I never came is stronger than you seemed to give it credit for. But my god thank you for giving like clockwork the attention it deserves
On the other hand, flying through a plate glass window never sounded better 😉
7. Villains (obviously, sad but true)
6. Era Vulgaris (amazing and an experimental delight)
5. Lullabies to Paralyze (quite possibly the best Halloween record)
4. Queens of the Stone Age (the most desert and stoner inspired album, and a magnificent trip of an experience)
3. ...Like Clockwork (this is my album of the decade so far...! Nuff said!)
2. Rated R (one of the greatest rock albums of all time and in my all time top 10, but...)
1. Songs for the Deaf ( one of the greatest musical experiences that I had ever experienced and the reason they’re my favourite living artist!)
Qotsa for life!!!!
switch 4 and 5
Every of their album has a different vibe to it.
Where would you put in times new Roman?
I saw Wolf Alice open for QOTSA last year in Dallas. It was such a good show. QOTSA played songs not just from Villains but from all their albums which I really liked.
Michael Cali I saw them in Austin during the same tour. Fucking amazing show 😍 I almost got a pick but the dumbass security guard that I pointed it out to gave the pick to some random girl, even though I pointed it out 😒😒😒😒😒 regardless, I’m just grateful I finally saw them since I was supposed to see them in early 2014 but had to pull out last second
My favorites
7. QOTSA
6. Villains
5. Lullabies to Paralyze
4. Rated R
3. Era Vulgaris
2. Songs for the Deaf

Good list. I would go:
7: Villains
6: Self Titled
5: Lullabies to Paralyze
4: Like Clockwork
3: Era Vulgaris
2 Rated R
1: Songs For the Deaf
I haven't listened to Like Clockwork in a while so mine would be
7.Villains
6.Self Titled
5. Like Clockwork
4.Era Vulgaris
3.Lulabies
2. Rated R
1.Song For the Deaf
7 - Era Vulgaris

4 - Rated R
3 - Self Titled
2 - Like Clockwork
1 - Songs For The Deaf
In my opinion, a song I love from these guys that I find fairly underrated is Mosquito Song, the last track on Songs for the Deaf. Its an interesting way to close out the album, it being alot more calm and melodic, being a contrast to the high octane feeling of most of the album. Then when that orchestra comes in, it's so awesome.
I was looking for a qotsa ranked like 3 hours ago. Spooky
The first time I've heard of them was on nfs underground 2 and it was "in my head." Since then I've been a big fan of them!
Whoa what?! Your ranking is EXACTLY mine! Really wasn't expecting that because I consider my ranking to be kind of weird. I also avoided Era Vulgaris and Lullabies to Paralyze for the longest time due to bad / lukewarm reviews. Huge mistake lol.
I also really appreciated how they completely switched up their setlist which threw everyone who memorized it off when I saw them last year. They played some random deep cuts (I remember them playing I Never Came) and a couple of songs from R, which they hadn't played at all on that tour.
And I agree about R. It's also one of the few albums I'd consider perfect and I was so stoked to find the R gatefold (called X with an alternate cover and had some bonus tracks) in a record store. Now they need to repress Songs for the Deaf on vinyl because it's insanely expensive lol...
Saw them last year and heard them play In My Head. Didn't expect that one
7. Villains

idk why, but Make It Wit Chu is one of my all time favourite songs ever
No matter how many times I listen to it the ending catches me so off guard
It should have just stayed as a dessert sessions song, it's a fine song but has no place on era vulgaris

1.) SSLP
2.) MMLP
3.) MMLP2
4.) Eminem Show
Rest is shit
Do you know what the lineup was in the footage you used in the lullabies to paralyze segment? Some faces I’ve never seen in the queens lineup before
That was during the Lullabies era, aka when Nick was no longer in the band and Mark wasn't really involved heavily or touring. I'm honestly not 100% sure as that was probably the most inconsistent time in their lineup, but I do know that the clip is from 2005 at a festival. I intentionally used different footage from each era I talked about.
Gotcha, just curious! It’s cool how so many musicians were a part of queens!
Finally someone said rated R is their best record
My favorite QOTSA albums, ranked:
7. Villains
6. Era Vulgaris
5. Lullabies to Paralyze
4. Songs for the Deaf
3. Queens of the Stone Age
2. Rated R
1. Like Clockwork
7. Lullabies To Paralyze

