Hey everyone 👋 I've done an experiment on propagating different Aeonium cultivars from leaf and there's also an update if anyone is interested (links below). I've also asked people watching to try themselves and send me photo/video evidence of their efforts so its not just my anecdotal experience. So far, i still have no evidence of A arboreum propagating from leaf and stand by what i said in the video- arboreum is not going to grow to a full size plant from leaf. Even if a leafbaby pops out, it is very likely eventually going to die. 😔 You can still send evidence in to the email mentioned in the videos below, i will make another update if there's new info. Some other Aeonium cultivars will produce a leafbaby but, it is difficult to get them to grow to a full size plant. ua-cam.com/video/CX_J5NhxvOY/v-deo.htmlsi=pwDokbiJl4KDZprb ua-cam.com/video/zML_7SenT_M/v-deo.htmlsi=wYNTYnKjOCQ86KYS
Ive successfully propogated aeonium arboreum velour & aeonium kiwi from leaves.. Growing succulents with lizk has also done it and has a video as well.. Its however a little different than propogating leaves like other succulents and i did it through trial and error . So yes you can propogate it through leaves👍
Thank you for the comment-much appreciated. I've had a look at that Succulents with Liz video and from what i've seen she was only able to get leaves grow on an Aeonium tabuliforme hybrid but none of her other Aeonium? Yes, you can definitely do some Aeonium like the tabuliforme, leucoblepharum, haworthii & Kiwi (although i'd love to see fully grown Kiwi from leaf as they tend to grow on the albino side and die) but i'm yet to see any evidence that arboreum or schwartzkopf can grow to a full, adult plant just from leaf. If you do have any photos/videos that show the progress of you velour from leaf to an adult plant could you please send them to us succulentgrowingtips@gmail.com and i'll include them in an upcoming video i'll be doing on propagating Aeonium from leaf 🙂 Thank you
There's a couple of options. 1. You can 'behead' and take the top rosette off. This should encourage new offshoots on the stalk. I'd advise to do this during the growing season 2. A less drastic way- repot into a bigger pot using fresh potting mix, provide as much light as possible and wait for the growing season to come along. Aeonium grow during the cooler months and are dormant in summer. They're more likely to grow well and branch out when they're outdoors, exposed to the sun. I do have a couple of videos on this, if you're interested: ua-cam.com/video/KMkZj1wKNZw/v-deo.htmlsi=yJyE9IsEVxJbm0v6 ua-cam.com/video/WvUgWAtRTJw/v-deo.htmlsi=oHvRkbuUov-VGVBi Hope this helps 🙂

@@SucculentGrowingTips Nice response...I appreciate you bringing more insight to the discussion.
Thank you ! Very informative!!!!
Thank you for your kind feedback 🙂💚
how do you get them to brach out instead of growing straight up with one florette on top of stalk?
