I found this very interesting, thank you, particularly as the subjects in most part had no direct direction of light. One question I would like to ask, and which gives me a lot of uncertainty in my painting is this: when I have a reference photo I like, I’m never sure what exactly I’m trying to emphasize, what should be given importance and what should be simplified/ understated or simply left out. I tend to want to overstate what I see, or paint too much. As a talented artist, would be your best advice for me ? Thank you.
