Переглядів 3052 місяці тому
In this episode we'll take you through the entire process of tearing apart the old transom and building a brand-new one for a classic 1978 Kenner Ski Barge. We will even show you the process of fiberglassing in a new transom made out of marine plywood. We think it is a stronger new version of the transom in our restored Kenner Ski Barge Console boat project.

    I've got to change out the gas orifices. Unit gets too hot on low, 400 degrees and high is near 600 degrees. I like the portability and adaptability from 1# bottles to tank. Still learning. I wish It came or Pit Boss offered a metal cover. The cloth cover allows moisture to get to the griddle plate. Thanks for your review!!!

      That’s interesting. We have never had that issue. Have him try to put the blades and axles in the freezer for 20 minutes before he uses them. We do that with our grinders and stuffers to prevent stuff from gumming up. Just an idea….

    I have this griddle, bought it new on sale for $25.00, it was 75% off, I couldn’t walk out of that store without it, not at that price. I store it inside my Weber grill fits perfectly inside it, I had it for two years and as long as I keep it oiled it doesn’t rust. Just made peppers and onions with hot Italian sausage, great little griddle.

      @@NoEyeDeerOutdoors Clean the Hell outta it after every 2 big cooks. Bought the LSS Mods and that helps with the hopper smoking chunks. The manifold cover is a must. Also the bigger cook rack is nice. Overall…use a powerful Dawn soap for greased racks rinse well with water then burn for 20 minutes before putting meat on. Enjoy!

    Online or call in registration numbers? Any idea how many don't get registered? Many I think. And the Texas deer czar. This ain't Texas. Not even close

    • @NoEyeDeerOutdoors
      @NoEyeDeerOutdoors 2 місяці тому

      Probably the same amount of deer don't get registered as in the day when we had to drive our harvested deer to a registration station. Law breakers will always break the law. In person registration or online. And yea....that's probably why we are where we are today because we hired some guy in Texas to help us with our deer heard.

    could you put it back thru (probably "sideways") and end up with little cubes?

    • @NoEyeDeerOutdoors
      @NoEyeDeerOutdoors Місяць тому

      Hmmmmm, that’s a good question. I suppose in theory you could. Depending on how perfect you’d want to get the cubes, you’d have to wait to crank to get each piece laying across the blade evenly. The feed chute is pretty long so feeding a piece sideways would be the challenge…..I’d think.

    Where is the next boat restoration video? I'm waiting patiently for the next video on the restoration of Berty (short for Bertha)! I want to see the Sturgis Brothers Boat Restoration Construction services workmanship. It's almost fishing opener and the boat isn't ready. Do you need Big Lar there to do the construction supervision and give you his 2 cents worth with how to fix things. Just don't let him give you battery advice for what kind of battery to install for the boat motor.

    Unfortunately Durkin has morphed into a far left leaning political hack who uses his "outdoor" moniker to write articles where he blames conservative political leaders for every imaginable problem he conjuror's up. He just throws in a couple perch fishing articles to maintain the illusion of an "outdoorsman." Imposters like him are no good for people who enjoy hunting and fishing.

    Manage wolves in northern zones to help increase deer populations. Cut all the extended and extra seasons, just unnecessary. Limit crossbow to those in need (youth, elderly, injured). Or at a minimum a specific crossbow season needs to be implemented that is shorter than vertical archery season. Limit nonresident tags. Entertain the idea of making WI a one-buck state to try and help increase age structure of bucks. Probably wouldn’t solve everything but those would at least help.

  • @duckhunternate

    "Deer make people stupid." - P. Durkin. 😂 (I'm sure I will use that in the future.) A huge change in deer hunting that I don't think gets enough weight is one that you alluded to early in the discussion, hunter patterns. If you have viable habitat on your land and the hunters sit in box blinds all day you are at the mercy of natural movement. So, even in the best case scenario if natural, and weather, patterns have deer hunkered down, you won't see them. Growing up hunting (starting in 1990 in southern WI), especially in cold weather, hunters were moving deer around by 9am. From single hunter drives to all out group drives with the neighbors, the deer were rarely comfortable during daylight hours. Now, all I see is box blinds on neighboring properties and no deer moving. Some of the availability of deer hunting information in recent years has also shown me how poor many deer hunters are at the actual pursuit of deer. Historical stands in traditional deer killing spots don't produce forever. Most hunters would rather stay in the traditional spot than do the hard work of figuring out where the deer really are. Most hunters would rather do what is quick and easy than that which is time consuming and difficult. Woodsmanship falls in the latter category. I learned more in a couple years of watching the Hunting Public than I had in the 3 decades of deer hunting before that. Maybe all our technology is working against us now. We can see all the deer on the property that we rarely, or never, see during hunting hours. In the past we had tracks and trails, maybe a few rubs and scrapes. Now we know when they came through, how many, and how big they were. Too much information can be a detriment in that situation.

    How’d you get the chemical out of the tote? I’ve got a bunch of those at work but with the chemicals we use I’m hesitant to bulk my sap in those…

    • @NoEyeDeerOutdoors
      @NoEyeDeerOutdoors 6 місяців тому

      This is a good grade tote previously used for brewing. But we still cleaned it out good. Leaned it up against a fence, sprayed it down with food grade cleaner, and then we fabricated a bristle scrub brush to a pole and then used a garden hose. It is kind of a pain to clean it and keep it clean. But we also needed to have something to store hundreds of gallons of sap.
