Rory was joking it wasn't inappropriate at all give me a break. Plus Lorelai even said to Emily that Roy was a do over daughter when they took Rory in. Watch season 6 again.
@@lauriecarson6483 I know the show inside and out and LORELEI felt that way and I also said there were moments but Emily throughout the entire show wanted a closer relationship with Lorelei. When gran offered the money, Emily feared Lorelei would never come back. When Rory borrowed the money for Yale, Emily was thrilled because she knew Lorelei would come. Emily tried to give loans to Lorelei when Rory graduated Yale to get her to come for Friday dinners and she gave Lorelei Lukes franchise money for the 2nd Inn and what did she ask? for Lorelei to come to the Vineyard for 2 weeks a year and 1 week at Christmas time. I think I know the show well enough to know who Emily saw her daughter as, I dont need to rewatch. Also the joke was inappropriate but different people have ideas of what is classy. I felt it was inappropriate to joke like that in front of your grandparents, you don't feel that way. We obviously differ on what is tasteful and what isn't.

She wanted Lorelai to be just likes her and when Emily is doing something for Lorelai strings are attacked. Emily is mean and manipulating towards Lorelai. Heck she broke up her daughters relationship cause Luke was beneath her. Emily is no saint like you make her out to be. And Lorelai may have not liked Rory boyfriends but she would steep so low to break them up like Emily does.
