awesome.
Dude if you love Steve Perry then the next Journey songs you need to listen to are, Mother Father and Sweet and Simple.
Sweet and simple is my favorite journey song!
@@gritter2112 this dude ought to react to that song Perry will blow his head off his shoulders.
Steve Perry’s throat was lined with gold!!! Love the reviews Preston! Please keep them coming

Total 70s classic. Great stuff.
Yes..another great one!! Wheels in the sky!!
I love your reactions. Been a Journey fan since the 80s. Amazing band and Steve Perry's voice is amazing
My favorite Journey song is Lights. It's slower, but sooo good. Also, I'd like to see you react to Electric Light Orchestra. Really good band along the same lines. Good songs: Wild West Hero, Rock And Roll is King, and 4 Little Diamonds.
Wow, this is how I feel every time I hear Steve's voice. There's just something about his voice and delivery that makes you feel the very essence of the lyrics of the song.
King KTF makes some of the best, if not THE best, music reaction videos on UA-cam, and this is one of my favorites. Love what you bring, King - the passion, the observations, the subtle editing, the overlays. Always 🔥. 🙏🏻
Journey Rabbit Hole? Journey Rabbit Hole. You should react to Send Her My Love.
It was awesome to see you witness this for the first time. I loved your reaction to the genius of Steve Perry's voice.
The Rock God's are Pleased!!!
Edit:
Please do Open Arms as your next Journey song.🙏
Think you would enjoy the live version of Journey's 'Mother Father'. Should do a reaction video on that song as well.
Steve Perry and Jonathan Cain (Pianist) wrote the lyrics to this song. Steve, Jonathan and Neal wrote most all of Journey's songs.
Hes not called "The Voice" for nuttin =)