5. QOTSA
4. Rated R

Cool video, though I would have put Lullabies higher! Could you maybe do a Ranked video for Jimmy Eat World next?
My ranking would be
7 villains
6 queen's of the stone age
5 era vulgaris
4 lullabies to paralyze
3 songs for the deaf
2 .......like clockwork
1 rated R
In my Honest opinion QOTSA have one of the best discographies in music history and there easily my favourite band ever
Hmm I accept your list Jonathan! I would flip you're number 1 and 2 and put self-titled higher on my list especially if we're talking the remastered! Solid list and honestly surprised you're Lullibies bias didn't full on show in it. Lol All jokes aside great episode of ranked to start the year and looking forward to seeing photoage of Hannah and you loosing your shit at a QOTSA show! 😎 \m/
I saw them in monterrey, amazing show, they're my favorite band. They opened with my god is the sun which I didn't expect, like clockwork is my fav album.
I still need to actually listen to rated R, the self titled and Era Vulgaris, so won't pass judgement on them, but out of the albums I have heard:
4- Villains
3- Songs for the Deaf
2- Lullabies to Paralyse
1- ...Like Clockwork
Do this with Radiohead!!
7. Villians (Album Highlight: "The Way You Used to Do")
6. ...Like Clockwork (Album Highlight: "I Sat by the Ocean")
5. Queens of the Stone Age (Album Highlight: "Regular John" and "If Only")
4. Rated R (Album Highlight: "Lost Art of Keeping a Secret" and "Living Better Through Chemistry")
3. Era Vulgaris (Album Highlight: "3's and 7's")
2. Lullabies to Paralyze (Album Highlight: "Medication" and "Little Sister")
1. Songs for the Deaf (Album Highlight: "Go With the Flow")
Matches my list completely!!! Songs for the Deaf is an absolute masterpiece. Lullabies is beautiful, like being in some black & white, damp woods. I adore "I Never Came". Era Vulgaris is like a demons' party; when I first heard it, I thought it literally sounded like Hell - LOVE it.
@@seaweedsally Thanks for the comment but this list is sadly out of date and the ranking has drastically changed.
For those who want to know, the updated list is
1. Era Vulgaris
2. Songs for the Deaf (Very, very lose second)
3. Lullabies to Paralyze
4. …Like Clockwork
5. Queens of the Stone Age
6. Rated R
7. Villains
Good list! One of the best, yet criminally underrated bands of all time.
For me it’s
7 era vulgaris
6 villains
5 self titled
4 lullabies to paralyze
3 (unpopular opinion but) songs for the deaf
2 rated r
1 like clockwork
Thank you for this!!!
In watching this, I'm surprised they only have 7 studio albums. Seems like they had more.
I actually think #2 is Villains and #1 is Like Clockwork but hey, good review as always!
One of my favorite bands as well. Would be hard to rank their albums
My ranking
1. Like Clockwork
2. Songs for the deaf
3. Lullabies
4. Villains
5 . Era Vulgaris
6. Rated R (4,5, and 6 are all interchangeable)
7.QOTSA
Like Clockwork is The Best QOTSA album and would be much higher on ranked lists if it wasnt for The Rated r and Songs for The Deaf legacy (like When people overrate Tupac and biggie due to their legacy)
Hmm. I love all of Queens, I could only rate it on which album I listen to most frequently because of what I fancy but I wouldn't pin any album better than another. All very different. Complex in their own ways but lullabies for sure has the most accessible music. I don't rate no one knows over tangled up in plaid though
Fucking love QOTSA. They don’t have a bad album.
Just move the debut up a couple spots and that's my ranking. But I guess SFTD and Like Clockwork are interchangeable too. Nice job!
8: Self Titled
7: Villains
6: Rated R
5: Lullabies
4: In Times New Roman
3: Era Vulgaris
2: SFTD
1: Like Clockwork
I know my number one (SFTD) and my number 7 (Self Titled), but i have no idea what the order in between would be. I love every album.
Are you going to do a ranked on Sum 41?
So far, I've only listened to Songs of the Deaf, ...Like Clockwork, and Villains all the way through. I enjoyed all of those albums so I'll have to give the rest of their discography a listen.
Good list.
Next every Interpol album ranked from worst to best please 🙏
7. QOTSA
6. Lullabies
5. Rated R
4. SFTD
3. Villains
2. Era Vulgaris
1. ...LC
It seems like I’m one of the only one who enjoys Villains the most... oh well I still enjoy this video!
