Having the muzzle brake on your Ruger American is a real plus for the girls, reducing the recoil a lot making it easier for them to handle, good hunting everyone

Not just a youth gun at all. Flatout effective whitetail gun especially with a quality round, especially for someone like myself living in the southern half of the lower peninsula.

I recently got into the 350L , I’m not even from a straight wall cartridge state , I was a skeptic in the beginning , but I’ve seen first hand what it will do to whitetail deer and as long as you keep your shots at a decent range it will fill your freezer with no problems , and the Hornady American Whitetail 170 gr. ammo hits like a freight train.

Spot on regarding your ammo choice. This round expands where many others have little to no expansion. Hornady American Whitetail 170s are where its at.
Here in Delaware, couple years ago they switched out shotgun season to a “general firearms” season and the .350 was added to the list. I can honestly say it’s a joy to carry around in the woods and has plenty of knockdown power, may be skimpy on blood trails but just know if you made a good hit , that deer isn’t 50 yard the direction it took of in, most have dropped right in track.

Nice fun video. I got one for no other reason than it is 35 cal. That diameter is so versatile from 9mm to 38spl, 357Mag, 35 Rem. This 350 fots right in.

Bought a Ruger American in 350L last year and l really like it. Took down a decent 8 point at 60 yrds with the Win Super-X 180 grain with the bullet going through the ribcage not hitting a single bone and it only ran 20 yrds before tipping over. Now you just have to find out what kind of ammo your rifle likes and hunt with it.
TJ bought one and loves it. My oldest started with a 6.5 and it did well with it.
We won a 6.5 at a whitetails banquet a few years back. Definitely a great “lighter” option. The market for the 6.5 is cooling down fast. Like anything else, when something newer or interesting comes along, it gets hot and takes off if they let it. It’s just a matter of if it sticks. I could see us using these 350s for a long time. My 2 nephews have 8 deer to there credit 10 and 7 taken with the 350L
One of there friends got his first with one in a ruger American. Hit hit a little far back but the deer didn't go 100yd from the shot.
From what i have seen they work well. I like 170gr interlock

I purchased a Savage in a 400 legend last year, unfortunately I didn’t get to tag a deer with it, hopefully this year will be better, I also have a Savage in a 270 win and planning on getting a 350 legend in the next 3 or 4 years, my 400 came without a muzzle brake giving it some recoil but personally I think it’s about the same as the 270 win

I have the Ruger American go wild with the leupold 3-9 x 40 with the CDS dial. With the 150s deer season bullets, im holding a group 1" group out to 300 yards.
I have taken at least 6 deer past 220 yards, most of the deer taken from 150-200. I havent lost a deer and they never make it past 50 yards. It has replaced my rilfe forsure.

I have killed 5 or 6 whitetails with a 350L, I really like the cartridge and performance …I just got the 400L Ranch Rifle and will be trying it this season…figured it is more of a good thing…still low recoil imo…we shall see, season opens in 2 days!…

I have the 350 legend it's Winchester XPR scout with 3x9 vortex 2. It's got the shorter barrel on it, I've taken 2 bucks and doe with it none went more than 30 yards money well spent. I shoot 180gr. Winchester super X

With 180 gr i wouldn't hesitate to take it moose hunting not even a sec though seems the 180s marketed for deer would be better suited for larger game like moose brown bear etc with near 40" of penetration in ballistics gel

Alot of adult hunters are using 350L. It's not just a kid's gun. But it is definitely the lowest recoil, highest accuracy kid's gun. Our whole adult camp uses it. Great deer and bear cartridge. We know - we've taken lots of both with it. We use the Win 180gr. A real thumper

A couple years ago I took a spike at 203 measured yards with a 350 Legend 150 grain bullet. It dropped in its tracks.

Get a youth model rifle. The shorter length of pull makes it easier on the shorter statured people to sight with.. I got a CVA Scout, single shot is a good starter and 350 Legend will reliably take deer at woods ranges(

What Gun Are You Guys Shooting?
We are shooting the ruger .350 predator in this episode.
Looked like the franchi momentum when you were shooting out in the clear cut.
What brand of rifle did your daughter shoot in the video? It looks like a Remington 783 to me?
The rifle in the video is a Benelli 350 Legend.
People who don’t know any better might be confused by some of your statements.
First, being straight-walled has nothing to do with recoil. Recoil is a function of propellant charge, bullet weight, and rifle weight. Cartridges that burn less powder and/or fire bullets of lower weight such as the .223 and 6.5 Grendel will produce less recoil.
Second, being straight-walled has nothing to do with trajectory. A bullet’s trajectory is a function of its starting velocity and ballistic coefficient. Cartridges that fire bullets at a faster velocity and/or of a higher ballistic coefficient, such as a .223, 6.5 Grendel, or honestly the majority of centerfire cartridges will have a flatter trajectory at both short and long range than the .350 Legend.
That doesn’t mean it’s a bad cartridge. I think it’s great for its deigned role. I just get tired of people saying things that don’t make any logical sense, which tends to run rampant in the firearms world.

I live in northern new mexico. Elk, mule deer and antelope. Out here anything from a 243 up would be a better choice than the 350 legend. But guess what? This coming year I’m hunting with a 350 legend. It is a fun little cartridge! And inside 150 yards with 180s is a legitimate elk gun. It will test your hunting skills not you sniping ability. I have it in a savage axis 2. Nice video👍.
