The people who survived the first war were called the “lost generation”. Mentally, physically, emotionally, and even in sheer numbers, we really did lose an entire generation of young men. The bread of butter of society, thrown away for nothing. The actions of that setting weren’t romanticized, soldiers weren’t made into legends or heroes, and the war wasn’t turned into something we look back at and laugh about. It was a scar on human history that, to this day, hasn’t healed.
World War Two had a body count four times as high, and produced easily ten, or even 20 times, the amount of human suffering and loss. Entire countries were destroyed. The falling of the iron curtain, Stalin’s three days, the purged of suspected war criminals in Mid to East Europe, the Japanese destruction of China, all of it. The second war was worse, by every imaginable and measurable standard. Millions died, helpless and alone, under the jack boot of one ideology or another. Soldiers, entire divisions(12,000 men) were fed into battles labeled “meat grinders” after the war. Fucking meat grinders. The war was so bad that many countries even today still feel the physical effects of it’s brutality on their economy and population. People in France, Germany, and Russia still die, every day, from stepping on ordnance that’s been buried for 70 years.
What did we do with this war? We made it into games. We made it into movies, books, action figures, folk tales and stories of heroism and brotherhood to tell to children when the nights got a little too dark. We labeled the few that came home as “the greatest generation”, despite the fact that we had just sacrificed ANOTHER generation of young men for seemingly no reason at all.
No, I don’t think humanity is ready for world peace yet. I think that we will be, some day, but before that, a whole lot of people will have to die, and a whole lot of people are gonna have to suffer under the control of tyrants, dictators, Kings, “great leader”s, and the like. If we don’t destroy ourselves first, that is.

I agree and disagree. WWI made no sense because that was just it, there was very little reason for an entire world to be thrust into conflict over a series of alliances and pacts. But WWII was completely different. You reference Japan's slaughter of China, and I'll throw in the entire Nazi regime and its attempted annihilation of entire races, religions, and creeds. Japan needed to be stopped. Germany needed to be stopped. The cost of war is never worth the price paid, but in WWII more than any other conflict in recent history, the stakes were real. The entire world was truly in jeopardy. I do truly believe that without the sacrifice of millions and millions of young men, the slaughter of the tens and hundreds of millions would have continued until the very face of this earth looked different. Remember the Nazis were attempting to build an atom bomb as well. Had the Allies not won the war, or even begun to fight, the world as we know it would not be as it is. Cheers.

It fits well with the who shall I send scene. Here am I. I'm ready. Lers storm the gates of hell and drag satan off his throne. ... We have a job to do.
The other day I was trying to remember my personal motivation verse to tell someone. I know the words just not chapter and verse. But after that I remember better. Its John 15:13. The gist that there's no greater love than to lay down ur life for ur friends. Jesus says this as he tells them he considers them friends not servants. Then he goes and dies for them(us). Well the inverse is John 13:15 where Jesus says (gist of course, because do not add or take away from The Word of God) do as I have done for u.
Jesus in so many words did storm the gates of hell, he did snatch satan by the balls and did drag him of his throne.
Jesus: do as I have done for u, there is no greater love than to die for ur friends. If u dont own a sword sell ur cloak and buy one. But love one another as I have loved u. For as u judge u shall be judged.
But it's better to be a warrior in a garden than a gardener in a war.
And pro tip here, the best way to win a fight is to have no fight at all.

People have a lot of... odd complaints about Fury, usually regarding historical accuracy. In my opinion, though, it's one of the greatest war films ever made, specifically because of accuracy. It's accurate in the regard that it so excellently captures the FEELING of war, that disgusting rage and violence and hatred, mixed with the sorrow over what you've done, who you've become, and the glorious love of your comrades besides you, all mixing into this heady cocktail of nauseating joy. You love what it is, and you hate that you love it, and you hate what it is, and love that you hate it.
And it haunts you for the entire rest of your life.

In my opinion Fury is a very good movie. It is well acted, well produced and one of the best war movies made. You can see the emotion of each one of the characters throughout the entire movie. The storyline is excellent. I believe it shows that war is not glorious, but an evil event. "Wait till you see what a man can do to another man". This movie shows that. I would love to see this movie with all the scenes that were cut out. I am betting it would be even better. This is in my top 5 best war movies. I give it 👍👍.

If you know nothing about world war 2, then this seems like a good movie most likely if you’re interested in war. Even for those that are interested in world war 2, and can look past the historical inaccuracies and just appreciate the damn good acting, this is still a good movie. But for those that just cringe at everything, they can’t appreciate the absolutely incredible depiction of what war can do to a person. There was no glory to be seen. It was gruesome. People died. Children, the elderly, women, soldiers on both sides. There were no people spared in this war, both physically nor mentally. And this movie, and the actors, captured that damn well in my honest opinion

This movie may have inaccuracies but my Grandfather a Victorian Cross recipient fought in the Second World War and saw what the Germans did to people and in this movie where you see that hatred for the Germans is very accurate! My Grandfather was one of the soldiers that liberated Dachau and saw the atrocities that drove him to hate Germans and kill them. He once said that the German soldier especially the SS were without moral dignity and ruthless especially against the defenseless but cowardly when pinned down by foes of equal strength!! He came home and my Grandmother said the light in his eyes that he once had was gone forever and had this silence that he carried right up to the day he died. Never wanted tom talk about his experience or the horrors he experienced in this ugly time of humanity! God bless you Grand Dad!
