  • First time setting this robot vacuum up with the barrier. I describe the experience of how it performs around the dining room table, pine needles, cables. The Cat and Dog deal with its first encounter. I did my research on several different models and ended up purchasing this unit. So far I am impressed and like this robot!

    You made the right choice buying Irobot, why you may ask! The availability of parts and accessories are everywhere on the internet and at low prices plus the durability, warranty and most importantly its power to cruise over uneven surfaces, deep rugs and other objects is hands down way better than the few other brands I've tried!

    Your dog is sweet. I have had Rottweiler's for 30 years and they weren't good on smooth floors. Your puppy acts the same way they did on smooth floors. Sweet Sadie, I miss my Rottweiler's!

    This 650 died today after almost 6 yeras of use. I think it is just the battery that needs to be replaced. I will eventally look at getting a new one after I research the cost of a new battery? Been an excellent vacuum! Sad to see it non operational!

    Yes it does dock itself . You can also push the dock button to make it return early or after a clean out of the canister and brushes. This robot is doing great ... Six months now and no problems.

    This unit has been great. I have had no problems with it in the last year and it runs 3 times a week! I have had to do a full cleaning of hair out of the brush a few times and have not replaced the filter yet. It picks up tons of hair from the laminate floors and I am still impressed; i will post what the catch bin looks like after a run. I would like to get a second one dedicated for the basement!

    • @twoencore
      @twoencore 8 років тому

      +Wicked Garden curious why not just have it run daily?

    • @kennmount
      @kennmount  8 років тому +2

      3 times a week is enough. Doing it daily for the size of my home I think is overkill. I do take it to the basement every few weeks for a run. I figure I would get more life out of it if it is running on a good reaaonable schedule .

    Really great video! I have one in my basket at Amazon. In not sure of the year the 650 came out, or if there is a new and improved model. I really didn't even know how they worked. Yours is the first time I've seen one in action. Kind of amazing! I like you kitchen tile! That was one question I couldn't find an answer for, does it clean the grooves of grout? Mind are quite deep and I have to vacuum, sweeping doesn't get the debris. Your video showed great suction over the tile. Gosh I'm so glad I came across your video. I'll order mine right now. Thank you!

      +Garent Manyensen . It has been almost a year and it is running very well still. I have not replaced the filter yet and nothing has broken; i am diligent about shaking the filter clean after each use. I have done probably 3 very thorough cleanings of the brushes by removing all the hair. No loss of battery power. Reliability has been excellent.

      It does quite well with the wires. I do recommend picking them off the floor but it does stop and slow the brushes down if it gets tangled. I have had it stop completely and suck and MacBook charging cable around the brush only once.

    • @seylerfam7025
      @seylerfam7025 7 років тому +1

      Jeff C it does a parameter reading while it cleans. Then the system determines the best way to clean the floor. It wouldn't be able to just do parallel lines to clean a space that has objects in the way.

    • @RogerDiotte
      @RogerDiotte 6 років тому +1

      Actually it can do parallel lines, just not this model. The 960 and 980 have the camera on board and do a pure systematic back and forth sweep. The only thing though is they are 900 bucks plus.
      The random pattern actually does clean a room eventually but you'll go batty if you stare at it...

      It uses Robot Intelligence that is programmed in. Not so much learning but the manual describes this:Roomba is a robot that cleans floors differently than the way most people clean their floors. Roomba uses its robot intelligence to efficiently clean the whole floor, under and around furniture and along walls.
      Roomba calculates the optimal cleaning path as it cleans and determines when to use its various cleaning behaviors:
      Spiraling: Roomba uses a spiral motion to clean a concentrated area.
      Wall Following: Roomba uses this technique to clean the full perimeter of the room and navigate around furniture and obstacles.
      Room Crossing: Roomba crisscrosses the room to ensure full cleaning coverage.
      Dirt Detection: When Roomba senses dirt, the blue Dirt Detect™ light is lit and Roomba cleans more intensely in that area.

    *I run the m6 daily, and my floors look awesome🌼 **allabout.wiki/Roborock-Robotic** I wet mop 2 days and dry sweep the rest of the days. When I first got it, I used the included disposable pads. I didn't like them--the dry pad has no depth so if it picks up a chunk of something, like dry cat food, then it pushes it around or drags it around the floor. The wet pad wasn't very absorbent so left streaks and wheel marks.*
