- Sniping for gold is a way of extracting gold from the cracks while under water . A dry suit is used along with a snorkel set an some tools for helping getting the gold out of the cracks.
The location was a burn in the scottish hills .
Half a million views. Beautiful water clarity. Most creative use of a tire jack in history. And a bit of gold, which is more than I've got. Good for you.

Glad you liked it . Looks total different under the water an I find it quite relaxing tbh lol. The only thing is that with sniping i find if your not on the right spot you don't get as much gold, but you can find one bit that makes your day as you did .
Yep that's why I always prefer getting up close and using my mask and snorkel clearing with my scoop than using the hand dredge. I find it more relaxing and you can see how the layers are built up if you are dealing with any over burden and once you have clear bedrock you can spend a good while just poking around in the crevices. I think its more fun doing that than just shifting material to get a load of gold, even if I don't find anything.,

WTF!! are you doing? Scuba Snorkling in 3 inches of water with a neon green Bouy and i guess that's to warn ducks that a snorkel diver is down! Do you have to be certified to Snoklel dive in your area? man that looks like fun but maybe with a cooler of beer and some young ladies but they may be scared to Snorkel dive at that depth!! I wonder if the coast guard would respond if a Snorkel diver were to get the Bends while surfacing to fast!!! Thanks and i just saw a mud puddle i'm gonna practice!!! later Gator!!!! Such a neat video..I just wished I was that smart to be pulling that operation off.Can you tell me about the hand dredge you are using..How long did you do the operation..2 or 3 hours? Did you use the plastic bottle for stacking up the material before using the dredge? thanks again The video was super..learned so much..

glad you enjoyed the video Ron.. the pump cleans out the gravels an gold an are put down the sluice, then i snipe the bedrock as this is where the best gold gets caught in the cracks . when i find sume gold on the bedrock i use my snuffer bottle to easily capture the gold .

hi paystreak , thanks for taking the time to watch my video an i hope you enjoyed it . yes your right there are vivers here in scotland that can be worked in safely an this river has produced some nice gold . i was lucky this day i remembered to take my cam.
The dry suit is loose bit this is a good thing cause it allows you to stretch out without the feeling of having restrictions yes. but it really is a dive suit an it came with a really thick under suit an it almost 2" thick but in hot weather you can not wear it as you would melt away .

How pure is that gold?
Hi Matteo , the gold in this part of Scotland is very good an worth more to the gram as it’s 23.8 carats .. but it’s much harder to find. But it’s fun doing it .
Why does the wet suit look like overkill?
the dive suit has a inside suit as well but this time never had it on cause it was the end of summer . I use the same suit do do this in the winter an it can get really cold . also it protects you from sharp stones . but most of all keeps you warm , dry an away from the fly's an midges that bite .

thanks for watching an hope you enjoyed . in scotland we are not allowed to use such equipment. Just a hand pump. ghis river has been hit hard over the last few years but there is still spots that have good pockets it's just finding them .

you can achieve same thing with 5gal bucket , cut bottom out , glue in pice plexiglass cheap works good dont need all that xpensive gear, done it for years, now thats sniping.

There's no law against narrating.
As you're doing the sniping, & making the video (or beforehand!), try to imagine what it would be good to say when - and maybe do things a little differently at each such point, to fit in better with the narration to be added later.
Plus, eg: you could stick in somewhere answers to obvious questions like how'd you make the sniffer.
As it is, I couldn't tell WTF was going on.

it's all about having a bit of fun . gets you out of the house . most of the gold in this part of scotland was hushed my the Romans an what else was was left was the boys in the 18th century got it . But there is decent gold found , you just got to be lucky to find it .

Pretty weak. You need to go really learn how to get after it. If this wasn't his first time ever I would be surprised. At least he made a video. And found a dink. When I go man I redirect water move shit out of the way hammer n chisel but when I'm done I got a paycheck in my bottle. And I ain't that great at it compared to some of the guys I've seen. But at least I've been known to find many grams most days
