That last book blew my mind
lately, i’ve been thinking of community/chosen family, shared vs private space, how wondrous sharing space with people can be. the peggy nolan book is definitely going to be on my to-buy list as a lover of photo books about family
As an unabashed photobook nerd, I love this series. Thanks!
I love how much you love this book! It does look amazing but equally you did a really good job of showcasing it, combining a sensitive reading and nicely edited selection of the work, your enthusiasm really comes through. Thanks for sharing, these and the videos of you out taking photos are my favourites, looking forward to when you're ready to share more of the current projects.
Thank you for these recommendations! As a starting photo book reader, I’ve been intrigued by the use of writings in photo books like Peggy Nolan’s essay. At first, it felt wrong to have writings assist photos, but artists have no boundaries. And, without words, I would not be able to describe my feelings while reading books in the first place!
That Peggy Nolan book is insane
These videos are my favorite. Do you have Peggy Nolan’s other book, Real Pictures: Tales of a Badass Grandma? Would love to see your review of that.
You have a true talent explaining these photo books that is a pleasure to listen to.
I definitely should enter in the photobook world too
You’ve got a great reading voice, Matt. As always, thanks for sharing!!
Your book review episodes are my favorite. Keep up the great work!!
Love these books, I’m going to see Peggy at an artist talk next week!
Matt , Thank You Man . I needed that. Thanks 4 Always Keeping it Real
That book by Peggy Nolan - Juggling is Easy looks truly incredible! I have to pick up a copy now!!
Great vid. If you haven’t already checked it out, I think you’d like Vanishing Points by Michael Sherwin.
Keep up the great work! I don’t know if you’re already familiar with Attila Bartis, and his work, but I’m confident you’ll love it. As a hungarian from Transilvania, his work is really close to my heart, and I hope you’ll find it interesting. I strongly recommend “On the islands”(A Szigeteken) from him, it’s one of those books that really influenced my photography when I started out.
I forgot where I was while watching this video. Listening to you read from that passage and watching you flick between photographs teleported me to within those pages and I was forever lost. It was wonderful. Can you make an audio track for your next book, plz? haha
That Owen Wilson Yeah Right hat tho