villians is top 3 for sure
Like clockwork from like clockwork is one of my favs from the band... soothing whenever I feel overlooked
Mark Ronson also produces the black lips Arabia mountain album and it has the same problem, it’s good but it has a lot of out of place sounds. He even uses the same sound effects in both villains and Arabia mountain. Villains grew on me tho and it’s now my fourth favourite album under rated r, self titled, and ...like clockwork.
Good list though, i am surprised you put era in front of self titled but you have your reasons and I have mine for not liking it as much.
IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS😊
My own top is:
7. Villains
6. Era Vulgaris
5. Lullabies To Paralize
4. Queens Of The Stone Age
3. Songs For The Deaf
2. Like Clockwork
1. Rated R
Love this videos, Foo Fighters next??
Definitely soon
Damn..this is one hard list to make. Seriously these dudes from the desert don't have a single bad album, despite all the lineup changes, guest collabs, eyebrow-raising production choices (Mark Ronson) and trying not to let every album sound the same as one another. Queens Of The Stone Age are one of my favourite bands as well and they are truly modern rock legends.
My ranked list for the band would go like:
7. Villains (Great album, some amazing jams like 'The Evil Has Landed' and soothing melodies like on 'Fortress'. Not the most consistent production or lyrical depth)
6. Lullabies To Paralyze (Has a lot of amazing songs, though don't listen to the album as a whole much. Still a solid listen)
5. Queens Of The Stone Age (The great big debut, meaty riffs and all... always a chill listen)
4. Era Vulgaris (Their boldest and most bizarre work of all. Insanely good songwriting and abundance of dark moods on songs like 'Run Pig Run', 'Suture Up Your Future', 'Battery Acid' and great catchy fun songs like '3s and 7s')
The next 3 albums are pretty much equally magnificent,
3. Rated R (Fantastic listen from start to finish, 'Lost Art Of Keeping A Secret' is song that always puts me in a good mood and 'Better Living Through Chemistry' is madness)
2. Songs For The Deaf (Epic Epic Epic.... great flow of songs, killer riffs by Homme and Dave fucking Grohl)
1. Like Clockwork (This is a really beautiful and fantastic piece of work. Lyrically their finest album and the quality of musicianship is top notch, especially with the presence of Homme,Olivieri,Troy,Grohl,Reznor,Elton and other great musicians in the rock genre. 'I Appear Missing' is a haunting song, my favorite from the band)
Rated R is also my favourite. Every song has such deep character I feel like each song is a complex person with a back story, and it feels liek there's some sort of overarching story, to me it feels like someone slowly going insane.
My Queens of the Stone Age Ranking... Warning it is a little long so if you don't want to read its fine.
- Era Vulgaris - this should be no surprise a strange but not bad album but its very hard for me to listen to.
- Self Titled - a great kickstart to the band with great tracks and holds up very well.
- Rated R - An amazing album with very memorable tracks but really didn't stand out to me like it did for others.
- Villains - A underrated album that gets to much flack for what it has tracks that are fun and upbeat and should be placed hire and a lot of peoples, I personally have a soft spot for this album.
- Lullabies to Paralyze - an album that has grown on me the more listen with it very mysterious sounding track and fun melodies and album that should talk about more.
- Songs for the Deaf - This album and Lullabies normally flip flop spots for me but this album has tons of memorable tracks and is what really showed dave grohl's capabilities on drums and nick amazing bass playing and who can forget the amazing Mark Lanegan's vocals in tracks like God is in the Radio.
- ...Like Clockwork - This album is so amazing coming from Era Vulgaris there were high expectations for this album and they really pulled it off from tracks like fairweather friends to kalopsia Josh Homme made an album that holds a special place in my heart and an album that was executed perfectly with the nice blend of the electronic sounds but the heavy yet unique riffs that Josh and the others come up with.
